Installed it on a Fusion Garage JooJoo tablet that has a Intel Atom N270 cpu, Nvidia ION graphics, 128gb SSD, and 4gb memory. I have everything working on it accept for the accelorometer and the touch screen is reversed (i touch the top right and it touches the bottom left).
I've tried calibrating it through windows and all that does is cause the touch input to go completely crazy. I have tried multiple drivers and the only one that even remotely works is the eGalax driver but that causes the touch screen to be seen as a mouse which makes the swipe gestures impossible as well as the built in touch keyboard won't come up anymore.
I'm not worried about the accelorometer as I can just change the orientation in the nvidia control panel if need be. However having a tablet without a fully functional touch screen is pretty much useless.
The touch screen shows up in Device Manager as an HID device.
Device HIDVID_0EEF&PID_720C&Col016&25a26708&2&0000 was configured.
Right so I want to disable my touch screen because my friends at collage are very good about pissing me off (as banter). And I would like to know how I can disable it with the push of a button.
I have a HP 310 1120a touchsmart all in one pc and my system is saying limited touch support 2 fingers, so as you can guess my touchscreen isn't working, but was under windows 7 when i got it, sometimes it works in windows 8 but not anymore, have updated all drivers but still nothing.... How to get it running again if i can .
I would like to put a touch screen out in an open lobby area with an program running on it, but i would like to lock the screen so if anyone touches the screen to make changes to the program they would have to enter a password, the screen will be on 24/7.
I'm struggling to see the purpose of the Metro Start Screen unless the computer has a touch screen. Other than the Apps and the few Live tiles - programs I've installed open on the regular desktop when I click on the tile.
My problem is not the charms bar, that activates when touching the mouse (touch) pad, but the same charms bar, that appears when touching the screen on my tablet.
You can disabuse me and show me a website or a forum link but after 4 hours of research I am done for now.
I have a touch screen monitor on my windows 8 machine. It works fine but I have this issue. Every morning when booting PC, I have to disconnect the monitor USB cable and reconnect for the touch screen to work.
If I reboot the PC at any point after this it is fine works no problem, it just happens when pc has been left off over night.
In device manager set all usb hubs to not switch off power but can't think of anything else to do.
I think this may relate to updating this netbook from Win 8 to 8.1 (but I updated very soon after purchasing so not certain). Basically after several minutes of use, the Touchscreen doesn't respond to touch anymore. I can still use trackpad but no touchscreen.
I have installed latest updates (and drivers from Lenovo site), but still no joy. I've also tried recalibrating touch screen (via Control Panel app) but this hasn't worked (and "reset" option is greyed out).
I purchased a Samsung Ativ tab gt-P8510 but after a windows 8 RT update the touch screen stopped responding and now I have to use a mouse to work on it.
Just got a new laptop which came with windows 8, It's an Asus Zenbook UX302LG. I tried Windows 8 a bit during the developer preview, but I'm really not that familiar with things, anywho. So this has a touch screen, and I've been using it a fair bit, but I'm curious about 8.1. Being the "newer" version", from what I've seen it has some improvements over regular 8 in some areas, like the apps screen looks a little tidier.
What I'm wondering though is does it also remove some of the touch features I would be using with a touch screen? Or just make them more mouse friendly. Long story short, given I have a touch screen which I am using, should I upgrade to Windows 8.1? Or will I have a better experience with regular 8?
My touch screen to my Aspire R7 laptop is no longer working. I got a notification about there not being enough power reaching the USB port, and it stopped working after that. I'm not connected to the internet, so it's not a bad update, but I don't know what the problem is, or how to fix it. When I go to PC Info, it says "No pen or touch input is available for this display" which I know is not true because I've been using it's touch screen the entire time I've had it.
a common problem is that the drivers aren't updated. I don't think this is my problem as I haven't installed any updates today (I haven't been connected to the internet) and it's been working fine prior to just now.
The battery is fully charged (and was at 50% when I got the notification), so the power shouldn't be an issue.

I have a Thinkpad X61 Tablet. It was running Windows 7 Ultimate before I upgraded to Windows 8 Pro. When I invoked the Touch Keyboard in Desktop mode, the window would automatically resize as I type (i.e. window on top, keyboard below). However, this weekend I performed a clean install of Windows 8 since I wasn't happy with some of the quirks from an upgrade. Now, I can no longer get the automatic screen resize when I initiate the Touch Keyboard (i.e. window stays behind keyboard, making it hard to see what I am typing). Are there settings I need to change? Is it something that was carried over from Windows 7 during my upgrade but I deleted it with my clean install?
Update: Just figured out how to get the automatic resize. You have to maximize the Touch Keyboard. I guess I must have been using it in maximized form without realizing it.
the screen on my lenovo ideapad Z500 touch has dimmed and i can't adjust it back. i've tried the all the brightness settings i can find adn even updated the drivers but this hasn't worked,
I cannot get the touch keyboard or picture password to come up consistently at logon screen. I had to go to services to make the touch-service work with desktop and logon (it was unchecked). Now, at fresh start-up or restart I can get the keyboard by touch but will not get it again if I log off and log back on. And under no conditions do I get the picture password option although I have a picture set up for it.
When putting the arrow to the top, another bar in the upper left hand corner is a big E and what ever web page i'm on is what comes up on the screen. but I would put several photos across the top of different bar (the one with the house, star, and gear is on). so when I put the arrow on the big E, a bunch of small photos show up. allowing me to just touch the photo (with the arrow) I need for that page work it would fill the screen. just moving the arrow back and forth moves each photo into view but now when I touch the big E a big blue box drops down when I touch the photo on the box, the blue box blocks half the photo. how do I get rid of this blue box so I can get back to the same speed I was working at?
The touch input in this device is so bad i have to use my stylus pen to browse webs(i can never touch the back page button on google chrome instead it touches the forward page button instead),close programs(touch the top of the screen and pulling it down never works), opening the charm bar(swiping my finger from the right of the screen to the left never works too).
I tried calibrating it by searching calibrate on the charm bar's search feature but they doesn't work as well.
Its getting so annoying because i can't use the touch screen feature at all because its not precise.
Not sure if it's commonly known but a nice easy way to rotate the screen in Windows 8 is press CTRL+ALT+Arrow keys -- found this quite useful sometimes when messing around in Photoshop
My laptop running windows 8.1 (not a touch screen) - I would like to know how to use the Touch Keyboard in the windows store app. I have the Yahoo Mail app downloaded from the windows store, I want to open the Touch Keyboard inside the Yahoo Mail app so that I can insert the emoji icons.
I already knew this: Go to desktop, right click the taskbar => Toolbar => Touch keyboard. Now what, how can I make the touch keyboard popup inside Yahoo Mail app?
I am running an app that has buttons with momentary action, ie when you click and hold the button stays down, releases when you release the mouse button. At the moment I am stumped at how to replicate this with the touch interface. I have disabled the hold for right click option but still no good.
It looks as though the click action is done once you take your finger off the screen.
I have a Duo 11 (Sony VAIO Tablet Laptop | VAIO Duo 11 Ultrabook | SVD11215CXB | Sony USA this one) and one day I plugged in my mouse and suddenly the touch screen stopped working and after digging around in the device manager and settings i can find nothing except for this, "no pen or touch input is available for this display".
I just got a laptop that has a touch keyboard which I never plan to use. I have Start8 running and I use only the desktop UI. I go to task bar properties/toolbars and uncheck the touch keyboard apply and OK, and the icon disappears as it should. But when I restart it has returned. Is there a way to get rid of it..
I have a Transformer Book T100. For those unfamiliar, it is a tablet/laptop hybrid running full windows 8.1 (not RT). The screen separates from the keyboard dock at the push of a button and can be snapped back in easily.
Here's my problem: when the keyboard dock is connected, the touch keyboard still comes up on the screen if I tap a text field, resizing the current app and hogging resources. Is there a way to completely disable the touch keyboard when the physical keyboard is connected, yet have it fully available when the physical keyboard is disconnected? I have only found methods to either disable it all the time, or enable it all the time.
I am having problem with the touch keypad. It is not displaying some buttons such as that of alt, caps , windows key etc. They are all present on the On-screen Keyboard but not on the touch keypad. Although I am using touch keypad without any touch devices, I like the touch keypad more than OSK due to it's sliding feature. How to bring full layout to touch keypad. I think Windows is not providing me any option cause I don't have any touch enabled devices on my PC. How to do it from registry or configuration file or anything like that.
