i would like to know how to or if its possible to uninstall microsoft .net framework. Also what exactly does it even do? I noticed that after installing .net framework 2.0 SP1 cod4 seemed to get odd stuttering issues. I installed .net framework 2.0 SP2 and the stuttering reduced however still more than before i ever installed SP1. Is it possible to uninstall it? and do i need more than just .net framework 3.0?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI Installed the Microsoft .NET Framework because it was listed as a high priority update and it appears that Windows Cardspace was installed with it. Windows Cardspace shows up in control panel as a vertical file such as are in Windows Vista. Also cardspace freezes the computer and keeps it from restarting. Should I uninstall the .NET framework 3.0?The freezing and restarting problems only happens when I'm trying to use cardspace(actually cardspace never loads.)

I did a full HP system restore and the Computer guy who came to my house installed the Service Pack 3, the latest version. I used to have Service Pack 1. I have had quite a few problems since then because of the full system restore and having to re-install alot of my programs, etc. But anyway I noticed today, that down in my system tray (or whatever you call it) on the bottom right of my computer where all the little icons are, there is this Microsoft Updates Automatic Updater with the yellow shield and it said that an update ready to install so I tried installing it. And this is what it said:

What should I do? Do I have to get it all in sync somehow and is this messing up things on my computer? Also does this mean I am missing out on all the correct updates for my computer?
Initially the computer had a spyware infection. While cleaning it up I got a message telling me some windows files had been changed and i needed to insert the Windows XP CD to restore them. Didn't have CD handy at the time, so I installed SP2 hoping it would replace the corrupt files. Soon afterwards I got a message on reboot saying Windows had recovered from a corrupt registry. I was going to do a SFC /scannow, but at some point I was no longer able to boot into Windows.

Works like a charm, but every time I try to install SP2, I lose the screen resolution; it changes to a max of 4 bit color and 480 x xyz pixels as my only choice. I reloaded the monitor drivers for the hp pavilion f50 monitor, but that doesn't help. I finally loaded SP1, and that is fine, but I cant get SP2 to allow decent screen images... and SP3 had some other error when I tried to load it, and it wouldn't even try to install.

For some reason, my PC loads up this TEMP profile only now, as opposed to my normal one.

After this wga.exe got installed my computer get's unstabled and cause several instance of a process called dumprep.exe to consume all your cpu time and memory usage leaving my computer unstable which causes my mouse pointer difficult to control until I end these instance of this process. I know how to unstall this WGA but if I do then I won't get any crital update. Have anyone else experience this problem?

More specifically, Internet Explorer, Outlook, Norton, and HP Precisionscan Pro 3.1 (to name a few) are causing us grief.Outlook will load, but as soon as you try and view a new message, the program crashes.Internet Explorer will open, but immediately closes before any page can load. (I've installed Firefox in the meantime, so I'm sure it's not the internet connection).

It is completely clean of virii/malware/spyware I just installed SP2 on it, and since then it has been exceptionally slow to boot.Following the initial boot screen, the screen goes blank for over 2 minutes It then gets to the black screen with the grey progress bar along the bottom. It fails to install every time and comes back again and again to install. I did a very quick search on this problem and it seems there are problems concerning how Framework was loaded and what versions youo have.First of all, as far as I know, I have only loaded a new Framework version because a program I downloaded informed me I need this new version. I have this stuttering sound when I play MP3, WMA, and MPEG files but it seems to be most noticeable when playing MP3 files in Winamp. The computer is XP Pro SP2 with the latest patches etc. I have tried many things to resolve this stuttering but nothing seems to work. It seems that after a reboot the problem doesn't become apparent right away for what ever reason it takes time for this behavior to start, I don't know what triggers it to start the stutter.

Literally, every second my system has a brief pause or stutter for just a brief moment, like clockwork. From playing a game or video, to just moving a window around on the screen, or even just moving the mouse about, every second it'll just pause or come close to pausing, and then jump to where it should be. I installed Windows XP SP 2 recently. Sometime after doing that and downloading numerous Microsoft updates and updated drivers for my Dell Inspiron 6000, I noticed that my mouse cursor stutters a little bit from time to time as I move it around. I think it happened even after a fresh installation of Winows XP, but I can't remember for sure.
I already run my spybot, adaware, and Avast virus scan, but they haven't fix anything. My drivers are all up to date too I think. Below is my HijackThis log

It is taking about 4 minutes to boot my laptop. Is there anything I can do to speed the boot up and generally get a little better performance out of my machine? I realize this isn't a state of the art machine but it seems to be getting slower.

I have a dell with win xp pro with sp2, 2gb or ram, 2.4ghz intel celleron, i run mcafee securietycenter. My primary use for a computer is internet, video editing, and listing to music. previously i was able to edit videos when some small programs were running, but lately my computer is spiking to 100% cpu usage. now i cant even run a single simple program like winamp or internet explorer with out spiking stuttering, let alone even thinking about opening my video editing program, or editing any video. it stutters and is very slow. It is now very slow to boot, when in the past was a lot faster. Programs are just barley slower in opening. This happens online and offline. and it doesnt seem to matter how long my computer has been on, it happens all the time. I've tryed ad-ware and spybot thinking it was spy ware slowing everything down. didnt help. Is there a program or software that will minimize all unnessary programs or take control of what programs can run?

It was working fine, and then suddenly got extremely slow, and the audio on start-up is broken up/stuttering. When playing videos the audio and video is also stuttering. On Friday, I had a crash and had to reformat HD and reinstall Windows, then sent Auto Update to get everything needed. According to Update History, SP1 downloaded and installed with no problems. However when I look in Add/Remove Programs I only see .NET 1.1 and a Hotfix for it. Should I see something that says SP1 if it's really on my system?
