unable to find Bluetooth driver in windows 8
DELL inspiron N5010
I have 2.5 years old Dell Inspiron 15r n5010 with Intel Core i3 processor (M370 @2.4 GHz) and 3gb RAM. Right now I have Windows 7 (64 bit) installed on my machine. I have two questions:
1. Can I install Windows 8.1 (64bit) on my machine?
2. There is no driver available for Windows 8 for this series of laptop on Dell's site. In that case, can I use Video, Wireless LAN, Bluetooth drivers of Windows 7 (64 bit) for Windows 8.1 (64 bit)?
P.S.: Dell provide drivers for Windows 8 for Inspiron 15r n5110 series of laptop. Can I use n5110 series of drivers on my n5010 series of laptop?
I wanted to restore my laptop back to factory settings before passing on to a friend, but when running the DataSafe restore software something went wrong and the laptop will no longer boot...doesn't seem to recognise that the hard disk is there.
BIOS settings recognise the disk and going into Boot Options (F12) I can get to diagnostics which gets as far as the memory tests then the processor overheats and the laptop shuts down (which was why I got a new laptop in the first place!)
Fortunately (I thought) I have the Recovery DVD that I created when first used the laptop, that boots fine and but when try to restore to factory settings it produces the error 0x400110020000100a as soon as the formatting screen comes up.
The laptop is an Inspiron N5010 if that makes any difference.
Since past few days WiFi is not working on my Inspiron N4010 laptop. I am able to connect to internet through LAN cable but with wifi it keeps showing the yellow symbol in the network icon in system tray.
And For Bluetooth , the icon is not getting displayed in the system tray. Even If I am trying to start it with BTTray.exe it still doesnt work. And Bluetooth adapter is off, how to make the adapter on.
I tried installing the latest drivers of network .....
I have never used 'Bluetooth' before. I want to transfer a file between my laptop and Android tablet. I turned Bluetooth 'on' (which I have installed the latest driver) on my Windows 8.1 laptop. I turned Bluetooth 'on' on my Android 4.1.1 tablet. I had my laptop search for 'Bluetooth' devices, but my tablet is never found. Is there something I am doing wrong?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have installed Windows 8.1 on my laptop. My laptop is Hp 6510b. Windows 8.1 is working fine for me. But the only issue I am facing is that I am unable to see my Bluetooth in Settings. Hence I am unable to transfer files. My android is also not searching my laptop.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI just bought a Dell Inspiron 3537 with 500 gb hard drive capacity, 4 GB RAM, no graphics card and came with UBUNTU as its OS. So I made a clean install of Windows 8.1 pro myself. All the drivers that have been provided by the site installed perfectly, except for the 1705 wireless and bluetooth driver. It says that the driver isnt for my platform .. wth :@I even tried checking my drivers via Intel and it says that it doesnt recognize my wireless card.
View 10 Replies View RelatedI am using Inspiron 1545 which has Dell Wireless 365 Bluetooth Module which is of broadcom. When I try to install driver compatibility issue comes up. It doesnt proceed even though i have marked compatibility as windows 7 or vista too.
I have tried using the broadcom tool to detect the device and install the driver but that also fails to detect the module.
And when i use my second OS windows 7 bluetooth works flawlessly. So its only windows 8 not able to detect my hardware. I have also checked in device manager and there also it is not present.
I have a Dell XPS 420 PC that I've upgraded to Windows 8. I'm now unable to connect my bluetooth headset.
How I can install an updated driver for the Media Card Reader and Bluetooth (its combined)?
I have a Dell Inspiron 1545, the screen is broke so I use an external monitor which doesn't project BIOS or Boot up so I cannot see anything. I found a thread on here that adds the Intel Graphics Driver for Mobile 4 Series for Windows 8 which I supposed would work on 8.1.
The link I installed:
Mobile Intel Series 4 and Intel HD Graphics 1st Generation. I installed it and restarted the laptop for the GUI to start.
But as I restarted, the screen was blank. I tried cycling through projection modes as I usually do, but this time It didn't work.
I have no clue of how to remove the driver to as I cannot see anything on the external monitor as I've tried it on 2.
I've tried booting into Safe Mode but as I've said, I cannot see anything on the screen so I'm not sure where I am.
I recently installed Windows 8 Pro x64 on my Dell inspiron 3520. Just a few weeks down the line i noticed i was not able to access the control panel or any of the system properties.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a Dell Inspiron 7720 Win 8 x64 PC which includes UEFI (described in Microsoft link below). However, UEFI is accessed on Win 8 from Settings Charm > "Change PC Settings". This requires that you have booted the system already. In case of a main disk crash, you need to boot from another drive, like a thumb drive.
During restart my Dell PC displays "F12 Boot Options" in lower right of screen during restart, but multiple presses of F12 during startup are ignored. Likewise when I try F1 or F2 during startup. So I have no way to specify an alternate boot drive.
I am thinking maybe my PC is defective, but also maybe I'm missing something. What is UEFI? - Microsoft Windows Support
I can't find the Bluetooth option in PC Settings (more probems with Windows 8.1, I'm still not quite legendary with it )
Below is a screenshot of my PC Settings/PC and Devices Other forums said bluetooth was there, but it's not.
I have a lenovo thinkpad e430, but, i cannot find the bluetooth device. This is odd because i have installed the latest bluetooth driver for windows eight x64 from lenovo's official support page yet, although i have restarted the computer and though .net framework is installed (if im correct, is there anyway i can check) i cannot find any place to turn on bluetooth.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI currently use Win 8 on my main PC and on my laptop, I need to connect a Bluetooth speaker to either of them but keep running into the same problems. The PC is an Asus P8Z77V De-luxe, with its own Broadcom WIFI and Bluetooth. The Laptop is a Lenovo Z480, again with Broadcom WIFI and Bluetooth.
Whenever I try to connect the speaker, the device is detected correctly, then as soon as I click on it to install/pair, Win 8 begins to start pairing, but then shows the device as "offline" It does the same with the PC and the Laptop.
The speaker is working fine as is the Bluetooth - it connects flawlessly with my Samsung S3 - I have updated my Bluetooth drivers, uninstalled them, reinstalled them and nothing allows the pairing to complete. I have a Bluetooth headset and it has the same problem when I try to connect to my PC, but works ok with my laptop.
My computer crashed(?) and wouldn't go past the setup utility screen. I finally got my Windows 8 installation disc, now my computer is telling my it can't find a media driver.
View 1 Replies View RelatedJust bought Windows 8 from their web page and upgraded my win7.
My problem is that I'm stuck with a hopeless resolution because I can't install any display drivers.
As the headline says : Windows can only find "Microsoft basic display driver". When I try to install Nvidia drivers I get the "installation cannot continue" message.
I seriously doubt that it's hardware fault - it worked perfectly before the update to win 8.
Sometimes in the properties for the screen driver, the chiptype is listed as Nvidia, and sometimes it just says N/A...

Here's what I've done - besides googleing for the past 5 hours...: Updated intel chipset Tried the guide here: How to Fix NVIDIA Driver Update Installer Error - YouTube ---- this got me a little further but as soon as it tries to access my tv the installation dies (the time of a gfx installation where the screen flickers) Removed the windows driver. Uninstalled old nvidia drivers.

I have turned everything on including sharing, etc. I first noticed there was a problem yesterday when I tried connecting to a Sony Soundbar. It didn't find anything in the room. I attempted to connect my Blackberry to my laptop and it couldn't find that either. BUT....my Blackberry connected to the Sony Soundbar and my hands free ear piece. So I attempted Dell CS and they told me I was 2 weeks beyond my warranty and it would cost me $129 one time fee or $239 1 year unlimited. I find that this was completely unwarranted considering how long I've been a customer and how many computers I have purchased from them in my lifetime. My warranty ended on 8/15/14. I've had nothing but problems with this laptop and even had to re-install the entire OS back in May due to a BSOD drivers error crash. I mean, come on.
I've downloaded Windows essentials for windows 8 but don't know where to find it. It does not show up when I do the search.

View 2 Replies View RelatedSo I bought this wireless game controller for my pc. I plugged it in at home and set to trying to getting it connected. It didn't seem to be connecting to any bluetooth network, so I looked for bluetooth in control panel and it didn't exist. I found out how to turn on bluetooth, but it seems in my 'Change PC Settings' menu there is no Wireless option. I went to the windows 8 metro thing and searched for 'wireless' and again nothing comes up at all. I checked my network and sharing center and then to change adapter settings and Ive got my Qualcomm Atheros AR922x Wireless Network adapter there and the device is working fine, just not connected to anything. Does that even work for bluetooth and connecting wireless peripherals?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm using hp pavilion dm4 and after all the internet search I'm unable to use my bluetooth under the OS windows 8.1 X64. Need to find the driver or some other way to get my bluetooth activated.
At the same time I'm confidentially able to use my wifi no problem in it but in settings>devices bluetooth doesn't exist...
I was having the issue where windows 8 randomly disconnects bluetooth devices, so i tried to remove then reinstall it. When trying to remove, after a while, it comes up with a message saying "Unable to remove device".
So I go straight to device manager and uninstall my mouse from there. it works. I go back to the windows 8 show bluetooth devices menu and the mouse is still there. I hit remove and it works.
Now when i restart my computer its BACK in both device manager and bluetooth device menu. I just want it off and gone.
I have a new laptop with Windows 8 and I really like it. I also have an older Dell Inspiron 1521 with an AMD 64 bit processor, 4 gig of RAM and a 160 gig SSD. It runs Win7 just fine and I believe it will run Windows 8. My new laptop came with 8 installed so I don't have a box to check the low end specs for running 8. I have Linux on it now and I would like to run both. It boots in to Linux in 20 seconds, about the same time as my new Windows 8 laptop.

Windows was booted ones and it was all fine but when i restarted the computer it consistently led to the screen "your pc ran into problem and needs to restart...." I tried turning back to ISRT and same, I reinstalled windows and turn the acceleration of but after installing the driver an error was occurred says "your computer does t meat the minimum requirements....".
I turned back to ISRT and tried to install the windows again but it could not find the hard drive even after browsing through usb (it was loading and loading but didn't find anything) and now i really don't know what to do...
I have a Dell Inspiron One 2330, which had Windows 8 Pre Installed, one fine day it stopped booting windows 8...
No matter, I had the recovery media... I made a full system restore... and nothing... it still does not boot.
Black screen after windows logo.
Dell Diagnostics accused no trouble whatsoever, all the tests performed successfully.
After a lot of tinkering, I managed to go back to Windows 7, the system runs fine, but I am running a trial license of Win 7, as I have not yet bought a license (I actually tried restoring the system using the Dell generated backup disks AND the Windows 8 OEM Disk, provided after those did not work).
What could be preventing Windows 8 from booting, since neither the installation fails, nor the HDD acuses any problem?
I have an Inspiron One 2305 All in One with touch display and was planning to upgrade to Windows 8. However, I just noticed on the Dell Support site that they do not support the upgrade, and thus, don't recommend owners of this computer doing the upgrade.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to figure out if my Dell Inspiron N4010 has full compatibility with Windows 8. I downloaded the Windows 8 Upgrade Assistant. The two issues I have are Secure Boot and was touch capabilities my Dell Computer has if I decide to upgrade to Windows 8.
View 1 Replies View RelatedSince I've updated to 8.1 my laptop is taking a long to boot up and when it finally does load it's slow as hell.
I'll then be playing Football Manager and when I hit the windows key to go back to my desktop it freezes. I've tried opening task manager and that freezes too, the only thing that functions properly is the metro screen.
I thinking it's a compatibility issue with a program that's causing it.

Yesterday, I restored my Inspiron 15 to it's factory settings. Post-reset, I installed all drivers for Windows 8 directly from the Dell website except for the AMD driver which I took from the AMD website (just wanting to get the latest directly from the source, I guess). I also used that "Dell Detect" thingy to make sure I have all the latest drivers for everything.
After installing, everything worked great, but I realized that when the display turns off / when I shut down the laptop / when I close the lid, it does not turn off the computer or hibernating it or making go to sleep - it just keep running but there is no display, total darkness. Trying to press the power button / F4-F5 / any other button-pressing related solution did not work, only hard-reset.
Googling this issue, I found that it is very common, and many people with almost brand new Dell laptops, just like me, have encountered the same problem. In most of the solutions offered it was said that doing so would cause the system to mainly use the Intel Graphics HD card and not the AMD, meaning that for games and graphics, the AMD won't matter, which doesn't seem to be fair after paying extra exactly so I can have a dedicated card.
Either way, I started with the first which was using Windows Update. After checking the Windows Update updates list, I saw 2-graphic card related items - something called Graphics Adapter WDDM, one for the AMD card and the other for the Intel Graphics HD. After installing this update, I realized I can successfully turn off the laptop.
Once I turned it back on this morning, I got a pop-message:
I then realized that it just simply doesn't see/use/detect the AMD card. This is how my AMD Catalyst looks right now:
Looking at Everest, you can see it only sees the Intel Graphics HD:
However, device manager is still listing the AMD card as if it's properly working:
And if you look at the event log, you can see that initial driver was installed right after the Windows 8 fresh install I made a day and a half ago, and then there's other events, last night, around the time when I installed the Windows Update thingy:
