how can i fix iron error: "Class not registered", in windows 8 64 bit! I mention that the error appears when i launch iron from the shortcut taskbar (when i press mouse left click); when i press right click - new iron window, everything is working just fine! What should i do?

I recently purchased an SSD to upgrade my Dell Inspiron 17R SE 7720 that runs Windows 8. This is the SSD I purchased and it came with cloning software: Amazon.com: Samsung Electronics 840 EVO-Series 250GB 2.5-Inch SATA III Single Unit Version Internal Solid State Drive MZ-7TE250BW: Computers & Accessories
I placed it in an external enclosure and cloned my HDD to the SSD using the program. After the cloning procedure the disk management looks like the figure below.
To me this looks good. But when I replace the internal HDD with the SSD it does not boot from the SSD at all. It takes me to the boot options and I don't see the SSD listed anywhere. I may just not be used to the Windows 8 setup.

View 3 Replies View RelatedHere's my issue; I am a math and science teacher in a public middle school and am outfitting my class with thirty brand-new Lenovo touch computers. I consider myself above-average savvy with computers, having worked with every version of Windows extensively since the late 80s and DOS. The only OS that I haven't spent much time on is Windows 8.
These computers are all brand-new and of course have legal copies of Windows 8 -- irritatingly, though not yet updated to 8.1. Soo...It took me a larger part of one day just to get ONE of these computers ready for class use. It involved several stages of the Windows update/reboot dance, followed by removing myriad unneeded bloatware applications, setting up multiple child accounts on the machine, and finally installing some freeware educational materials needed for instruction. It was all unbelievably tedious!
I turned around and look at all the remaining twenty-nine computers with dread. Obviously I'm trying to work out some kind of shortcut to avoid having to spend my whole summer updating each of the new machines individually. In an ideal world, I would make some sort of image of the machine that I just spent several hours updating/configuring, and then replicate that across the other twenty-nine. In terms of hardware, this shouldn't be a problem since all of the machines are exactly the same make and model. But I anticipate other problems such as, for example, the serial number of the Windows version and the computer name will then be the same on all the machines and have to be adjusted. There very well could be other issues with replicated serial numbers, etc.
I'm thinking maybe I just have to bite the bullet and work at each individual computer one of the time. And then image them individually so that when the kids mess around with them, I can do an easy restore. How I could make this work?
I have always been able to print from my browser to my network printer. It shows up on the system in my new win8.1 system, but when I try to use CTRL + P to print from Firefox, nothing happens, and its not an option using the context menu. So am I not supposed to print anymore unless I use the apps supplied by windows?
If I select the print option in the hidden menu o the right (Charm?) I get a message "you can only print from an app" Is a browser not an app? I thought that an app was just slang for a program.
I assume that there is a way to print from a browser, or even to an adobe pdf.

Like the tittle states is it possible for a browser or browser extension to cause memory leak in the non page-pool.
A couple of of day ago I switch over to Opera and had memory leak in the non page-pool that paralyzed the machine till I rebooted.
Asking cause a few days prior I was messing around with a few of my drivers and I have a new motherboard coming and was thinking of just popping the hard drive on without doing a fresh install of windows, since I have an upgrade version of Windows 8.
It happened when i downloaded nhancer from cent.com the malware came with it and after using malware bytes and hitman pro to clean the pc still i get the ads i don't know what to do next.

For example, using Paint Free, I made a nice little picture, then click "Save As". The screen I attached popped up. How do I get this bulky explorer to be replaced by a nice normal File Explorer? It happens in other programs sometimes as well, but I can't think of any other explicit examples.
I was adjusting my monitor settings with Calibrate Display in Windows 8.1 and accidentally clicked 'yes' for Windows ClearType at the end of the adjusting. That's when this problems started. Now my browser is showing bold text in a what looks like the Impact font, I think? It looks stretched out. Here's a screenshot of the problem. As you can see this causes the text to be slightly out of line. I've tried disabling ClearType and resetting Windows fonts, but nothing has worked so far.

My Anti-Virus has picked up a program which has removed the default page in question from my Chrome. However, when I open Internet Explorer, that page- "[URL] ...." opens and I have done everything I can to remove it. I've went into the Internet settings and removed it from default pages, etc and changed my homepage, but the page still persists. I believe I have also removed any relevant suspect programs from 'add or remove programs' but the problem page still persists.
Again, the antivirus seems to have removed all trace of 'iStartSurf' from my Google Chrome. I do not use Internet Explorer but these kinds of issues make me quite paranoid. Just whatever I do, Internet Explorer opens with that iStartSurf page.
I've put the iStartSurf page on the blocked site list for Internet Explorer which causes it to load no media on the page when IE opens up. However I'd still like to have it removed altogether.
I am using IE11.x for my default browser but have a site that I go to often that requires Chrome.
I am wondering if there is a way to set a desktop shortcut for the specific url and have that url opened in chrome while keeping IE as my default browser?

Why I want to do this as i watch alot of catch up and live tv & in my experience it works smoothly if you clear data, cache... before you start the streaming.
I have 2 browsers on my pc. chrome which i only use for non streaming purposes and opera which I use only for video streaming.
After deleting the Browser Choice I keep getting the stupid prompt again the next time I log on to the Internet from INSIDE an EU country the wretched prompt appears again.
Is there any way to disable this POS PERMANENTLY -- I often travel from Outside the EU to inside it.

I am wondering if there is a way that I can use the normal windows file browser when I'm uploading files from a web browser like chrome. I don't mind the metro style UI for file browsing, but it really doesn't work well for when I need to search large amounts of files and things like that.

My web browsers only seem to work when Im downloading something with utorrent. If I stop utorrent from downloading, my browser(chrome) no longer loads a website or loads extremely slow. When Im downloading something on utorrent everything is fine, internet works great. I had to limit the download rate so it doesnt use all my speed though. Its kind of like my internet has to charge up by download on utorrent, then feeds my web browser speed and/or connectivity.
The problem seem to have started when I was using connectify to create a hotspot for my neighbor to use for internet off of me without him connecting directly to my wifi. I have uninstalled connectify, did a dns flush, and did a netsh int ip reset.
I'm using Windows 8.1 with the latest updated google chrome browser.

I don't get it. I'm on a page. I click a link. I only stay on the new page for maybe 5 seconds. I click the Back Button. I get "connecting" like the word will change in 5 seconds? There's like zero efficiency. I think there should be a setting.
I'm currently on Waterfox 24.0. Pretty nice browser. But it's bizarre that something built for speed makes you wait on every Back Button press.
I recently encountered a problem where my browsers (IE and Firefox) and email stopped working. I know I have an internet connection - I can ping Google for example. And I have other laptops that are working fine. The weird thing is when I reboot I can sometimes use the browser or email but after a couple of minutes it stops again (stuck in waiting for google.com). This has been going on for a week now. I tried restoring from earlier but still doesn't work. I've tried resetting DNS and WINSOCK and TCP - makes no difference. I'm running Norton and Malwarebytes.

I was not able to find the results I needed via Google keywords, I have all my personal files (music, videos, photos, documents) on a separate hard drive so the library folders are directed to the HDD. I was keeping my music specifically on another disc and have now moved the collection onto my files disc so you see the "D:" folder which is the missing music drive directory and I do not know how to delete it.
I need to add a Music folder into the library but do not know how...or change the name of the "D:" folder to "Music" and point it to my the files HDD.
YouTube videos crash Chrome each and every time. The videos play perfectly in Internet Explorer.

But once the computer connects to the network, it requires a login using the browser, where i give my login, password and must check a box with the agreement with the access terms.
Everytime i open my computer there i must do this routine.
I'd like to know if it is possible to aumotate this process, allowing the computer to do this login every time it detects the network connection.
I've already done this with my android phone, but i didn't find a way to the windows 8.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI just installed windows 8 and thought everything was fine. But then when I went to download a driver from the internet, I figured out it really isn't. I have Atheros AR8151 gigabit network adapter installed in my Sony Vaio, and it had been disabled automatically, I had to download driver from its own site and install it. After that it didnt get disabled on its own and when I could finally access internet, I was shocked once again.
I tried to download a bluetooth driver from Sony's website but no matter what browser or download manager I tried to download it from, it wouldn't I thought it was limited to just that website and went on to download another driver but it wouldn't either. On chrome it would start as usual download and eventually decrease the speed until the error was shown, while the download speed was going down, the ETA and downloaded size didn't change.
And while using Firefox it started the download as usual but after a while it would freeze and i had to press pause and play to get it downloading but the freezing thing happened too much(chrome wouldn't respond to pause and play). Then i tried a download manager and it showed similar problem as Firefox. The thing is I can browse the internet perfectly fine although it feels a bit slow, the problem is i cant download anything.
So i was playing halo 2 pc when i got a voice message. Since i always use my trusty mic headset i click play on the message and it said no playback device detected and I tried fixing it within game options but it didn't work! and my browser doesn't either. I tried to record my voice but mic wasn't detected?! and my screen recorder catches it perfectly fine and i can hear my self in the video. Whats happening?!. I tried everything from changing default mic option and other things but it wont work and this happened when i first got this pc up here but I tried this time.
