I already knew this: Go to desktop, right click the taskbar => Toolbar => Touch keyboard. Now what, how can I make the touch keyboard popup inside Yahoo Mail app?
I just got a laptop that has a touch keyboard which I never plan to use. I have Start8 running and I use only the desktop UI. I go to task bar properties/toolbars and uncheck the touch keyboard apply and OK, and the icon disappears as it should. But when I restart it has returned. Is there a way to get rid of it..
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a Transformer Book T100. For those unfamiliar, it is a tablet/laptop hybrid running full windows 8.1 (not RT). The screen separates from the keyboard dock at the push of a button and can be snapped back in easily.
Here's my problem: when the keyboard dock is connected, the touch keyboard still comes up on the screen if I tap a text field, resizing the current app and hogging resources. Is there a way to completely disable the touch keyboard when the physical keyboard is connected, yet have it fully available when the physical keyboard is disconnected? I have only found methods to either disable it all the time, or enable it all the time.
I have a dell xps 12, for some reason I can't find a way to make the on screen keyboard appear automatically when I click a text entry field, like it does on phones.
I have to manually select it from the task bar each time when I use it as a tablet.
Unchecking it in the toolbar of the task band remove the icon only till next reboot(!)

But i have 1 problem that i am trying build a Tablet News website on Weebly and when i drag and drop text or other element in the website it is good but when i touch on the text it goes straight to the text editor instead of the bar where you can delete or move and copy the text element and i can't do it because i want to delete the text element and it is getting annoying and it happens with most elements as well.
I tried using it with my Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 7 pen to get to the bar of the element to delete/copy/move the element but it is the same.
Is there a mouse method on the Acer Iconia W700 because i think that would be better selecting without going to the text editor like the text element and goes to the bar(move/delete) elements in my website.

Recently, I have a hybrid laptop (Lenovo Yoga 2 13). It recognizes my different laptop positions, so the keyboard is disabled when I rotate the screen.
But when I use it in laptop mode (using regular keyboard to type), I still get the touch keyboard on screen when I touch the screen on a writing field. How can I disable the touch keyboard if I use the tablet in laptop mode?

It used to work just fine a couple of days ago but as of yesterday or so it stopped working. I click the keyboard icon but nothing happens. This still happens after resetting.
I've been having this odd problem for awhile now. I use the touch keyboard on my non touch pc just for onscreen convenience. More often than not, for some unknown and odd reason, if I press a key, it will type a foreign language instead. It seems to be reverting to a German font. Or where the setting for this would be. My language fonts for the pc are all set to US English as far as I know. I think it depends on how long I hold the key down. I'm not sure. Is there a language setting just for the touch keyboard that I'm missing? This is totally different from the regular onscreen keyboard. I'm specifically using the one that says Touch. And I'm running Win 8.1 I have checked my pc's language settings and they are for US English. So what would make the touch keyboard keep reverting to a German font? I know it's German because it's typing the Eszett, that's the s that looks like a B. And it does other foreign characters as well.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have a Thinkpad X61 Tablet. It was running Windows 7 Ultimate before I upgraded to Windows 8 Pro. When I invoked the Touch Keyboard in Desktop mode, the window would automatically resize as I type (i.e. window on top, keyboard below). However, this weekend I performed a clean install of Windows 8 since I wasn't happy with some of the quirks from an upgrade. Now, I can no longer get the automatic screen resize when I initiate the Touch Keyboard (i.e. window stays behind keyboard, making it hard to see what I am typing). Are there settings I need to change? Is it something that was carried over from Windows 7 during my upgrade but I deleted it with my clean install?
Update: Just figured out how to get the automatic resize. You have to maximize the Touch Keyboard. I guess I must have been using it in maximized form without realizing it.
The touch screen keyboard click sound suddenly reduced loudness. This is happening on my DVP 11 running win 8.1
Used to be much louder, then this afterneed it just went soft on me. Is there a setting somewhere to restore the keyboard click loudness?
I cannot get the touch keyboard or picture password to come up consistently at logon screen. I had to go to services to make the touch-service work with desktop and logon (it was unchecked). Now, at fresh start-up or restart I can get the keyboard by touch but will not get it again if I log off and log back on. And under no conditions do I get the picture password option although I have a picture set up for it.

I have a lot of files who are stored into folders (~ 2-3K worth of folders with 2-20 files in each folder) and I need to search in each one to see if there are any files that are similar in name. None will be exactly the same so I need to only compare the first 10 characters and if there are 2 files that have the same characters, then I need to have them displayed so I can decide if I should delete one. The problem with commercial duplicate detectors is they match the entire name or the CRC of a file which in this case will be different.

It's been like this for a while and I have probably installed half a dozen programs etc. so I don't know what did it. View 9 Replies View RelatedI have a number of special fonts (all are .ttf) that I installed, and some that came with software for use with the programs. All of these fonts worked fine when installed on my Windows 7 64-bit computer.
I have installed all of these fonts on my Windows 8 64-bit computer, and some of the characters on the fonts do not show. Windows has substituted other characters in place of these.
Yet when I open the font in a third party program like Font Creator, all of the characters on the font appear true.
Is there a setting in Windows 8 that I need to adjust so the characters will show as they are supposed to?

Some files, when open with notepad, can be easily read in English. For other ones, I get characters. How could I read these characters, is there any online translator for this? or I should learn basic C++ or other means?
When putting the arrow to the top, another bar in the upper left hand corner is a big E and what ever web page i'm on is what comes up on the screen. but I would put several photos across the top of different bar (the one with the house, star, and gear is on). so when I put the arrow on the big E, a bunch of small photos show up. allowing me to just touch the photo (with the arrow) I need for that page work it would fill the screen. just moving the arrow back and forth moves each photo into view but now when I touch the big E a big blue box drops down when I touch the photo on the box, the blue box blocks half the photo. how do I get rid of this blue box so I can get back to the same speed I was working at?
View 9 Replies View RelatedThe touch input in this device is so bad i have to use my stylus pen to browse webs(i can never touch the back page button on google chrome instead it touches the forward page button instead),close programs(touch the top of the screen and pulling it down never works), opening the charm bar(swiping my finger from the right of the screen to the left never works too).
I tried calibrating it by searching calibrate on the charm bar's search feature but they doesn't work as well.
Its getting so annoying because i can't use the touch screen feature at all because its not precise.
Not sure if it's commonly known but a nice easy way to rotate the screen in Windows 8 is press CTRL+ALT+Arrow keys -- found this quite useful sometimes when messing around in Photoshop
View 9 Replies View RelatedInstalled it on a Fusion Garage JooJoo tablet that has a Intel Atom N270 cpu, Nvidia ION graphics, 128gb SSD, and 4gb memory. I have everything working on it accept for the accelorometer and the touch screen is reversed (i touch the top right and it touches the bottom left).
I've tried calibrating it through windows and all that does is cause the touch input to go completely crazy. I have tried multiple drivers and the only one that even remotely works is the eGalax driver but that causes the touch screen to be seen as a mouse which makes the swipe gestures impossible as well as the built in touch keyboard won't come up anymore.
I'm not worried about the accelorometer as I can just change the orientation in the nvidia control panel if need be. However having a tablet without a fully functional touch screen is pretty much useless.
The touch screen shows up in Device Manager as an HID device.
