I have the touch keyboard toolbar enabled in Windows 8. I'm talking about this:
It used to work just fine a couple of days ago but as of yesterday or so it stopped working. I click the keyboard icon but nothing happens. This still happens after resetting.

I have a dell xps 12, for some reason I can't find a way to make the on screen keyboard appear automatically when I click a text entry field, like it does on phones.
I have to manually select it from the task bar each time when I use it as a tablet.
I just got a laptop that has a touch keyboard which I never plan to use. I have Start8 running and I use only the desktop UI. I go to task bar properties/toolbars and uncheck the touch keyboard apply and OK, and the icon disappears as it should. But when I restart it has returned. Is there a way to get rid of it..
View 3 Replies View RelatedRecently, I have a hybrid laptop (Lenovo Yoga 2 13). It recognizes my different laptop positions, so the keyboard is disabled when I rotate the screen.
But when I use it in laptop mode (using regular keyboard to type), I still get the touch keyboard on screen when I touch the screen on a writing field. How can I disable the touch keyboard if I use the tablet in laptop mode?
The touch screen keyboard click sound suddenly reduced loudness. This is happening on my DVP 11 running win 8.1
Used to be much louder, then this afterneed it just went soft on me. Is there a setting somewhere to restore the keyboard click loudness?
I cannot get the touch keyboard or picture password to come up consistently at logon screen. I had to go to services to make the touch-service work with desktop and logon (it was unchecked). Now, at fresh start-up or restart I can get the keyboard by touch but will not get it again if I log off and log back on. And under no conditions do I get the picture password option although I have a picture set up for it.

App that works well with Windows 8.1, to make clickety sounds when you type on a regular keyboard? You know, so it will sound like a typewriter or something like that. Something that gives you a little audio feedback when you type, but doesn't have gimmicky, "funny" sounds.
I tried ClicKey, which is a good program because you can adjust the sound level, but it didn't work well for me. It stopped clicking after while.I also tried KSG, but it didn't work at all. I tried quertick, and it works fine, but you can't adjust the sound level.
I have a HP 310 1120a touchsmart all in one pc and my system is saying limited touch support 2 fingers, so as you can guess my touchscreen isn't working, but was under windows 7 when i got it, sometimes it works in windows 8 but not anymore, have updated all drivers but still nothing.... How to get it running again if i can .
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a touch screen monitor on my windows 8 machine. It works fine but I have this issue. Every morning when booting PC, I have to disconnect the monitor USB cable and reconnect for the touch screen to work.
If I reboot the PC at any point after this it is fine works no problem, it just happens when pc has been left off over night.
In device manager set all usb hubs to not switch off power but can't think of anything else to do.
My touch screen to my Aspire R7 laptop is no longer working. I got a notification about there not being enough power reaching the USB port, and it stopped working after that. I'm not connected to the internet, so it's not a bad update, but I don't know what the problem is, or how to fix it. When I go to PC Info, it says "No pen or touch input is available for this display" which I know is not true because I've been using it's touch screen the entire time I've had it.
a common problem is that the drivers aren't updated. I don't think this is my problem as I haven't installed any updates today (I haven't been connected to the internet) and it's been working fine prior to just now.
The battery is fully charged (and was at 50% when I got the notification), so the power shouldn't be an issue.

I am being driven mad by the clicking sound every time I do a keystroke on my wireless keyboard, how do I turn it off? Have disabled windows sounds so none play. I have gone into typing in PC settings and the turn sounds off is not there.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a Transformer Book T100. For those unfamiliar, it is a tablet/laptop hybrid running full windows 8.1 (not RT). The screen separates from the keyboard dock at the push of a button and can be snapped back in easily.
Here's my problem: when the keyboard dock is connected, the touch keyboard still comes up on the screen if I tap a text field, resizing the current app and hogging resources. Is there a way to completely disable the touch keyboard when the physical keyboard is connected, yet have it fully available when the physical keyboard is disconnected? I have only found methods to either disable it all the time, or enable it all the time.
I have installed Windows 8 release preview on my touchsmart tx2 1005AU and touch screen functionality has stopped working altogether.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI am running an app that has buttons with momentary action, ie when you click and hold the button stays down, releases when you release the mouse button. At the moment I am stumped at how to replicate this with the touch interface. I have disabled the hold for right click option but still no good.
It looks as though the click action is done once you take your finger off the screen.
I have a Duo 11 (Sony VAIO Tablet Laptop | VAIO Duo 11 Ultrabook | SVD11215CXB | Sony USA this one) and one day I plugged in my mouse and suddenly the touch screen stopped working and after digging around in the device manager and settings i can find nothing except for this, "no pen or touch input is available for this display".
View 2 Replies View RelatedWe purchased 15 Surface Pro 2 tablets for our School Administrators. Touch did not work for 3 tablet 'out of the box'...or so I thought. Since receiving them, touch has stopped working on 5 more. Each time Microsoft has replaced the device without question so I assumed this was a known issue. However I am now pretty sure it is happening during my imaging process. I am using SCCM 2012, via PXE and/or USB. The Task Sequence completes successfully and all drivers appear to install. I am using the driver package from Microsoft. The stylus works but not touch. I can't complain about the support MS is providing since they replace the device every time but I am sure there must be a fix I have not tried.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI have a surface pro 1 with windows 8.1 installed. When I am on the metro screen and I click the Internet Explorer tile, I am sent to the desktop and the desktop version IE opens. How do I rein-able the touch version of IE.
I have IE 11 installed. I also have classic shell installed.
My problem is not the charms bar, that activates when touching the mouse (touch) pad, but the same charms bar, that appears when touching the screen on my tablet.
You can disabuse me and show me a website or a forum link but after 4 hours of research I am done for now.
I think this may relate to updating this netbook from Win 8 to 8.1 (but I updated very soon after purchasing so not certain). Basically after several minutes of use, the Touchscreen doesn't respond to touch anymore. I can still use trackpad but no touchscreen.
I have installed latest updates (and drivers from Lenovo site), but still no joy. I've also tried recalibrating touch screen (via Control Panel app) but this hasn't worked (and "reset" option is greyed out).
Let the Duo 11 'draw' you in - The Nation / Are there any other? I have some kids who all love to draw, one even uses photoshop.

I've read quite a few posts concerning the charm bar (read: disabling it). These posts all seem to focus around the touchpad settings.
However, what I want is to make sure the charm bar doesn't appear when I'm (right edge) swiping my touch screen.

Unchecking it in the toolbar of the task band remove the icon only till next reboot(!)
View 14 Replies View RelatedI bought the Asus Zenbook Touch (ux31a-bhi5t11) yesterday, and the 2 finger scrolling worked fine at first, but a couple hours later it just stopped working. I can scroll using the touch screen, but not the touch pad now. It's brand new, and I haven't touched any of the settings, so I don't know why it would just quit.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI've been having this odd problem for awhile now. I use the touch keyboard on my non touch pc just for onscreen convenience. More often than not, for some unknown and odd reason, if I press a key, it will type a foreign language instead. It seems to be reverting to a German font. Or where the setting for this would be. My language fonts for the pc are all set to US English as far as I know. I think it depends on how long I hold the key down. I'm not sure. Is there a language setting just for the touch keyboard that I'm missing? This is totally different from the regular onscreen keyboard. I'm specifically using the one that says Touch. And I'm running Win 8.1 I have checked my pc's language settings and they are for US English. So what would make the touch keyboard keep reverting to a German font? I know it's German because it's typing the Eszett, that's the s that looks like a B. And it does other foreign characters as well.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have a Thinkpad X61 Tablet. It was running Windows 7 Ultimate before I upgraded to Windows 8 Pro. When I invoked the Touch Keyboard in Desktop mode, the window would automatically resize as I type (i.e. window on top, keyboard below). However, this weekend I performed a clean install of Windows 8 since I wasn't happy with some of the quirks from an upgrade. Now, I can no longer get the automatic screen resize when I initiate the Touch Keyboard (i.e. window stays behind keyboard, making it hard to see what I am typing). Are there settings I need to change? Is it something that was carried over from Windows 7 during my upgrade but I deleted it with my clean install?
Update: Just figured out how to get the automatic resize. You have to maximize the Touch Keyboard. I guess I must have been using it in maximized form without realizing it.
Does the Nokia Lumia Icon can be updated to 8.1 yet?
I do not want to buy it unless I know and I have been to At+T Verizon and called each. I also have used the web for information. I still cannot get a definitive answer. I could not get through to Nokia or Verizon tech support.
I have got my Acer Iconia W700 and it is good.
But i have 1 problem that i am trying build a Tablet News website on Weebly and when i drag and drop text or other element in the website it is good but when i touch on the text it goes straight to the text editor instead of the bar where you can delete or move and copy the text element and i can't do it because i want to delete the text element and it is getting annoying and it happens with most elements as well.
I tried using it with my Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 7 pen to get to the bar of the element to delete/copy/move the element but it is the same.
Is there a mouse method on the Acer Iconia W700 because i think that would be better selecting without going to the text editor like the text element and goes to the bar(move/delete) elements in my website.

Windows 8 device (Dell XPS 12 i7 running Windows 8.1 Pro). I like the touch input when it is flat in tablet mode, but when I plug a USB mouse into it when I am at my desk, I want the mouse inputs to be treated exactly like finger inputs on the touch screen. For example, scrolling by touching/clicking anywhere in a window or the ability to flick things using my mouse like I can with my finger. Simply using the mouse makes everything behave like it did in Windows 7: Clicking and dragging selects things instead of scrolling in Office 2013. I don't want this, I want it behave like Android does when I plug a mouse into it: Just like a finger was there.
I have looked everywhere for such a setting, but I cannot find one. How can I achieve this? I want all mouse inputs to be treated exactly like touch inputs.
