I have two headsets that I've used in the past with ps3, 3 win7 laptops and my iphone with no issues and are still working fine but Windows 8 cant discover them however its finding my ps3, xbox and a cellphone.
Connecting the headsets to the computer with usb shows the devices names but no drivers install.

My laptop took a bit of a fall about a week ago - but grabbed it by the screen before it fell directly on the floor (near miss). Now yesterday, when the mouse pad on the laptop froze up, I drummed on it a bit to get it working and the laptop suddenly shut off and this message appears when trying to start up: BootDevice Not Found. Please install an operating system on your hard disk. I am not sure if it is relevant to the physical damage or if it is software related?
View 2 Replies View RelatedFirst my computer when bought came pre installed with Windows 7. As soon as Windows 8 came out I upgraded to Windows 8. My system is BIOS not UEFI. I have about 3gb ram and 500gb hdd drive 2.20 ghz processor. Windows 8 runs really smoothly. So recently 2-3 days ago I decided to dual boot Ubuntu with Windows 8. Before when I had Windows 7 I dual booted it with Windows 8. So now I thought about dual booting with Ubuntu 12.04 LTS. The Installation process was fine until I take out the installation usb with Ubuntu and whenever I try to restart it the PC would hang on the oem screen for a while which is ridiculously long.
Then when I would boot into Windows 8 and sign in I would get a notification message saying the last storage device you plugged in isn't found. I went to the device manager in Windows and it would say an unknown device has been found and even if I tried to Uninstall it would come back again. I tried searching for updates but nothing came up. I googled it and got no results. What annoys me the most is the PC hanging on the oem screen. Right now I fresh installed Windows 8 so it's the only OS running at the moment. But I want Ubuntu 12.04 LTS because of git, ssh and all the server side stuff. I have also posted the error screenshot for more info.
I was listening to music and surfing net on my Windows 8 running HP 650 laptop, when suddenly everything froze.I restarted the laptop by hard pressing the power key. But now at the start-up, the laptop is showing "No OS was found on Boot Drive, please install OS and try again".
When i used the windows 8 DVD for refreshing/resetting it, it says can not refresh because the drive is locked.
i tried running linux from a live image, but that linux also does not list my HDD when i use GParted to check.
I also tried doing a fresh installation from my Windows 8 DVD but when it asks for location to install Windows to, it does not show any drive!.
I am using Windows 8.1 Enterprise x64. I have normally used bluetooth on my HP Probook 4730s this days with my bluetooth headset. Now I have installed Office Remote Controller Add-In for Office 2013 Pro and since then I was not uble to turn on the bluetooth. I don't believe it's because of this Add-In for Office 2013, but I don't get it what could be wrong. I also can't make a system restore on any date.
When I go to PC Settings and go to Bluetooth, PC Settings just freeze or crash. I have updated bluetooth drivers and that doesn't solve the problem. Reinstalling my Windows is not an option in this moment, because I am working on a lot of projects and it will eat my time if I have to install Windows, Visual Studio, SQL Server and Office again.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have an original W 8.1 in a Lenovo x1 Carbon (64) and want to connect via Bluetooth to an updated 8 to 8.1 HP Envy (64). Both have Bluetooth. Although I can connect other devices (phone, speaker, etc.) I cannot connect the 2 PC's. I can get the name of the PC on the device screen and am asked to connect but then I get a notation showing a pass code and am asked to verify (yes - no) if this is the pass code shown on the other computers screen. I cannot find a pass code for the other computer and none is shown on the screen. Is there a way to connect the two computers?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a bluetooth module (Broadcom 2070) installed in my laptop.The hardware seems to be functioning fine (at least from Device Manager). However, when I go to Bluetooth Settings, all I see is this:
I'm not able to remove the Bluetooth Mouse there, and I'm also not able to detect any Bluetooth devices at all. I've even tried to use a Bluetooth dongle but to no avail. I've seen some suggested solutions to enable Bluetooth Support Services (which I have, and placed under Local Access), but this doesn't work for me as well.
I am trying to import my contacts to the phone, which I gather can be done with a bluetooth connection via some sort of PIM that the bluetooth software recognizes. For the life of me I can't find any explicit reference to any particular PIM software that the Windows 8 bluetooth Properties dialog recognizes. Or, have I misunderstood the capabilities here? Do I have to buy and install Outlook?
I am unfortunately using Thunderbird as email & contact manager, but I've exported my contacts via .csv in the past so If I can find the appropriately compatible PIM for Windows 8 Bluetooth I think I can muddle through.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI want to change OWN Bluetooth device name. I am using windows 8 which comes with my new laptop Dell Inspiron 15z. The company has set my default bluetooth name as "User". However I want it to be changed but how.
I have tried going to Device manager, Devices and printers etc.
I can't find the Bluetooth option in PC Settings (more probems with Windows 8.1, I'm still not quite legendary with it )
Below is a screenshot of my PC Settings/PC and Devices Other forums said bluetooth was there, but it's not.
Every time I try to pair my Bluetooth keyboard in Windows 8.1, I get the error "That didn't work", with the subtext "Try again, and make sure your keyboard is still discoverable."
Given the uselessness of the error message, I don't even know where to start troubleshooting.
I have just got a nearly new Toshiba laptop and updated to Windows 8.1. Since then I have been unable to connect any device to it via Bluetooth. It was able to see the devices and try to connect but as soon as it connected the connection was dropped and the devices reported failed to connect error. I reinstalled the Bluetooth driver with the latest driver from the Toshiba website and now the Laptop wont even see any devices.

Windows8.1 do not recognize any bluetooth., But Windows 8 will be easily identified. Install bluetooth driver in Windows 8.1, but I do not know why I can not be activated.

It is displayed as "removing device" on the screen as shown in the picture. Now I cannot add the device again. I don't find the device when I search by clicking on "add a device" as shown in the picture. When I try to add from my mobile device it fails to add by showing a message as shown in the next picture.

At the same time I'm confidentially able to use my wifi no problem in it but in settings>devices bluetooth doesn't exist...

I have used this mouse on two different computers and both do the same thing. I'm thinking it is the mouse since it's doing it on my desktop with a Bluetooth dongle and my Asus T100 with built in Bluetooth.
I was having the issue where windows 8 randomly disconnects bluetooth devices, so i tried to remove then reinstall it. When trying to remove, after a while, it comes up with a message saying "Unable to remove device".
So I go straight to device manager and uninstall my mouse from there. it works. I go back to the windows 8 show bluetooth devices menu and the mouse is still there. I hit remove and it works.
Now when i restart my computer its BACK in both device manager and bluetooth device menu. I just want it off and gone.

Its atheros driver . Previously it was working fine with window 7 32 bit. A friend of mine told me that window 8 does not require drivers to be installed provided by laptop vendor.
But again as i told above my blue tooth not working. Intel Management Engine Interface (MEI) is also not getting installed.
Is there an problem with system performance if all drivers are not getting installed due to error
I'm trying to connect my Samsung Galaxy S III to my new Asus LX302L via bluetooth.Both have bluetooth vers. 4 and I have successfully connected other units to my phone earlier but now it doesn't work.
I can "see" both units and they are linked together via password but that's it. After I linked them together, the status information on the computer says "Not connectet" for the phone. The same information is the phone saying about the computer.All drivers are up to date.
I want to use my phone as a remote using "Unified remote" and I also want to play music via the phone out to the computer speakers. This I have been able to do with my old computer (windows 7) but now it doesn't work.
I have the Globalsat BT-386i Bluetooth GPS reciver. I have it paired but it will never connect. When I go into PC settings it shows BT-GPS-3853CA Not Connected. I am using it with my Asus T100 on windows 8.1.
I'm not sure of the battery charge status. I have it plugged in a USB port and it does power on. Will it work being plugged in a USB port if the battery is low or will it only work off the battery?
while going through my device manager, a yellow triangle sign caught my attention. It is under the "Sound, video and game controllers' labeled as 'Bluetooth Audio Device". When opening the properties, it says that "This device annot start. (Code 10) Object Path Component was not a directory object.
I went to the MSI website (The laptop is a 4 days old MSI GS70-229) and could not find the corresponding driver for this so called "Bluetooth Audio Device". Windows update was unable to find anything, and the "Roll Back Driver" button was disabled. Driver provider is Qualcomm Atheros Communication.
Well, my first real problem with 8.1, my bluetooth mouse drops connection about every 15-20 minutes. Turn it off and back on it reconnects.

I have to work across three PCs, for which I use a KVM switch. But while I'm on PC 2 or 3 I like to make notes on PC 1, so I use a Bluetooth keyboard and a second monitor which is always on PC1. This has been working fine for weeks.

I can install and use any of two bluetooth mice (Dell PU705 Travel mouse or Samsung S Action mouse ET-MP900D) on my Lenovo Ideapad Z710 laptop. This works fine with either mouse for an average of 20 minutes (varies) then it loses contact with the laptop and its back to using the touchpad. When I go to the Bluetooth settings page -- "Manage Bluetooth Devices", the control suddenly reappears on entering the page with no further action from me. The recovery of the device like this happens on no other page, to my knowledge. I have a phone and a tablet paired with the laptop on bluetooth and they stay paired. I have installed the latest Lenovo bluetooth drivers with no improvement. It appears that the mice are still connected but not responding to the laptop until they get a small 'kick' when I return to the Bluetooth settings page. New, full strength batteries are installed.

I have tried installing the drivers but it doesn't recognise the device during the installation, and when I check device manager it shows as a HID compliant Mouse, i have tried everything i can find on google, tried installing the vista drivers in compatibility mode, and repeatedly uninstalled the device in DM, even tried to update the driver software and pointing to the correct drivers but as the drivers are old it keeps saying the drivers installed are the most up to date (even though they are wrong) it does not recognise it as a bluetooth adapter, and it works in my fiancee's laptop and my desktop which both run win7 ultimate.
