Am trying to install 3.5 .net framework on my xp computer. below are some screenshots that it gives me. Also a log file of the errors. one line in particular gives a path to my backup drive when it should be my C drive. Looks like the registry has the wrong path and don't know where to find it to fix. F is my backup drive.

However, when I try to install Framework, I always get a message saying that an error has occured when trying to create a directory in such and such file an the setup shuts down. i know for sure my account has full admin. rights so I know that can't be the problem. Any idea what I can do? As I said, there are other programs I want to install however they say I require .net Framework to install it.

However, every once in awhile, it will stop sending faxes even though there are faxes still showing in the Outbox of the Fax Console and Fax Monitor shows Ready to send. What we do see in the Fax Monitor's more>> window is that the last fax said that the fax did not answer, fax was cancelled after about 5 minutes of sitting there trying and it requeued the fax. It then shows a message of Fax Device Error.There is nothing in the Event Logs showing that there is a device problem. Looking at the Printers and Faxes in the Control Panel show the Fax is Ready.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have just installed a Samsung CLX-2160 on my Dell Dimension 5150 PC,which runs Windows XP Media Centre.As soon as the PC started reading the installation CD, it crashed with the following (taken from event viewer):The computer has rebooted from a bugcheck.The bugcheck was: 0x0000007e (0xc0000005, 0x804f106f, 0xba4fbaac, 0xba4fb7a8). A dump was saved in: C:WINDOWSMEMORY.DMP.
I rebooted with F8 and chose last working config.After a little enlightened guesswork and advice I removed my old Dell 725 printer driver(which had started giving an error message on startup). Now I could load the Samsung driver etc and the new printer works.However, XP still crashes whenever I reboot normally I can still bring up a working system with F8 as above (but I have to reload my PCI card drivers again - 2 port serial and sound card - for some reason)
i would like to know how to or if its possible to uninstall microsoft .net framework. Also what exactly does it even do? I noticed that after installing .net framework 2.0 SP1 cod4 seemed to get odd stuttering issues. I installed .net framework 2.0 SP2 and the stuttering reduced however still more than before i ever installed SP1. Is it possible to uninstall it? and do i need more than just .net framework 3.0?

I feel sort of bad for joining only to ask a question, but the boards just seemed so helpful I couldn't resist. Anyway, I recently installed the .net framework to a stable build of windows XP SP2, and now I'm having some problems. I deleted the asp.net account and checked the "don't use welcome screen" box in user profiles because I don't really like the login etc... that comes with it.
That was two days ago. This morning I turn on my computer only to have it take a long time at the windows loading screen, and hang at the off-blue loging screen without bringing up the login box. Now, I wanted to somehow get rid of the .net framework after I realised I didn't really need it, but now it's not even possible. I tried both entering in safe mode (hanging black screen with "safe mode" in the usual places) and using the last known working setting (and got the same off-blue login screen.) I don't mind reverting to a saved state, but I can't even access the desktop to be able to.
Initially the computer had a spyware infection. While cleaning it up I got a message telling me some windows files had been changed and i needed to insert the Windows XP CD to restore them. Didn't have CD handy at the time, so I installed SP2 hoping it would replace the corrupt files. Soon afterwards I got a message on reboot saying Windows had recovered from a corrupt registry. I was going to do a SFC /scannow, but at some point I was no longer able to boot into Windows.

That kinda concerns me a little, cuz I'v been using it for the last 3 years, only because the school right across the street from me is the closest reporting station and it's kinda like having your own weather station right in your front yard. One of the comments said the spyware problem was not hard to track or find, but I'v never heard this before and can't find anything about it. Would somebody elaborate,or send me a link to more info?

So I rolled it back to before the SP3 installation using system restore (oddly there was only one restore point, and that was just before the SP3 installation (I think Windows did that as part of the install).
View 9 Replies View RelatedI ran a new tweak called Process Monitor, and the last statement on the "process tree" was "rundll32.exe" I looked on the internet and it said that this could possibly be a spyware tracking me, but it has a microsoft name applied to it. Can you tell me if I should delete this or not? It has 500 or so records (dll's I'm assuming) attached to it. When I run CCleaner, my firewall (kerio) asks that rundll32.exe wants to execute.

Inside the blue band there is the words .NET Framework Initialization Error Inside the box there is a red blob with an X in it and the words :WINDOWSMicrosoft.NETFramework|v2.0.50727mscorwks.dll could not be loaded There is then an OK button which when I press it the PC loads properly. The machine seems to run OK. I am satisfied that I have no viruses or spyware. I am running XP Home SP2 I do not have a Windows disc as my PC came with Windows installed. I have made recovery disks and reinserted them but this has not made any difference.

It fails to install every time and comes back again and again to install. I did a very quick search on this problem and it seems there are problems concerning how Framework was loaded and what versions youo have.First of all, as far as I know, I have only loaded a new Framework version because a program I downloaded informed me I need this new version. I have a vaio PCG - 9G5M which has an internal CD reader - i wanted to record DVDs so i brought an external DVD writer - this did not come with any software but the shop gave me Nero version 7.I tried using this but try as i might it wouldnt work - then suddenly the computer stopped recognising the external AND internal disc drives - on the hard ware manager it states that the drivers for these devices are either misisng or corrupt - error message number 39.
I uninstalled the nero. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the drivers and uninstalling - turining off - and then trying - always the same message I had a techno guy come and look at it but he buggered up the internet and couldnt get it back - the only thing I could think to do was system roll back - i got my internet back but nero is still there - only this time i cannot uninstall because it states it cannot find certain databasesso, i am left with no internal or external disc driver and half of nero which i cannot shift

It started to boot and then I got the error "C:WINDOWSsystem32configsystem is corrupt or missing" And then it rambles on about the recovery console, thats fine and dandy and all but the problem is that this machine was from compaq -_- so the recovery console was built into a secondary partition.
