Gaming :: Extreme Lag And Low FPS During Any And Every Game
Jul 31, 2014
Ever since last night any game I try to open, whether it be an online one on steam or battlenet or an offline one experiences major lag during menu, loading and in game if im lucky to enter. Diablo III took 6 tries before i managed to enter the game where the lagging persisted. Rust and Killing floor major lags i couldnt even enter a game and servers wouldnt open. Fallout 3 on my computer would crash every time. Age of Empires II couldnt open past the windowed menu selection, Saints Row the Third stuck on loading screen. Oblivion wouldnt open due to first time set up DivX failing. Mirrors edge would experience Application load error p: 0000065432.
Im including a DxDiag, SFC Scan result which shows corrupt files unable to be fixed.
My graphics card is Nvdia GeForce 720M
Internal graphics card is Intel HD Graphics 4000
i cant seem to run any app related to gaming whatsoever. Per example steam app, league of legends, any other game i have, battle net desktop app. In the steam and battle net desktop apps i click the launcher and it opens the small window (Updtaing steam or updating battle net) and when its done nothing happens. As for games i click the launcher and nothing happens. I've tried launching admin, on a different account, re installing everything nothing works.
Two days a go I have downloaded red alert 3 as an ISO file on my new laptop. It is an HP core i7.
When I am trying to install the game using the AutoRun/EASetup I receive a message "Please insert CD/DVD in drive C:"
I have try to run it as administrator, troubleshot it and try it in compatible mode, run it in USB,CD,try to install it in save mode, open it with winrar,re-downloading direct X but ... no dice.
I have an ASUS 290X card, and an MSI Z97-Gaming 5 motherboard, and around 8 min into the bf4 game i get a red screen and then i have to press the restart button.
I have a 650 Watt Power Supply, could it be that? I have the Beta Drivers for AMD 14.7 RC3, i used to have 14.4 but same thing occured.
I have been trying to run a modification for game Minecraft.. It's called Single Player commands mod 1.5.1. Whenever I try to run .exe file, it gives me an error.. "Not a valid Win32" application.. I have tried running the .jar file but it says java not installed. i really need to install SPC 1.5
So the problem is as i said when i play a game like GTA iv first things are workinglike a charm and then after 30 min the textures will load really slowly and that happened like before a week ago
I've just upgraded my OS from Windows 7 to Windows 8. Everything runs smooth, after I have updated most drivers. My fps in games even increases a little (about 10) in general.
I don't hate metro so I haven't done much tweak to the system.
However when I play counter strike : GO, I have ping spikes going to 500 about every 10 minutes. Sometimes fps drops suddenly too. I believe it's some process causing the problem. But it lasts only like 3 seconds. When I tab out and open task manage to check the process I can't hunt it down. I didn't have the problem when I had windows 7.
How do I access a game after downloading from the Store. The Store site states I've downloaded a game although the games folder on my computer is empty.
Ok so for the past few days windows 8 game app acts like its logged in but i don't get my friends list or my avitar and when i click on friends it says can't connect to xbox?, why is it looking for a xbox i havent had one those in a number of years. it use to work just fine i could chat with my friends and so forth see my gamer score and so on and now it just says can't connect to xbox? I can sign in threw the fable 3 game but it uses games for windows live and not the xbox game app on windows 8.
Is there anyway I can make it so that I can still switch between apps while playing a fullscreen Desktop game? (ones that aren't from the Windows 8 store)
I have this game, it's called BossRan. It's just a private server. So, opened the icon and it just hangs in there and slowly lags my computer until if freezes.
The game's here: BossRan,RAN,philippines,RANONLINE,RAN private server,EPX
Used to be able to right-click a solitaire game screen and find the option in the lower right corner to start a new game. A facebook link has been added and now I can't find the option to start a new game. Where it went? You can enter a specific game number in the settings screen, but I just want the option back to start a new one without having to go all the way to the point of no more moves.
So when I play BF4, the game started crashing after the latest BF4 patch. I noticed that if I run it at 4.5 or higher BF4 crashes. That is the only program with an issue. My temps are fine, and can run 4.7 stable except for BF4. So now I am playing some BF4 lately, so have gone to 4.2.
I have dell vostro 1500 on which windows 8 installed. Whatever game i install from windows store, doesn't open up. It crashes. Here's the dump of crash report
Every game I open has a separate red and blue 3D appearance. I will attach a pic. The warning in corner is new, tried turning shadows off, no luck also tried a different monitor and different resolutions = same results.
I've been having some problems with my Windows 8.1 PC, w/ AMD FX-1400 Quad-Core Processor, 8.00 GB of RAM, and a 64 bit OS. I've had it for about 10 months now, and it worked fine up until back a few months ago. Basically, I boot the PC up, and everything is fine- no signs of lag, nothing. After I log in, it's all smooth going for approx. 30 seconds, and then suddenly 8.00 GB seems to turn into 0.50 MB (exaggeration.) the cursor moves across the screen just fine, but the speed of anything else on the screen that moves could be easily compared to that of a snail. When I say lag, I mean slow and twitchy, rather than just slow moving. Anyways, I've tried a multitude of things- virus checks (zero viruses), disabling search indexing, deleting unused files, and some other things I forgot.
I cannot seem to access the bios at all with windows 8.1 and my gtx 780 ti. When I connect the hdmi to my gtx 670, I can see the bios screen and can change the config but with the hdmi in my 780 ti I get a black screen until the dual boot windows selection. I've disable fast boot and what else to do.
After spending a lot of time isolating the specific update that was giving me the extremely slow reboot time, (from 5 seconds to 150 seconds after update) I was able to determine that Windows optional update -Qualcomm Atheroos Communication - Bluetooth Controller - Qualcomm Atheros AR3012 Bluetooth 4.0 + HS was the cause of the lag.
Any solution to the lag. from 5 seconds to nearly 3 minutes is a substantial lag in restarting the computer.
I have just installed aida64 extreme edition on Windows 8.1 and when I click on the update frequency page for the OSD icons this is not working it should be displayed in seconds. I've removed and reinstalled but its still the same.
I am having some problems with 3 years old PC. Only while playing games (Civ 5 - Heroes & Generals - Rise of nations) I suffer from freeze/crashes, PC doesn't show a BSOD, the mouse pointer works normally it doesn't freeze (until I try to alt+tab or alt+ctrl+del), and from my speakers I can hear looping sounds.
The only thing I can do is a hard reboot. I try reinstalling windows, and the problem still exists. My BIOS, drivers* and OS are update, I perform a memtest for 6 hours and show no errors, I can run prime95 + kombustor and everything is fine, no temps problems, GPU never go over 68c and CPU at 58c, and no crashes.
DSIM commands show no errors neither.
*I tried latest NVIDIA drivers, and old ones, im actually using 334.89 version, and the problem persist.
It's been happening for awhile now since windows 7 through to windows 8 and i'm not sure why but it usually happens when i play games even with lowest settings, whenever it freezes it makes me have to force shut down manually.

I have a question regarding PC gaming, since I realy dont know as much as I would like to.
My question is what role does my CPU play in gaming? Is it a big thing? I always thought that having a strong, powerful graphics card was more important that a powerful CPU.
Is there a particular thing that the CPU does in PC gaming that makes having a strong one essential?
Okay, this is the second time with a different game this is happening, at very specific points in the game, My Laptop's screen blacks out and goes off, the computer stays on with lights and stuff but the screen just stays off like when you put off a pc but the fans keep running, I then have to forcefully power my pc off to put off the entire system.
I don't think this has anything to do with my Laptop's temperature as I've just had the vents and heat sinks ventilated recently, also cause the laptop goes off at just one scene in a particular mission in both games, Assassins Creed and Far Cry 3.
I don't think its my PC's specs either cause I went through the requirements of these games before getting them. I've not been able to go past the stages in the game where my PC goes off.
My Laptop's specs: HP Envy M6-1105DX : AMD A10-4600M 2.3GHz, 6GB RAM, Windows 8, 64-bit.
So the other day I turned on my computer and started up SWTOR. As the game was loading I got a BSOD, it disappeared too quick for my to see what it was so I started it up and it wanted to check my discs before windows started up so I let it. When windows popped up started up Chrome to see if I could get more info and it was saying it was corrupted. Eventually it crashed on me again so I got out my phone and snapped a shot (imgur: the simple image sharer). Looked up the code and it suggested hard drive failure or corrupted system files.
So I decided to clean install Windows 7 (which I was using at the time) and see if the problem persist. I eventually got the same BSOD during while installing some programs. Then I downloaded the seagate utilities to check my hard drive to see if it it had a problem. First test caused a crash, second test passed, and third and fourth test also caused a crash. Figuring my hard drive was shot picked up a new one today and installed Windows 8.1 to try it out. Everything was going fine during minimal use so I decide to try something a little more and installed SWTOR again. The computer shut off this time with no BSOD while it was nearing the end of the install. Booted it back up, finished the install, and then started it up. Each time while it was loading it would shut off.
What ever the problem was I think is still persisting but is no longer giving a BSOD I think due to the OS change. Im not sure where to go from here to find a solution.
Original BSOD Code: 0x00000f4 (0x0000000000000003 0xfffffa800a1deb30 0xfffffa800a1dee10 0xfffff800035d5d80)
I recently purchased a 2nd hand PC back in June and unfortunately have experienced about a dozen BSODs when playing games. They seem to occur randomly. There has been times where I have been able to play games for hours without BSOD at all.
I thought it was an issue with my graphics card drivers so I updated them to the latest version (I believe AMD 14.2) but the Blue screens continued to happen. I restored the drivers back to default and that is what I am currently using.
