Audio :: Windows 8.1 - Sound Mix Conflicting With Headset
Jul 24, 2014I am trying to do some recordings of video games for my friends videos but I am having issues with recording desktop sounds (in other words the game itself) anything I do doesn't work. What I am wanting to do is have stereo mix as my default recording device and have my headset as the communication but my stereo mix is currently unavailable while my headset is default. If my stereo mix is default then it works and my headset is currently unavailable. I really don't understand what is going on. Everywhere I look to fix the problem has nothing for me. I am using Windows 8.1 and have an HP Envy Laptop. I have specs written in my profile.

Jun 23, 2013I was trying to remove my BT headset from BT devices and now its stuck on "removing device"... won't remove...won't even let me connect the headset now :/ even tried removing them from device manager, after a the device appears again :/

Aug 7, 2014I been having issues with my Ativ Tab 3 so I shipped it back to Samsung to fix it. Before I shipped it, It always played the sound that indicated that a bluetooth device was connected. After receiving it, I noticed it had fresh copy of Windows 8 pro on it with drivers, etc. So I updated it to 8.1 and reinstall everything and noticed the bluetooth devices no longer play the sounds when they connect.Tried refreshing, sfc /scannow, and redoing audio drivers.

Jan 22, 2014I had sizzling sound from my notebook speakers after i paired with my iphone 4 bluetooth. I am using that cuz of the hotspot thing. I cant use wifi hotspot cuz at my place i occasionally drop wifi connection from my cell phone cuz of the channel wifi uses. At the beginning i researched net very much and found out cuz of the phone channel is my problem.
Anyway in that hotspot after pair via bluetooth every video or mp3 or game sound starts like 10-15 second sound comes with sizzling, wheezy. After that maybe 1 hour or less it happens again. I am using last updates both win and bluetooth device.

Sep 15, 2014I have the laptop as stated above, i have had it a week and the user before me had decided to put on 7 instead of 8. i completely wiped and restored to windows 8.1, installed all sammy drivers and ensured it is all up to date.
the laptop had huge instability issues, the hdd was on its way out as mbr was damaged and the heads were ticking badly. then i found the ram was not secured in the sockets properly too. so i fixed it all!
Anyways back to the problem. i have the realtek hd audio drivers installed from sammy, reinstalled the ones from realtek themselves and still nothing.
Main issue, mic and speakers built in work and are fully detected. but the microphone port and headphone port are not detected, no matter what i plug into them.

Nov 18, 2013I am using Windows 8.1 Enterprise x64. I have normally used bluetooth on my HP Probook 4730s this days with my bluetooth headset. Now I have installed Office Remote Controller Add-In for Office 2013 Pro and since then I was not uble to turn on the bluetooth. I don't believe it's because of this Add-In for Office 2013, but I don't get it what could be wrong. I also can't make a system restore on any date.
When I go to PC Settings and go to Bluetooth, PC Settings just freeze or crash. I have updated bluetooth drivers and that doesn't solve the problem. Reinstalling my Windows is not an option in this moment, because I am working on a lot of projects and it will eat my time if I have to install Windows, Visual Studio, SQL Server and Office again.

Feb 10, 2014I have an original W 8.1 in a Lenovo x1 Carbon (64) and want to connect via Bluetooth to an updated 8 to 8.1 HP Envy (64). Both have Bluetooth. Although I can connect other devices (phone, speaker, etc.) I cannot connect the 2 PC's. I can get the name of the PC on the device screen and am asked to connect but then I get a notation showing a pass code and am asked to verify (yes - no) if this is the pass code shown on the other computers screen. I cannot find a pass code for the other computer and none is shown on the screen. Is there a way to connect the two computers?

I'm not able to remove the Bluetooth Mouse there, and I'm also not able to detect any Bluetooth devices at all. I've even tried to use a Bluetooth dongle but to no avail. I've seen some suggested solutions to enable Bluetooth Support Services (which I have, and placed under Local Access), but this doesn't work for me as well.

Sep 28, 2013I am trying to import my contacts to the phone, which I gather can be done with a bluetooth connection via some sort of PIM that the bluetooth software recognizes. For the life of me I can't find any explicit reference to any particular PIM software that the Windows 8 bluetooth Properties dialog recognizes. Or, have I misunderstood the capabilities here? Do I have to buy and install Outlook?
I am unfortunately using Thunderbird as email & contact manager, but I've exported my contacts via .csv in the past so If I can find the appropriately compatible PIM for Windows 8 Bluetooth I think I can muddle through.

Connecting the headsets to the computer with usb shows the devices names but no drivers install.

Dec 1, 2013I have just got a nearly new Toshiba laptop and updated to Windows 8.1. Since then I have been unable to connect any device to it via Bluetooth. It was able to see the devices and try to connect but as soon as it connected the connection was dropped and the devices reported failed to connect error. I reinstalled the Bluetooth driver with the latest driver from the Toshiba website and now the Laptop wont even see any devices.

Nov 30, 2012I was having the issue where windows 8 randomly disconnects bluetooth devices, so i tried to remove then reinstall it. When trying to remove, after a while, it comes up with a message saying "Unable to remove device".
So I go straight to device manager and uninstall my mouse from there. it works. I go back to the windows 8 show bluetooth devices menu and the mouse is still there. I hit remove and it works.
Now when i restart my computer its BACK in both device manager and bluetooth device menu. I just want it off and gone.

Its atheros driver . Previously it was working fine with window 7 32 bit. A friend of mine told me that window 8 does not require drivers to be installed provided by laptop vendor.
But again as i told above my blue tooth not working. Intel Management Engine Interface (MEI) is also not getting installed.
Is there an problem with system performance if all drivers are not getting installed due to error

Aug 26, 2014I'm trying to connect my Samsung Galaxy S III to my new Asus LX302L via bluetooth.Both have bluetooth vers. 4 and I have successfully connected other units to my phone earlier but now it doesn't work.
I can "see" both units and they are linked together via password but that's it. After I linked them together, the status information on the computer says "Not connectet" for the phone. The same information is the phone saying about the computer.All drivers are up to date.
I want to use my phone as a remote using "Unified remote" and I also want to play music via the phone out to the computer speakers. This I have been able to do with my old computer (windows 7) but now it doesn't work.

When opening the properties, it says that "This device annot start. (Code 10) Object Path Component was not a directory object.
I went to the MSI website (The laptop is a 4 days old MSI GS70-229) and could not find the corresponding driver for this so called "Bluetooth Audio Device". Windows update was unable to find anything, and the "Roll Back Driver" button was disabled. Driver provider is Qualcomm Atheros Communication.

Apr 25, 2014I have to work across three PCs, for which I use a KVM switch. But while I'm on PC 2 or 3 I like to make notes on PC 1, so I use a Bluetooth keyboard and a second monitor which is always on PC1. This has been working fine for weeks.
PC1 is Windows 8.1. Every few days I've had to reconnect the keyboard by going to Bluetooth, detecting it and pairing it again. Windows gave me a code to type into the keyboard and I was away, no problem.
Since Wednesday (23rd) I've been unable to do this. The PC detects the keyboard after a longer search than before. It pairs with the keyboard and says it's connected but the keyboard doesn't work. When I return to the Bluetooth screen, it's gone from the list of devices. I've replaced the keyboard batteries and tested it with my iPad, where it works perfectly well. So my sequence is:
