How To Print From A Browser In 8.1

I have always been able to print from my browser to my network printer. It shows up on the system in my new win8.1 system, but when I try to use CTRL + P to print from Firefox, nothing happens, and its not an option using the context menu. So am I not supposed to print anymore unless I use the apps supplied by windows?
If I select the print option in the hidden menu o the right (Charm?) I get a message "you can only print from an app" Is a browser not an app? I thought that an app was just slang for a program.
I assume that there is a way to print from a browser, or even to an adobe pdf.

I thought "great" it has it's own PDF viewer, no need to install Adobe Reader, but then I went to print is it possible? Am I not seeing a big button that says "PRINT" ?

Windows 8.1 For a while now I have been unable to open URL's outside of my browser - I use Google Chrome. Whenever I click a link I get this error:
I have gone into Set Program Associations and it says HTTP - Unknown Application:
Whenever I chose HTTP and press Save it will not save.

Is it possible my new windows 8 computer does not have a browser installed? It's been a week, I keep searching, can't find one anywhere. I installed chrome on it, that works. I assume I can download IE free from MS, But IE has to already be on this thing someplace. Where is it?

since getting windows 8.1, I find it does not have a right click print option. Others I have contacted say theirs does give right click print, is there a hidden menu somewhere to add options to the right click menu?

A newbie to Windows 8.1 (moving from XP!)...The new PC seemed to detect and install the drivers needed for our Canon MP610 no problem and I have successfully printed from Word. But when I open a saved pdf, it doesn't print: it just endlessly says 'spooling'.

Like the tittle states is it possible for a browser or browser extension to cause memory leak in the non page-pool.
A couple of of day ago I switch over to Opera and had memory leak in the non page-pool that paralyzed the machine till I rebooted.
Asking cause a few days prior I was messing around with a few of my drivers and I have a new motherboard coming and was thinking of just popping the hard drive on without doing a fresh install of windows, since I have an upgrade version of Windows 8.

How do I get this nasty file browser to never show up? I'd really much rather a normal file explorer window pop up.
For example, using Paint Free, I made a nice little picture, then click "Save As". The screen I attached popped up. How do I get this bulky explorer to be replaced by a nice normal File Explorer? It happens in other programs sometimes as well, but I can't think of any other explicit examples.

I was adjusting my monitor settings with Calibrate Display in Windows 8.1 and accidentally clicked 'yes' for Windows ClearType at the end of the adjusting. That's when this problems started. Now my browser is showing bold text in a what looks like the Impact font, I think? It looks stretched out. Here's a screenshot of the problem. As you can see this causes the text to be slightly out of line. I've tried disabling ClearType and resetting Windows fonts, but nothing has worked so far.

I'm running Windows 8.1 and think I have run into the same issue [URL] .....
My Anti-Virus has picked up a program which has removed the default page in question from my Chrome. However, when I open Internet Explorer, that page- "[URL] ...." opens and I have done everything I can to remove it. I've went into the Internet settings and removed it from default pages, etc and changed my homepage, but the page still persists. I believe I have also removed any relevant suspect programs from 'add or remove programs' but the problem page still persists.
Again, the antivirus seems to have removed all trace of 'iStartSurf' from my Google Chrome. I do not use Internet Explorer but these kinds of issues make me quite paranoid. Just whatever I do, Internet Explorer opens with that iStartSurf page.
I've put the iStartSurf page on the blocked site list for Internet Explorer which causes it to load no media on the page when IE opens up. However I'd still like to have it removed altogether.

For some reason my printers no longer work. I tried reinstalling the printers and drivers but got an error message that the printer spooler was no longer functioning. The Print Spooler no longer shows in my Services. I cannot find it in my Registry. Everything I tried when I googled the problem did not work. How do you reinstall a Print Spooler or fix a corrupted spoolsv.exe file In the registry?

I dont have windows 8. She has a new computer with windows 8 built in. Also has a new printer, an Epson WF2530, multi.
She has installed the printer..but is at a total loss as to how to print something, like when in an email, etc..no PRINT option shows up? She has tried to right click and nothing comes up with printer. Somone mentioned using CONTROL P, but not sure if that worked.

Installed a new laser jet printer and can't print multiple pages. Looked the problem up on other forums and it says to disable mopier mode. I can't find this anywhere. Have looked in printer properties and selected device settings tab and it's not there. Is there a different way of doing this on Windows 8 or am I doing completely the wrong thing to solve this problem.

Completed some documents on a site and when I WHEN TO PRINT DOCUMENTS, SCREEN TURNED LIGHT BLUE (COULD SEE SCREEN THROUGH blue, but could not activate any of the check boxes. Got message PDF reader required. Using Windows 8 pro, Office 2013, which has a PDF reader,and IE 10,have downloaded and installed Adobe 11. PDF docs sent as an attachment print without any problem.

I recently installed 8.1 on my new Lenovo. I added the HP printer control app; however, when I attempted to print, I got a "printer offline message." Not sure what is happening, because I installed 8.1 on my HP Pavilion and my Home desktop and I am able to print wireless and wired without a problem.

Is there a way to clear all data, cache... upon opening a browser. I have ccleaner which removes all data so I need to find a way of executing a clean when i press my browser button.
Why I want to do this as i watch alot of catch up and live tv & in my experience it works smoothly if you clear data, cache... before you start the streaming.
I have 2 browsers on my pc. chrome which i only use for non streaming purposes and opera which I use only for video streaming.

After deleting the Browser Choice I keep getting the stupid prompt again the next time I log on to the Internet from INSIDE an EU country the wretched prompt appears again.
Is there any way to disable this POS PERMANENTLY -- I often travel from Outside the EU to inside it.
This stupid Browser prompt must be one of the most idiotic pieces of legislation Politicians ever had to deal with (and I've seen enough stupid politicians in my time).

I am wondering if there is a way that I can use the normal windows file browser when I'm uploading files from a web browser like chrome. I don't mind the metro style UI for file browsing, but it really doesn't work well for when I need to search large amounts of files and things like that.
So basically, let's say I'm in chrome. I click upload from a website -- that takes me to the metro style file browser. I want to go to the windows style browser.

My web browsers only seem to work when Im downloading something with utorrent. If I stop utorrent from downloading, my browser(chrome) no longer loads a website or loads extremely slow. When Im downloading something on utorrent everything is fine, internet works great. I had to limit the download rate so it doesnt use all my speed though. Its kind of like my internet has to charge up by download on utorrent, then feeds my web browser speed and/or connectivity.
The problem seem to have started when I was using connectify to create a hotspot for my neighbor to use for internet off of me without him connecting directly to my wifi. I have uninstalled connectify, did a dns flush, and did a netsh int ip reset.

So, have a client who runs Windows 8. Can't print to any of the printers in their office. They have shared / wireless and a couple of USB connected ones. Each one installed /configured indivdually and the test print will queue up but nothing will happen, it just sits there and does nothing
The ONLY thing i could managed to get to print was through bullzip (pdf creator )
check printer spooler
checked permissions on spooler/printers folder
re-installed printers different ways
they all seem to install just fine, but won't print
Computer has been rebooted several times to no avail. I tried different drivers for each.... ??
This is regular workgroup/ not domain.

I cannot print with Win8anymore! I was able to print on my WIFI networked printers previously with this computer.
Other computers on the network can print to them. Upon investigation, I found that the print spoiler ws off. I found the MS directions for restarting the Spooler. I turned it on it shuts itself off when you look at the installed print drivers!

I downloaded my bank statement today and printed same. Print came out pretty small. Normally, on my windows XP pro, when I did this, the print was normal size, if I can say that. Usually it was a "fit-to-page" thing. I couldn't see a way to download the file and make any modifications. Also, in the past I was using Adobe Reader program. Wondering what program windows 8.1 is using and if I need to download and install the Adobe program and somehow set it as the default program.
