Hardware Drivers :: Asus N56VM Laptop Intel USB 3.0 Drivers?
Feb 14, 2014
I have a ASUS N56VM laptop, I have upgraded to Windows 8.1 Pro a few months ago (free DreamSpark account) and I can't get USB 3.0 to work at the speeds at which it needs to work. An 3GB ISO which I copy from my HDD to an USB3.0 USB-stick gets a max speed of 25 mb per second. I have already tried everything I could think of, including the following:
Upgrading Intel chipset drivers from ASUS support site (delete old, install new)Upgrading BIOSINF hack (Windows 8 and Intel USB 3.0 Host Controllers | Plugable) "Windows 8* has a native in-box USB 3.0 driver. Intel is not releasing a specific Intel USB 3.0 eXtensible Host Controller Driver for Windows 8."
The driver I have is: imgur: the simple image sharer
The only thing I can think of is maybe mailing ASUS if they can supply a new BIOS revision or mailing Intel if they can supply some new chipset drivers...
EDIT1: A few months back, when the laptop was still running Windows 7, the read/write speeds were "normal", meaning that they were what you would expect from USB 3.0.
So figured out my Windows 8 install was corrupt so I decided to do a fresh install of Windows 8 Pro 64-bit.
Formatted my drives and proceeded to install Windows 8 successfully. While installing all of my drivers every single one of them installed perfectly fine besides IntelRST.
It seems to time out every damn time. I tried to manually install it via device manager and it times out as well. I even reformatted and re installed Windows 8 still no go.
The crazy thing is when I try to manually install it via device manager it times out but the driver shows the correct date so I'm sort of at a loss right now.

I was reading that your Intel motherboard drivers should be updated. I watched the video and it seemed so easy. It said you can run it even if your mobo is not Intel with no harm done. The target to do so is below.
I am only an average pc user. Is updating the mobo drivers as important as was being stressed and is it a rather fool proof procedure.
My Q200E Asus laptop came with 4g of memory. I would like to add another 4g's to bring it up to 8g's. I can find no instructions for doing this and am not entirely sure if it can be done. I have removed the back cover and see no memory sticks at all.
I bought an Asus n53sv-eh72 laptop which comes with one USB 3.0 port. In Windows 7 it was working just fine, but after Windows 8 has been installed the USB doesnt work anymore. When I insert any flash drive windows has no reaction.
Ive been trying to find a driver but I couldnt find one that fits.
I know this port works cause Im able to boot windows throw a flash drive. It might be some driver missing.
I have an Asus laptop with Windows 8 64-Bit on it and I uninstalled AsusDVD after having some issues with it. After I did this my laptop no longer allowed me to play DVDs. Despite having Windows Media Player, which I know plays DVDs since I have it on my desktop.
Is there a way that I can change some settings to use Windows Media Player? When I open "Autoplay" Windows Media Player is not an option to play it on and there isn't anything else on my laptop that can play it. I tried a few different free DVD players, but none were able to play them for some reason.
How I can get Windows Media Player to play DVDs or suggest a free software that I can download that will play DVDs?
I just installed a fresh copy of windows 8.1 on my Asus N53S laptop that comes stock with Windows 7 and now my keyboard shortcuts for volume do not work. Above the F1-F4 keys i have three buttons to mute, increase and decrease the volume which do not work. The keyboard shortcut's for muting, decreasing and increasing volume do not work either (Fn+F10-F12) but the shortcut for decreasing brightness and turning the screen off works (Fn+F5-F7) If there is any way to get this working again.
I have recently bought a ASUS X550LC Laptop in that. i was trying to install bluetooth drivers but it crashes frequently during the installation. i have tried a lot and i cant able 2 solve the problem.
I have an Asus P8Z77-V Deluxe. It replaces a motherboard that failed. I have moved the Win 7 image over to the new board using a "restore to other hardware" feature in a backup program. It did not work properly. I am not able to get some drivers to install. For various (and sufficient) reasons I really really don't want to do a clean install. When I first booted, it would not even boot until I used Win PE to repair the boot. Various squirrely things are still wrong. Like not being able to see more than one hard drive. Occasional crashes for no obvious reason.
For an SATA controller when I run update driver or running the Intel INF setup program provided by Asus I get a message:
7 series/C216 SATA AHCI controller 1E02 Also This operation requires an interactive windows station.
I have just run the Intel update program and it says it can't identify a device an I need to contact the board manufacturer.
An alternative I am considering is to install a Win 8 update over the Win 7 telling Win 8 to retain my programs, settings, and data. But I am not sure this will get me where I want to go. My major question about that is will the Win 8 installation be clever enough to use all of the driver files from Asus that I have downloaded (and I point it to) rather than installing something like the incorrect ones currently installed?
Official driver (Microsoft WDDM 1.1) doesn't support OpenGL on Windows 8.1 x64 for Intel G41 Express Chipset. Because of this I cannot run VirtualBox, BlueStacks and some other apps.
I just wanted to know if it was possible to use Intel Mobile 4 Series Express Chipset drivers with Windows 8. I've read that you could use the drivers for Windows 7 in Windows 8, but I haven't really proven that to be true.
I keep getting this error:
but I really don't get why I'm getting that message - it's giving me this message like I'm trying to run the software on a computer from the '90s. It really doesn't make sense to me since just about all other software can run on newer operating systems.
All I want to know is if it's possible to install these drivers on my computer, and if not, if there's a patch or a substitute.
The problem happened after I right click on desktop > Graphic option > first thing that i cant remember what is it .. Then the screen suddenly blank ! (The system is still running).. and i startup with safe mode..it has no problem..
I disabled intel hd grahics 3000 device on safe mode.. and it work's , my screen is not blank anymore.. but without the intel hd grahics i facing many problem like, cant adjust screen's brightness..
What i should do? maybe reset the setting of intel hd grahics ? But how..if i enable the intel hd grahics device..it becomes blank again..
HP Pavilion g series Microsoft Window 8.1 pro processor : intel(R) core(TM) i5-2410m cpu system type:64-bit operating system, x64-based processor
-Windows 8.1 Professional x64 -I have (2) HDD's under RAID 1 {mirrored}
After fresh install I now have the (2) HDD's shown and was was notified to install chipset driver, so I did and ended up installing the Intel Rapid Storage Technology.
Now my (2) HDD's are mirrored {combined to one drive} but the problem is I get an error about recycle bin being corrupt, delete- yes or no?.... and nothing works trying both options and the message keeps coming up.
Can I run windows 8 in my INtel D101GGC mother board with intel pentium 4 processor with ati radeon Xpress 200 series video card? Where can I get drivers for my pc?
I have been trying to find our when intel will release drivers for the Mobile Intel(R) 4 Series Express Chipset Family on windows 8. I can not play many games without them.
Im sure I downloaded the correct version for Windows 8.1 (64-bit) and for my Proccessor and Graphics but an error before installation stops me from updating the drivers. I have a picture below to show the error and more. I have checked ASUS if they have the newer driver but they dont, what I have installed currently is what they have to download on their site. I tried running as Administrator and using a mirror but to no avail.
After the most recent update from Windows Store for Windows 8.1 Pro, my Intel Wireless drivers got busted. I could only connect to the Internet via the Ethernet cable and no matter how hard I try re-installing/uninstalling the drivers for the wireless drivers, I still get the same outcome.
In Device Manger, I checked the listing for Intel PRO/Wireless 3945ABG Network Connection. In the Properties menu, I get this message:
This device cannot find enough free resources that it can use. (Code 12)
If you want to use this device, you will need to disable one of the other devices on this system.
I went to install software from Intel's website for diagnosing the wireless driver/connection status, so I ran Intel PROSet/WIreless Tools, and after clicking Diagnose > Run Tests for Hardware Test, I get this message:
Wireless Hardware is not bound to transport driver. My wi-fi switch on the left side of my laptop is already turned on. I switched it off, uninstalled and deleted the driver and restarted the laptop to see if I could reinstall. Upon turning back the switch on after logging into my Windows account, I still get the same outcome: code 12.
Recently I Recieved A Laptop in gift which I owned in the past which is A Dell XPS 15-L521X. It was running all good but suddenly Today morning when I pressed the power button and it boot through the Dell splash screen and after that It booted normal through the Windows 8 boot screen but after that It stucked at a Black Screen.
I passed on 20-min but it stucked there. No Cursor, nothing except The Black Screen. I ran Dell Pre-Boot System Assesment to check any Hardware failware but no everything is just fine. I remember That My Dell Driver Update Utility Notified me that it installed latest Intel Rapid Start Technology Driver on my last boot but I dont know whether its causing the error but The Intel Rapid Start Technology is very essential for SSD users so why will it cause errors?
I just reinstalled my PC, obviously with windows 8. And I can't seem to play games, i mostly play COD4 and whenever I join a game, I get an Dirextx error, or my PC just reboots..
I don't know if it has something to do with my LPC INTERFACE controller.
LPC One:
on Intel(R) ICH8/ICH8R Family LPC Interface Controller - 2810
The drivers for this device are not installed. (Code 28)
To find a driver for this device, click Update Driver.
Games one:
directx unrecoverable error
And I used to get 'AMD Driver timed out, and succesfully rebooted" something like that.
This is my setup:
OS: Windows 8 MOBO: FOXXCONN p9657aa-8ks2h CPU: Intel Core2Quad Q6600 RAM: 2GB ddr2 GPU: Club3D Radeon HD 6970 Coolstream Edition HDD: dont know really, 300gb
My computer is hp envy dv6 7280sf notebook with 2 GPUs intel graphics HD 4000 and Nvidia Gefoce 630 M running windows 8 64x.
After making an free upgrade online for windows 8.1 which run successfully, both gpus were ok...
But after receiving a windows update with new drivers for intel graphics 4000 gpu , after install and restart , the computer freezes on blank black screen at windows startup with no mouse or anything only backlight.
So safemode was succeful but i figured that the update for windos update was the cause and graphics drivers were installed so i removed the drivers for intel graphics and itried to reboot the computer so the restart was succeful but the intel graphics card was unistalled and no drivers were automatically installed so i tried to download and install the drivers from hp and intel website for windows 8.1 however the install fails.
Automatic install from device manager failed both online and from computer and even from manual driver selection.
So therefore the install failed in safe mode , and the high def audio device ( on screen audio possibly) failed and the device was not recongnized (no drivers installed) so i'm stuck without anydrivers for the integrated gpu and the games are no longer able to run normally even if the nvidia card is on.
I tried downloading an installing Windows 8 drives but it failed to install also , for instance any new install of drovers seems to fail for me even for external usb hard drive.
My roommate has a custom desktop PC, which runs Windows 8 x64.
It can't connect to the internet, or the local network. Windows says limited connection, but ping the router IP yields only lost packages. Solving the error with the automatic error solver, displays problems with the DNS.
The roommate says the connection has worked for a limited time, for about a 1/2 hour, but fell out from time to time.
He has tried to connect to our wireless router, a wireless n d-link dir615. It is set to WPA/WPA2 with AES cipher and PSK.The router runs the newest firmware available, which gives no issues for any other device in the house. (Including Iphones, android phones, old and new N-capable, and N-incapable laptops and desktops).
His PC has an almost unused Asus PCE N15 wireless adapter installed. He says it worked on a different network (He just moved in).
I have tried to give him a static IP and dns, both in windows, and get the router to assign one to him.
I have tried to give him an alternative DNS, e.g. OpenDNS.
I have tried to update his drivers, both the ones provided from Asus, but also one from realtek, since the NIC has a realtek chip on it.
I have an Asus P5QL VM DO montherboard in my homemade PC. This is an older system that I use for testing, so I put my Windows 8 install on it. Unfortunately, the Asus driver installation CD will not run in Win 8, and I am missing one driver which I am unable to locate anywhere. It is for the PCI Simpe Communications Controller.
I have recently built a new computer and installed Windows 8. All was running fine (including USB devices such as iPhone, flash drive etc), however since upgrading to Windows 8.1, none of my USB devices are showing up at all. Oddly, the mouse and keyboard still work.
When I go into the BIOS, all my devices (iPhone, Flash drive, keyboard and mouse etc) all show up in there, so I'm guessing it's a driver/Windows 8.1 issue that I'm missing?
I have been to the ASUS website and downloaded all the drivers I can find, but still no luck.
My motherboard is an "Asus Z97 Pro". I have tried contacting Asus support, but they are completely useless!
I have an ASUS S400CA running Windows 8.1 (64 bit) and I am having a major issue. When I click Fn + F5/F6 to increase or decrease the brightness, nothing is happening. The slider is stuck beyond a point and the brightness does not change regardless (it is stuck at the highest setting). I have tried to fix this issue by changing brightness settings in the Control Panel, Battery Options, etc. but nothing is working.
I have tried to find previous versions of the Intel HD Graphics 4000 Driver on the Asus website but only find the one I am using. What should I do?
I have a CM6730 Asus PC with a P8H61-M PRO/CM6630 motherboard.
I was having problems getting good Graphics performance and the topic of Integrated vs discrete GPU came up, the options in the BIOS were set to use iGPU, since then I do not get the option on boot to enter the BIOS.
I have tried ASUS but they want me to send the unit in for repair.
