Jul 31, 2014Ever since last night any game I try to open, whether it be an online one on steam or battlenet or an offline one experiences major lag during menu, loading and in game if im lucky to enter. Diablo III took 6 tries before i managed to enter the game where the lagging persisted. Rust and Killing floor major lags i couldnt even enter a game and servers wouldnt open. Fallout 3 on my computer would crash every time. Age of Empires II couldnt open past the windowed menu selection, Saints Row the Third stuck on loading screen. Oblivion wouldnt open due to first time set up DivX failing. Mirrors edge would experience Application load error p: 0000065432.
Im including a DxDiag, SFC Scan result which shows corrupt files unable to be fixed.
My graphics card is Nvdia GeForce 720M
Internal graphics card is Intel HD Graphics 4000

Aug 4, 2014i cant seem to run any app related to gaming whatsoever. Per example steam app, league of legends, any other game i have, battle net desktop app. In the steam and battle net desktop apps i click the launcher and it opens the small window (Updtaing steam or updating battle net) and when its done nothing happens. As for games i click the launcher and nothing happens. I've tried launching admin, on a different account, re installing everything nothing works.

Sep 15, 2014I have an ASUS 290X card, and an MSI Z97-Gaming 5 motherboard, and around 8 min into the bf4 game i get a red screen and then i have to press the restart button.
I have a 650 Watt Power Supply, could it be that? I have the Beta Drivers for AMD 14.7 RC3, i used to have 14.4 but same thing occured.

Gaming :: Unknown Process Because Spikes In Game
May 9, 2013I've just upgraded my OS from Windows 7 to Windows 8. Everything runs smooth, after I have updated most drivers. My fps in games even increases a little (about 10) in general.
I don't hate metro so I haven't done much tweak to the system.
However when I play counter strike : GO, I have ping spikes going to 500 about every 10 minutes. Sometimes fps drops suddenly too. I believe it's some process causing the problem. But it lasts only like 3 seconds. When I tab out and open task manage to check the process I can't hunt it down. I didn't have the problem when I had windows 7.

Jun 23, 2013Ok so for the past few days windows 8 game app acts like its logged in but i don't get my friends list or my avitar and when i click on friends it says can't connect to xbox?, why is it looking for a xbox i havent had one those in a number of years. it use to work just fine i could chat with my friends and so forth see my gamer score and so on and now it just says can't connect to xbox? I can sign in threw the fable 3 game but it uses games for windows live and not the xbox game app on windows 8.

I used to have 180-250 fps on "cs go" now i only have 80-150 fps.
I ve searched all tweaks on Google for 8.1 pro and applied a lot of them but still no effects.

A facebook link has been added and now I can't find the option to start a new game. Where it went? Every game I open has a separate red and blue 3D appearance. I will attach a pic. The warning in corner is new, tried turning shadows off, no luck also tried a different monitor and different resolutions = same results.

Aug 26, 2014Recently my computer ran into a problem, couple of days ago, I could play or view websites just fine, just that day when I came back from outside I launched my game (The secret world) and the launcher got stuck at Downloading patch information.. (which was actually trying to connect to the server for patching) It was just stuck at there, so, I tried opening the game's website for support, but surprise, I can't either..
this is the error Google Chrome shows me ERR_CONNECTION_TIMED_OUT. So I can't play nor see the website BUT, when I use a proxy in chrome, I can see the website just fine, and no, im not banned from the game..
This is what I've tried so far..
Flushing DNS
Cleaning dns cache
Resetting router / modem settings to factory
Rebooting several times
And I even restored my whole PC to fabric state (Yup, I formatted and all)

Sep 2, 2012I can't install the (Microsoft) Minesweeper-App from the store. My initial try to install the app was interrupted, and since then, every install hangs for quite some time ("Pending"), then ends with "This app is no longer available." or "This app wasn't installed."
I already tried deleting all caches and pieces from the failed first install attempt I could find, but that didn't work.

This is the PC version of FIFA 14. But one thing I can't understand that is the size of the game specified on the App Store of this game is only 1000MB? How can this happen? Big-big game take more space that this, Whereas the same game FIFA 14 takes around 8.8GB to install on Xbox One. So how can this Happen?

I cannot log into the Windows Store. I cannot even get to the point where I can log in.
When I click on the Store tile nothing happens.
I had some difficulty earlier and it was suggested that I change my login from a local account to a Windows account. I've done that, but it did not solve the problem of accessing the store. I have about 200 applications on this machine, many of which were migrated during the upgrade. There is no way I'm rebuilding this computer.

Oct 7, 2013It appears that with Windows 8.1 RTM Microsoft wants you to concatenate all your account credentials under Windows into a Microsoft account, and that there's no way to access any of the Store or Microsoft Modern account driven software without doing so...
Is it possible to access the Store, and other Windows 8.1 account authorized features in the same manner as Windows 8 where you could have a local account and just login to these other services separately?

May 22, 2013I'm a new user to Windows 8 and am having some problems. First, everytime I try to open the store it tells me I'm not connected to the internet, but I am. I've tried running the troubleshooter, but it does nothing. Additionally, I tried logging into Mail, but all I see is a three-tone white screen that has zero information on it. And yes I had an Outlook account before Windows 8. Last, I receive warnings about certificates with many websites I visit, including a few run by Microsoft. If I'm not mistaken, all of this is caused by McAfee controlling my firewall, and I seem unable to disable it and regain control of my new computer.

Jul 12, 2014The Windows App Store will not open. It spends a while thinking about it, then eventually times out. I would like to update to 8.1, but I think this is evidence of a bigger issue.
I think the real problem in my proxy settings in IE. The LAN settings have the Use Proxy Server permanently checked. No matter what I try, it wont uncheck. I have tried selecting the automatically detect settings box and putting in a dummy config. I ran Malware sweeps, ran virus sweeps, I removed any IE Add-ons. Reset IE. But it still wont let me uncheck that box..
It looks like there is a manual override within the Registry.
