View 4 Replieshave just got new laptop with Windows 8 and Winmedia 12 and now trying to stream radio stations. It appears that I do not have the required Online Stores --->Media Guide icons or Online Stores line when pressing Alt V.
View 7 Replies View RelatedMy principal problem with my new Windows 8, and which never occurred with XP, Vista or W7, is that if I am streaming a radio programme through Chrome, then wish to work, with Word for example, the radio cuts out until I return to Chrome. How can I make both radio and Word work simultaneously ?
View 9 Replies View RelatedI have three computers that are used for different purposes. I want to be selective on which files/folders have local copies on the different machines. Here's an outline of the system and the goals:
One SkyDrive account with folders F1, F2, F3.
Laptop 1 runs Win7Pro and needs local copies of folders F1, F2, F3
Tablet 2 runs Win8Pro and needs local copies of folders F1, F2
Laptop 3 runs Windows 8.1Pro and needs local copy of F3 only
Can this be done?

View 7 Replies View RelatedI own a ASUS RT-N66U and I have consistent buffering issues (pretty major one at that) and this has gotten worst over time. I can't stream a single 30 minute video without the connection buffering 3-4 times and I'm talking about 30-60 seconds a pop. It's rather annoying. I am also running the latest firmware with my router.
I have one PC in which my router is connected too. I also have the following devices on my network.
Apple TV x2
iPad
iPhone x3
IPod
Recently, I have gotten an ASUS notebook as a gift and I've noticed that there is one big issue with it. Whenever I stream music from Spotify or watch a movie on Netflix, the audio begins to create a crackling static noise. The issue with the stuttering is whenever I have something playing in the background such as Spotify, whenever I begin to switch tabs or load a new site, the audio begins to stutter and mess up. I don't know what the problem is. I've tried updating my drivers. I've tried changing the default playback on my playback device as well but to no avail. My computer has the Realtek High Definition Audio driver. I have heard that Realtek drivers and ASUS machines don't usually function well together but I am not sure if that's the case.
View 6 Replies View RelatedFor a couple weeks I have been streaming shows to my ps3 from my computer. On my PS3 I have access to four folders, Videos, Music, Pictures, and Playlists, the first three of which I can locate on my computer. When I want to watch a video, I simply copy it into the Videos folder on my computer, then stream from there.
Now I'd like to stream music, my problem is that my music isn't in my Music folder, I have it in a separate folder that doesn't show up on my PS3. Copying over all my music would take time, and I'd also have to redo my WMP playlists. I have tried adding this folder to my shared folder list, and to my Music library, but neither of these things made a difference.
I've spent a couple hours now trying to figure this out, but I can't seem to find anything on google that relates to my specific problem, but there is absolutely no way I'm the first person who's ever wanted to access folder's other than the 4 I've mentioned.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI think I got this Event Log error after I upgraded to 8.1 but I' not sure. Anyway, when I go to event viewer I get a message that says "One or more logs in the query have errors" and then is says the Log that it cannot find is "Microsoft-Windows-DxpTaskRingtone/Analytic". I have looked and the log does not exist and OF COURSE when I try to cheat the system and create the log it does not like the "/" in the name! What the heck is going on and how I can tell Windows 8.1 to create the log.
View 9 Replies View RelatedMy Windows cannot be activated. I have tried several different methods of activation but none seem to work. My computer was Windows 8 pre-installed before purchase. Because of this I literally have no product key. I have checked my email and searched for anything that seems Windows related just to make sure of a product key to be found.
Eventually I came across a program that told me my product key. After I found my key, I then tried multiple methods of activation and nothing seemed to have worked. I am running Windows 8 on a 64-bit system. This problem started on the 28th of June and I found out that this could be a hacker attacking my key (using a key-gen and my key being used on another computer) how can I solve this!? any method I will try!
Not sure how to fix this below dcom error.

A lot of people make mention of the weather app and other apps. I've read the threads on eightforums.com about this issue and other ones elsewhere and it seems people recommend different solutions since it looks like different symptons cause this problem. Some talk about making it a local service, others part of System, and changing various ownership permissions. I don't use any metro apps and I did disable the two skydrive tasks that didn't work that cleared up a few dcom errors. It seems the registry settings that people use to fix this error can cause more harm than good so I'd like to avoid changing the registry.
I've uninstalled all my metro apps, even re-installed them, then uninstalled again but still get this error. Strangely, it occurs EXACTLY and only at 10am EST everyday. According to task scheduler, the only event running at this time is the following:
MicrosoftWindowsWindowsBackup (The Scheduled Task notifies the user that Windows backup has not been configured" Last run result: This operation requires an interactive window station (0x800705B3)
Would it be safe to disable this task and do you think this will clear up this dcom error? I don't use filehistory except to occasionally manually create a system image in case I mess something up badly. The system automatically creates system restores each day.
I get this error code every time I try and download the upgrade. It gets to around 16%-22% complete before it stops. I'll come back and I'll see this error screen, screenshot below. I've tried restarting my PC a hundred times and tried re-installing it a hundred times. I bought Windows 8 Pro a few months back. I also went into Window Update and made sure every thing was installed, all are updated to the latest.

Upgraded to windows 8 pro, worked fine for sometime, but now it does not boot- says either error loading operating system or disc read error. Re installed Windows 8 after booting with another hard drive with winXP, worked fine for sometime, then it failed again displaying the same error messages. Been using this system since long, but this has never happened before. I have reinstalled again by the same procedure, but always wary of the same problem happening again.

Recently I updated to 8.1, and now after maybe a week I get the occasional Instruction memory error with 0x000000 type codes.
At one point whenever I logged in it would popup with explorer.exe failed, so I wouldn't be able to do anything on the PC, I restored to a system restore point and it now is gone, however I will see it every now and again. Not a big deal now, but I would like to repair it if possible, as it obviously can't be doing any good for the PC.
