So when I play BF4, the game started crashing after the latest BF4 patch. I noticed that if I run it at 4.5 or higher BF4 crashes. That is the only program with an issue. My temps are fine, and can run 4.7 stable except for BF4. So now I am playing some BF4 lately, so have gone to 4.2.

A facebook link has been added and now I can't find the option to start a new game. Where it went? You can enter a specific game number in the settings screen, but I just want the option back to start a new one without having to go all the way to the point of no more moves.
View 1 Replies View RelatedEver since last night any game I try to open, whether it be an online one on steam or battlenet or an offline one experiences major lag during menu, loading and in game if im lucky to enter. Diablo III took 6 tries before i managed to enter the game where the lagging persisted. Rust and Killing floor major lags i couldnt even enter a game and servers wouldnt open. Fallout 3 on my computer would crash every time. Age of Empires II couldnt open past the windowed menu selection, Saints Row the Third stuck on loading screen. Oblivion wouldnt open due to first time set up DivX failing. Mirrors edge would experience Application load error p: 0000065432.
Im including a DxDiag, SFC Scan result which shows corrupt files unable to be fixed.

i cant seem to run any app related to gaming whatsoever. Per example steam app, league of legends, any other game i have, battle net desktop app. In the steam and battle net desktop apps i click the launcher and it opens the small window (Updtaing steam or updating battle net) and when its done nothing happens. As for games i click the launcher and nothing happens. I've tried launching admin, on a different account, re installing everything nothing works.

However, I can't locate it in C:ProgramDataMicrosoftWindowsStart MenuPrograms.
What's the filepath to the Games explorer? (it can be accessed via Run and typing shell:games).
I've just upgraded my OS from Windows 7 to Windows 8. Everything runs smooth, after I have updated most drivers. My fps in games even increases a little (about 10) in general.
I don't hate metro so I haven't done much tweak to the system.
However when I play counter strike : GO, I have ping spikes going to 500 about every 10 minutes. Sometimes fps drops suddenly too. I believe it's some process causing the problem. But it lasts only like 3 seconds. When I tab out and open task manage to check the process I can't hunt it down. I didn't have the problem when I had windows 7.
How do I access a game after downloading from the Store. The Store site states I've downloaded a game although the games folder on my computer is empty.
View 5 Replies View RelatedOk so for the past few days windows 8 game app acts like its logged in but i don't get my friends list or my avitar and when i click on friends it says can't connect to xbox?, why is it looking for a xbox i havent had one those in a number of years. it use to work just fine i could chat with my friends and so forth see my gamer score and so on and now it just says can't connect to xbox? I can sign in threw the fable 3 game but it uses games for windows live and not the xbox game app on windows 8.

I used to have 180-250 fps on "cs go" now i only have 80-150 fps.
I ve searched all tweaks on Google for 8.1 pro and applied a lot of them but still no effects.
ps: all drivers are up to date.
I just updated maybe half an hour ago and now I can't use the start as its frozen as a white window icon. Doing a system restore solves it - but then I'm rolled back and continually prompted that it'll update on my next restart.
Moving the menu to the left, right AND top of the screen makes it work, but the bottom default is frozen.

Windows 8.1 and my setup.
Every game I open has a separate red and blue 3D appearance. I will attach a pic. The warning in corner is new, tried turning shadows off, no luck also tried a different monitor and different resolutions = same results.

When I start A3, it boots up just fine, then when I try to start a campaign/showcase mission or Multiplayer server, the screen starts getting horizontal lines jumping on the screen/blurred blocks sometimes as well, and then my computer either freezes up or automatically restarts, sometimes I can close ARMA n goto desktop but that gets whacked out as well doing the same thing basically on my homescreen. It then proceeds to do the same thing to me when I'm just on the desktop trying to open Google Chrome or any other task for that matter, still getting the "Display Driver Has Stopped Responding and Has Recovered" in the bottom right corner of Windows.
I've literally tried everything regarding troubleshooting this matter and to no success: Updating Drivers/Windows, Tweaking Catalyst CC settings, Disabling Hibernation, Even Refreshing the PC (Windows 8.1), Booting in Safe Mode (MSConfig), scanned for Viruses, complete Reinstall of ARMA 3, ... This has been driving me crazy the last few days and cannot figure out for the life of me why it is doing this now?? ARMA 3 was running great the first 4 or 5 months I've had it and has never had issues like this, it seems it all started after trying to join a server Online and then it crashed and froze and has been doing this Display Driver Error stuff ever since (I did recently download new Mods as well).. Do complete PC Reset is necessary? I mean after the PC Refresh, my desktop and everything else was running amazingly fast and smooth, everything was up to date, I re-installed ARMA 3 and tried again to play this morning, sadly the same errors occurred and Lines are jumping all over my screen and everything is lagging. After I play a game, no matter what game it is when I quit it my start screen looks like this.
As you can see I'm in quite a pickle, I want to start editing my start screen but I can't and it has nothing to do with the Start Screen wallpaper change because it was doing this before I even used the start screen customizer.
I recently installed Windows 8 64 bit from Windows 7 32 bit. I never had any problems really with the windows 7 32 bit but since upgrading to Windows 8 64 bit I am having this odd problem. I am a gamer, I have Steam with lots of games and so I play one then play another and another then I go to start a game (It isn't the same game) and the computer resets and does its thing. I have made sure all my drivers are up to date as I have heard that that can be the problem.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI am trying to remove an icon from my windows 8 start menu. I have uninstalled the program (Diablo 3), but the icon remains under the games category. If I right click I get the option to uninstall, which brings me to the program uninstaller under control panel; Diablo 3 is not listed here. Right click also allows me to "open file location" which gives me the games screen as seen below. Right clicking on Diablo 3 here does nothing. I have no option to delete the entry.

View 4 Replies View RelatedAfter last weeks updates my UAC keeps resetting after a few hours, i set it to Never Notify and after a while it goes back to normal.
I'm running Windows 8 Enterprise.
It was running normally before the update.
No 3rd party programs were installed, the OS remained unchanged, just the updates.
I installed the 8.1 patch today and shortly after the mouse disappeared from my screen completely (I have a laptop with a touch pad). I tried going into task manager as just going in and cancelling used to solve this problem before installing the patch but this no longer works. I also tried rebooting (switching off then on again) but this didn't work and the computer didn't even reboot; just reopened my session exactly where I left off even when I waited ten minutes before switching the on switch again. I have temporarily solved this problem with a usb mouse borrowed from a family member but my family member needs it back (and I also would prefer to use the touchpad).
I should add here that I didn't want to do the installation when it started happening and while I meant to press the "default settings" option, I think I went with "customise settings" by accident. I just said ok to everything as I had a deadline and needed computer access. Could I have pressed "turn touch pad off" and if so how do I change this?
My notebook has a Win 8 OEM key in UEFI. After wiping my hard disc I want to install Win 8 retail instead of OEM version.
Because this is not possible with stored OEM Win 8 key I want to boot with a Win 7 BootCD and patch the UEFI with a Win 8 retail serial key.
For that I need a Program like SLIC which accomplish this task.

Everytime i use any theme patcher on win 8 x64 it works fine until i do windows updates then it restarts ant the screen just blinks and its completely black after boot screen.

I am having some problems with 3 years old PC. Only while playing games (Civ 5 - Heroes & Generals - Rise of nations) I suffer from freeze/crashes, PC doesn't show a BSOD, the mouse pointer works normally it doesn't freeze (until I try to alt+tab or alt+ctrl+del), and from my speakers I can hear looping sounds.
The only thing I can do is a hard reboot. I try reinstalling windows, and the problem still exists.My BIOS, drivers* and OS are update, I perform a memtest for 6 hours and show no errors, I can run prime95 + kombustor and everything is fine, no temps problems, GPU never go over 68c and CPU at 58c, and no crashes.
DSIM commands show no errors neither.
*I tried latest NVIDIA drivers, and old ones, im actually using 334.89 version, and the problem persist.
