Most of the game i've installed are not compatible with my windows 8 single language. Of course my laptop's requirements are enough for the game but the problem lies within the windows 8. Are there any solutions to this matter ?
View 2 RepliesI just bought this Sony VAIO Fit 15a and i play fps games like League of Legends, Dota2 and COD4:MW and at the first ten or so minutes i play them smoothly but after that the fps will be halved and it seems like its lagging. I tried to play them all in lowest settings but the problem still persists.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI've got a problem with Windows 8.1 Single Language Edition 64-bit (English/Russian/Ukrainian).
When Windows 8 updated to 8.1 last year through the Store, I lost the ability to Restore and Refresh (a feature I had used several times previously).
Since then I have been using the same installation of 8.1, and it has finally become too laggy and bloated and I need desperately to Restore (files are all backed up and removed from computer, ready for Restore).
Things I have tried already:
- Found my Product Key using a keyfind program. My version of 8.1 came preintalled on the laptop, no DVD case, or e-mails with Key.
- Made a recovery USB Flash Drive (my laptop doesn't have a DVD drive). Recovery drive works when I boot from BIOS, but says it is invalid when I try to Restore.
- Tried to download an official ISO file from Microsoft, but the site says my Product Key is invalid (its not invalid).
- Tried using the Enterprise Trial ISO to Restore, and am now stuck with an expired trial copy of Enterprise.
I still have the Recovery Partition, and didn't delete it when I made the Recovery USB.
My computer is an ASUS Zenbook prime UX31A. All I want is to Restore. Even if its back to Win 8. I do not understand why all options seem to be broken since the update to 8.1. It seems intentional.
I want to Restore legitimately, and use the product I bought legitimately. But if this continues I may have to seek "alternatives".
I have been trying to change my language all day but I cant seem to execute the command "dism /Online /Add-Package /PackagePath:C:lp.cab" in my command prompt. I get the above error. I have downloaded the language pack and put it in my root C drive and renamed it ip.cab

One week ago I bought a new Inspiron 15-5547 with Windows 8.1 preinstalled. I tried downloading some online games and they simply will not work. My machine freezes as soon as I log in. I've been told by a GM from one of the games that the problem is that the game requires DirectX 9 for graphics and what is being downloaded is DirectX 11 which does not have some files that version 9 has. I have bounced back and forth between the game forums and Microsoft without success.
I have tried downloading all kinds of DirectX End User Run Times from Microsoft and one of two things always happens. Either the installer says I have the newest version and I do not need DirectX 9 or the installer says that I do not have a version of Windows that can run DirectX 9. Apparently, that installer is old enough that it can't recognize Windows 8 as an actual version of Windows. The only other suggestion I've gotten is to install an older video driver from Dell and see if that will work.
What do I have to do to get the product keys for the installed operating system? What do I do to re-install in case of a failure. Where is my copy of the software so I can re-install it?

After a replacement pc, I installed the same games(on win 8) but they lag, especially when the cut-scenes are played, the audio and video are out of sync in Far Cry 3, Tomb Raider(the latest one by MS) and darkness 2, why and how to solve this?
I run all the games on 1280x800 resolution with low settings on Windows 8 however on win 7 I ran them on 1366x768 with low settings and it worked fine.
I've got a new laptop (Dell Inspiron 17r special edition) for 1 week now, and last night I've been playing Devil May Cry and I started noticing lag. View 1 Replies View RelatedI just received my Inspiron 15z with 32GB mSATA and 500GB HDD, and I was disappointed to find that Windows 8 is installed on the 500GB (presumably 5400 RPM) HDD. For performance sake, I expected that the OS would be installed on the mSATA drive.
I'm not sure the best way to fix this with the Recovery Media, as I've never done this before. I don't want to run into Windows activation issues, but I want to do a clean installation using the mSATA drive as my OS drive.
I don't really care about the recovery partition, since it's apparently configured incorrectly (in my opinion). I just want the OS on the mSATA drive.
Does not recognize my Airport Extreme or Express even though they are working fine and recognized by my iMac in the other room. I currently stream iTunes via the iMac, but would prefer to use my Windows 8 machine. But, so far, no go with Airport and iTunes does not have a speaker selector (probably cuz Airport not working).

The preinstaller said my machine might not be compatible because it appears that my processor would not support NX, but it would try to turn it on when installing.
Well.....after nearly an hour of installing at the very end it says... there was an error and your system cannot be installed and we are returning you to your original state.
I am STUNNED that Win 8 will not run on something as recent or advanced as an HP XW6200 workstation. What the heck is Microsoft thinking to design an OS that will leave out such recent and advanced equipment.
I've looked all over HP, MS, and the net to see if there is anything about these workstations and NX, but I cant find any info.
On HP website they simply say there is no information on whether or not the xw6200 is compatible.
I cant find anything in the BIOS to turn on NX.
I have several of the xw6200 and many more xw6400s which I am sure will be the same issue.
I have a HP Pavilion dv7 running Windows 7 64-bit and Office 2010 Starter. There is a known issue that when you attempt to run the Windows 8 upgrade Assistant, it displays Office 2010 Starter as "Not Compatible". In order to correct this, you need to install an update (KB2553141). The problem is that even with the update installed, the upgrade assistant still points the Office 2010 as not compatible.
