View 8 RepliesWhen I try to download Metro apps from Windows Store, I receive an error message saying "Something happened and this app couldn't be installed. Please try again later. Error code: 0x80010108".
I Googled it and tried to reset Windows Store cache by wsreset.exe but it didn't work. It occurs to every app I try to install.
Is it possible to download free apps from Windows Store directly (without going through "Windows Store" icon/apps in Windows 8.1? I'm having a problem with Windows Store in my OS, whenever I try it, it just said no network connection, but I can surf no problem using FF/Skype etc. If I can go directly to Windows Store website and download the apps directly from there, it'll be awesome, but everytime I tried, it just goes back to my OS Windows Store.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI tried downloading various apps from the store, but the message I get was I can't install this app.For example, I tried to install PDF Reader 8, and I get error code 0x80070032. Does the error code reveal what the problem is? I am running Windows 8, not Windows 8.1, on the Lenovo IdeaPad.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI am having sign in problems with the Windows 8 Games, Music, and Video Apps. This have been happening ever since I started using Windows 8. I have tried reinstalling Windows many time, and also tried it on Windows 8.1, none of them allowed me to sign in.
Here are the screenshots:
Games App - Nothing happens when I click Try Again on the top right corner.
Music and Video App - This message shows when I click Can't Sign In Try Again.
I can only run apps when NOT connected to the internet. Only pre installed apps becauce I can't download new ones. When connected to the internet I can use a browser, use email and go to the apps store. If I try to run any apps they try to open up and then I get the message "Can't log into Xbox" or something like that. I DON'T HAVE AN XBOX. Why do microsoft assume everyone owns all of their products. I have uninstalled everything mention of Xbox but this get the same problem.
I tried to download an app - three days later it was still trying. I just get a blank square on the home screen with some dots scrolling along the bottom of the box. I have tried various apps and nothing ever downloads.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI recently did a refresh of Windows 8, not by choice but I was getting BSOD on boot after a bad install of nfs+ paragon .
Anyways I reinstalled almost everything but I have this problem that I notice as a audio problem at first but seems to be much bigger. I will open a video on youtube say, the video will play but there will be no audio. I go to open the audio control panel or anything pertaining to it, the window for it will either freeze or refuse to open at all. Aside from that, after I noticed this or even before I notice this I also can't open up most apps, noticeably steam games, they will start too load but then freeze on load. No Idea what is causing this and I don't know what else to upgrade driver wise. Very fed up since the refresh could have been avoided in the first place...
I bought a new notebook and went into control panel, Programs, uninstall and uninstalled the online games. But when I go and show All Apps, they still show up. How do I remove them from there? If I right click on the icon of one of the games, it doesn't give me an option to delete it.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI've been having an issue that popped up today. Out of nowhere, my game (age of empires 2 HD) froze for no reason, my audio cut out completely (was listening to youtube in the background), and my skype crashed, along with videos on youtube not able to be watched anymore (they would sit at 0:00 and never advance). I also tried to launch another game after this, and it crashed immediately. My flash plugin also crashes as well. I have had this computer for about a year, and although I've had bluescreens, I've never had this issue.
So far, I have tried restoring my computer to a previous setting. This works for a few hours, but then it reverts back to the crashing of games/videos/skype.
Edit: just incase this could be relevant, I was experiencing BSOD's early after I bought this computer. Here is a thread from the BSOD section about it: WHEA_UNCORRECTABLE_ERROR on new system
I have Windows 8. I am trying to insert an MP3 sound file into my ppt presentation. It will not insert under "sound from file," nor will it insert under "object."
View 4 Replies View RelatedI'm having a problem with certain full-screen apps and games disappearing from the taskbar. I can alt-tab to get back to them, however. I've found the problem affecting Hearthstone, XBMC, and Skyrim.
I'm running Windows 8.1 x64.
I have a dell venue pro. I rented a movie on the pre-installed video app (xbox). I opted to download the movie so I can watch it remotely. I got a download error because of low disc space. The c drive is low on memory but I have a completely empty microsd card with more then enough room for the movie. How can I make the app download onto the msd card instead of the main drive? The app itself has no such option in the settings. I've tried to change the pathway but the app still seems to want to download the the c drive first.
View 1 Replies View RelatedWhen I play games or use any sort of full screen program, it refuse to stay in full screen and flickers to the desktop after a 10-30 minute period...I'm aware this is probably another program trying to take control, but I can't seem to pin it down. I've tried disabling startup programs through task manager and I've also tried ending background process, with no success.

I have an online course where the audio/video files are in itune store, but everytime I click on the link, it said itmss protocol is not registered in Windows, so the only solution seems to download/install iTunes for Windows. I'm trying to use VLC for all my audio/video files, so if I can avoid installing iTunes and still be able to download and watch the course video/audio, would be ideal.
Here are my questions:
- how can I visit itune store and check which free video/audio files are available to download. The ideal would be just click on the link, but everytime I tried that, the FF responded that does not know how to handle it.
- what's the format used by apple for audio/video files in itune store?
- supposed that I could download the video/audio files from itune store, is it possible to play with VLC?
My environment:
- Windows 8.1 pro
- VLC 2.1.3
- 6GB RAM
- intel i3 CPU
ALT-TAB is not working when I am playing online games (Crossfire -develop by SmileGate/Neowiz) and Steam-DOTA2. I just experience it when I upgrade from Windows 8 to Windows 8.1. Is there a workaround on this? I don't want to go back to Windows 7 or 8
View 6 Replies View RelatedI have a couple of files that I am trying to download on my new PC. My new PC has Windows 8.1. The files appear to be downloading but get to 98-99% and then stop. I eventually get an error message. I am not a home posting so I don't have the exact error. It is either oxo or oco 000005. I have Norton 360 and it says the file is safe. The one file I have tried to download multiple times is the Garmin Lifetime Updater. This is an exe. file.

View 9 Replies View RelatedFollow these steps to download the Windows 8.1 ISO from microsoft.
1 • Go here Upgrade Windows with only a product key - Microsoft Windows Support scroll down and click on both 'Install Windows 8' and 'Install Windows 8.1'
2 • Run the Windows 8 setup and enter your retail Windows 8 key, click next and when it begins downloading, STOP it! Exit setup.
3 • Now run the the Windows 8.1 setup. It will produce and error. Exit and then run Windows 8.1 setup again.
It should now be downloading the Windows 8.1 ISO. Afterwards you can save it as an ISO or create the USB media immediately.
4 • After its downloaded Select Install by creating media, and click/tap on Next.
5 • Select ISO file, and click/tap on Save.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI JUST bought a brand new PC a few weeks ago and it came with Windows 8. Last night I tried to load 3-4 of the programs I had gotten previously of CNET and loved.
When I went to the download screen, and clicked the green 'download' button, nothing happened. I tried 2-3 programs. I then tried to reboot and start fresh.
I have 4 user accounts set up, but I am doing this while logged in as the Admin/Main account.
I have had Windows 8 for a few weeks, and I just keep running into quirky issues. Is there any type of blocker I need to turn off or something?
I want to upgrade a computer from Windows 8 to 8.1 but I have a very low download allocation (2GB/month) at that computer. I would like to download the upgrade on another computer (a Mac) that has a much higher download allowance and then transfer that to the computer I need to update. Is this at all possible?
