View 2 RepliesI have done several Win 8, Win 8.1 Preview, and Win 8 RTM clean installs recently and I always seem to end up with a Pacific Time Zone by default. Now, that tells me I am either missing that option on a consistent basis or MS didn't include it.

I have got my Acer Iconia W700 and it is good.
But i have 1 problem that i am trying build a Tablet News website on Weebly and when i drag and drop text or other element in the website it is good but when i touch on the text it goes straight to the text editor instead of the bar where you can delete or move and copy the text element and i can't do it because i want to delete the text element and it is getting annoying and it happens with most elements as well.
I tried using it with my Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 7 pen to get to the bar of the element to delete/copy/move the element but it is the same.
Is there a mouse method on the Acer Iconia W700 because i think that would be better selecting without going to the text editor like the text element and goes to the bar(move/delete) elements in my website.
Weebly.com is a drap and drop website builder that is very easy to use.
I run the Cleartype text tuner wizard and chose a thicker text setting but it only works on IE, the rest of programs are unaffected, is there a way to make that wizard work for ALL programs

View 2 Replies View RelatedMy computer rebooted and then started coming up with the message: 'Reboot and select proper Boot device'
Now from what I understand this means that the computer is unable to detect a boot-able OS. I am silly and haven't yet created a windows recovery disk or flash drive.
However my question is, is there a way I can get a recovery utility of some kind off the net so that I can get the computer to detect the boot-able OS ?
I have a very frustrating issue with Windows 8 where my software disappears when I select to open an existing file from within the parent program. It is not minimized and it is not 'off' the screen. I open task manager, and it doesn't exist as a process in any state. The program is Xilinx's ISE for programming FPGA boards.
Before, I get the obvious response that it is an issue with the ISE gui and not Windows 8, I've had a similar problem in another program in Windows 8 in which when I tried to create a new folder in a select file dialog box to save a file, the program would disappear. (Though, I don't recall which program that was.) It's as the program closes completely! (I'm lovin' Linux even more now.)

View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to import pictures from external device (in this case - android phone with PTP) and in the import dialog I've selected "import settings" and then I'm trying to change "Import images to" location, but when I click on Browse and select the same path I was using on windows 7 (on E: partition) I get error "You cannot import to this folder.
Choose another location" which, frankly, doesn't make much sense. I've tried permissions and so forth and I can easily browse and save picture there, I'm the owner and all that. Why Pictures Importer complains and doesn't allow me to use this location? I don't want to import to %profile%/Pictures because it's small-ish system drive :|
I have a a Toshiba Satellite P55t with windows 8.1. Today I used the Toshiba Password utility to set a User password, Rebooted the machine and got a "reboot and select proper device" error. Hitting F12, F2, Esc, nothing works. Putting the recovery DVD in does not work.

Is there a way to create a shortcut to invoke the Switch User to a specific account? What I mean by this: Lets say you 2 users, A and B. The computer starts up and logs into A. Clicking on the account picture of A on the Start screen gives you the option to switch to B. When that is clicked, A is put in the background (not logged of) and B is logged in. Is there a way to automate that process?

When I had Windows 7 I scheduled a task for my laptop to shutdown at 3 a.m. When I would log in the next morning, Chrome would give me the "restore" option so I didn't lose the browser tabs I had been using the night before. Skype would still be logged into, and another program I use nightly, would be logged out, but still on my taskbar.
Now I have Windows 8 and when I used the task scheduler exactly as it had been in Windows 7, everything is gone. I don't get the restore tabs option for Chrome, Skype is completely logged out of, and the other program is shutdown and not in the task bar.
I want to find a way to get it to work as it did in Windows 7. I thought maybe just putting it into hibernation would be the answer, but I can't find clear instructions on how to do this. I tried changing the -s parameter to -h and removing the -f parameter, but this morning when I opened the lid it was as if the computer had just stayed on completely and not gone into hibernation.
