Feb 28, 2014
I have been trying to change my language all day but I cant seem to execute the command "dism /Online /Add-Package /PackagePath:C:lp.cab" in my command prompt. I get the above error. I have downloaded the language pack and put it in my root C drive and renamed it ip.cab
while i am trying to update my windows 8 single language from the windows store after downloading all the important updates then also it provide this kind of error. here by i am adding the screenshot of the error message. i have also disable antiviruss and firewall
This pops up sometimes on the desktop after I power on
Your PC RAN into a problem: C:WindowsMinidump-40214-46000-01.dmp C:WindowsMEMORY.DMP C:UsersUserAppDataLocalTempWER-104406-0.sysdata.xml
It asked me to send details to windows and I sent. I don't know what's the problem and these are the only other problems I experienced: 1)Slower cold booting 2)It takes a longer time for the lights to off after shutting down. We can only turn the switch off after the lights off
Recent PC activities: 1) Defragmentation for OS(C) and Data(D) 2) Installed and played The Sims 3 (usage is around 9GB) with Mods 3) OS(C) Disk Cleanup deleted items: Downloaded Program files, Temporary Internet files and Temporary files (not sure if I deleted System Error Memory Dump Files & System Error Minidump Files or not)
I bought the sony laptop with single language pack. The OS language is in spanish. I need to change the language to english. How to change the OS language in single language windows 8.
My laptop Vaio is running windows 8.1 single language and I want to renew install it. But recovery in lap is windows 8 with i just want install drive C and keep my files on other drive.
I want to know how to upgrade Windows 8 single language to Windows 8 Professional, what is the way? Should I use third party program or not? I don't know.
I only have a Windows 8 Single Language key purchased. They mostly sell that version in my country. But I need to perform a clean install of Windows 8.1. How can I do this? How to get the ISO? I can't install 8.1 PRO ISO with a generic key and they use the SL key to activate right?
I maked Windows 8.0 Single Language EN-US ISOs (x86 and x64) from RU-RU ISOs (I removed Russian and added English).
When I try to install it in VMware Workstation (I tried x86, then I tried x64), on a half installation on both installations it says error: Windows could not see the offline locale information. Error code: 0x80000001.

Can a group of computers (20-25 Units), all running Windows 8 Single Language, share files, printers and an internet connection via a LAN? I need to make sure that the OS I will be getting with my new machines will be able to do this. The cheapest license I could get for this is the Windows 8 SL? Is if up for the job? I also have 2 switches, a router and my internet source is from a cable modem.
I've got a problem with Windows 8.1 Single Language Edition 64-bit (English/Russian/Ukrainian).
When Windows 8 updated to 8.1 last year through the Store, I lost the ability to Restore and Refresh (a feature I had used several times previously).
Since then I have been using the same installation of 8.1, and it has finally become too laggy and bloated and I need desperately to Restore (files are all backed up and removed from computer, ready for Restore).
Things I have tried already:
- Found my Product Key using a keyfind program. My version of 8.1 came preintalled on the laptop, no DVD case, or e-mails with Key. - Made a recovery USB Flash Drive (my laptop doesn't have a DVD drive). Recovery drive works when I boot from BIOS, but says it is invalid when I try to Restore. - Tried to download an official ISO file from Microsoft, but the site says my Product Key is invalid (its not invalid). - Tried using the Enterprise Trial ISO to Restore, and am now stuck with an expired trial copy of Enterprise.
I still have the Recovery Partition, and didn't delete it when I made the Recovery USB.
My computer is an ASUS Zenbook prime UX31A. All I want is to Restore. Even if its back to Win 8. I do not understand why all options seem to be broken since the update to 8.1. It seems intentional.
I want to Restore legitimately, and use the product I bought legitimately. But if this continues I may have to seek "alternatives".
I just bought this Sony VAIO Fit 15a and i play fps games like League of Legends, Dota2 and COD4:MW and at the first ten or so minutes i play them smoothly but after that the fps will be halved and it seems like its lagging. I tried to play them all in lowest settings but the problem still persists.

Most of the game i've installed are not compatible with my windows 8 single language. Of course my laptop's requirements are enough for the game but the problem lies within the windows 8. Are there any solutions to this matter ?
So does this means the ISO I have is tampered with? I don't feel safe installing Windows 8 from the ISO. I am now downloading a supposedly untouched russian ISO but where to download the English Language pack and how to replace it in the ISO while still keeping it a bootable ISO?
i am using an inspiron 14 with windows 8 single language (US English).
i recently downloaded a chinese music player from www.duomi.com and windows 8 is only displaying part of the chinese wordings in the software correctly, the rest are like alien characters.
Windows Update works.Everything below is done in an elevated command window.SFC /scannow fails. Error is "Windows Resource Protection found corrupt files but was unable to fix some of them."DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /StartComponentCleanup completes without error.DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /ScanHealth completes. Says corruption is repairable.DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth fails with error code 0x800f081f.DISM log is full of Chinese characters (attached).SFCFIX completes. Says there is no corruption.Tried above in safe mode w/ networking. SFC and DCIM fail to complete.Ran Microsoft Safety Scanner against computer. No infected files.Ran SFC and DISM 11 times.Compared SFC and DISM logs to a set on a working computer (no errors). Exceptions in faulty computer logs are also present in working computer logs.
After updating to 8.1u1, i'm running "dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth" and I get the following:
C:WindowsLogsDISM>dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth Deployment Image Servicing and Management tool Version: 6.3.9600.17031 Image Version: 6.3.9600.17031 [==========================100.0%==========================] The restore operation failed. Either the repair source was not found or the comp onent store cannot be repaired. Error: 0x800f081f DISM failed. No operation was performed. For more information, review the log file. The DISM log file can be found at C:WindowsLogsDISMdism.log
is this something I can repair from my original 8.1 Pro ISO, either as ISO or extracted? The setup event logs mentions 3 errors, so presumably this is the issue.
I have a desktop computer running Windows 8.1 Pro 64-bit. My computer suffered from an improper shutdown during a power outage. I am getting multiple error messages on logging in, and the sfc /scannow command shows several corrupt files, including msvcr80.dll and multiple others, preventing programs like Microsoft Word from running properly.
I am getting the message after running sfc /scannow in an elevated command prompt that Windows Resource Protection found corrupt files but was unable to fix some of them.
Details are included in the CBS.Log %WinDir%LogsCBSCBS.log. I used the findstr /c:"[SR]" %windir%LogsCBSCBS.log >"%userprofile%Desktopsfcdetails.txt" command to get this log outputted to a sfcdetails.txt log, and it shows which files are corrupt.
I then decided to turn to DISM, in an elevated command prompt, to ensure the component store was good, so that SFC can fix the files. This is where I am getting lost.
Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /CheckHealth states that: The component store is repairable. However, when I run Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth , I am told (after some minutes of it running) that DISM failed, no operation was taken, with an error code of 0x80240021.
Looking at the dism.log file, I am seeing a very long log. These are the initial lines:
[2344] Caller did not request sparse mount [2344] Mounting new image. Wim: [?GLOBALROOTdeviceharddisk0partition1RecoveryWindowsREWinre.wim] Image Index: [1] Mount Path: [C:WINDOWSTEMP35f47719-b059-4f12-b5ee-101b2768bade]
[Code] .....
From what I can make, some file name or directory is incorrect? I have attached my dism.log file (saved as a .doc file for attachment purposes), my sfcdetails.txt log (obtained from the sfc /scannow function), and a screenshot of the Repair-WindowsImage -Online -RestoreHealth error message when I run it in PowerShell. How I can run DISM correctly to fix my component store.
I have bought lenovo g50-70 just 20days back, it came with inbuilt windows 8.1, they did not give any recoverable disks with it rather they said to take back up of the OS into a usb stick but I forgot to take the backup and tried to partition the hard disk using EASEUS Partition manager then I got this error "0XC0000225"
lately Iv'e been having trouble booting my windows 7 and decided that it's time to upgrade, I bought a copy ofr windows 8 64-bit from microsoft and burned it onto a disk using the windows 7 usb/dvd downloader. I was doing all this from a 32-bit and thus applied the bootsect.exe as needed. When i boot from the disk, everything runs smoothly. I insert the required code and select custom install.
At this point, i select the partitiion and proceed. as the installation proceeeds, it does not apear if the first phase of installation does anything, even after 5 minutes it stays at 0%. after it finaly switches to the next part, I wait again for the next phase, but it only throws up a message "windows cannot install required files. make sure all files required for installation are available, and restart the installation. error code 0x8007048F"
After multiple attempts I decided to reinstall windows 7, but now I get the same error.
In Win Mail I keep getting this error code every time I try to send in receive on just one of my mail accounts. It is a .rr. account. I can send and receive, but I keeps filling my inbox with the same emails over and over. Almost like the emails haven't "cleared the server" and the server keeps sending me the same emails.
I have Windows 8.1 PRO x64bit SK (Slovakian Language Interface) + (Update 1) and Samsung Galaxy S3 GT-I9300 Android Ver. 4.3 Jelly Bean.
My problem is: Windows doesn't see my smartphone when I connect the USB cable to the phone and the computer. I dont have installed Samsung KIES , because i trying to install KIES SW yesterday, but I was wrong and kies phone absolutely not seen and not recognized.
Trying to update drivers SAMSUNG Electronics Co., Ltd. - Other hardware - SAMSUNG Mobile MTP Device and SAMSUNG Electronics Co., Ltd. - Other hardware - SAMSUNG Mobile USB Composite Device via device manager and nothing to do , i got error message this device driver was not recognized.
You'll need to use the recovery tools on your installation media. If you don't have any installation media (like a disc or USB device), contact your system administrator or PC manufacture.
Press Enter to try again Press F8 for Startup Settings Press Esc for UEFI Firmware settings
When I press Enter OR F8 screen just flashes but nothing happens and I also tried to re-install windows 8, installation was successful but windows could not load but appeared that couldn't attempt the repairs.

I am trying to download the windows 8.1 on a windows 8.0 Toshiba S855D-S5120Laptop. Laptop specs 2.3 APU A10 Quad Core, 700 Giga HDD, 8 Giga RAM, and graphic ATI 2 giga memory 1200 x 800 screen . The OS is the first edition of windows 8.0 and I had widows preview 8.1 on it downloaded from the windows store. When I download the windows 8.1 from the store, I get this error code 80240031 ( I looked up the error coded and it mean invalid file) at 50% file download. I have used the windows restore function to restore the laptop to windows 8.0 and still the windows update does not work. I have tried resetting setting to default factory settings and same thing happens with the download. I have also bought the window pro 8.1 pack and the same thing with the windows 8.1 it stops at 50% and same error code comes up. I have also done the WSReset.exe and no improvement. I have all of windows updates and still nothing I do is working.
Windows 8 Backup has been working fine for 12 months to an external Seagate USB hard drive.I'm now getting a "device not ready" message with error code 0x80070015 and the backup fails within 30 secs of starting. I've checked the drive for errors and there are no problems. I can read /write files to the external drive. There is ample spare space on the external drive to store the backup file. How to investigate and solve this problem.
I have been using Windows 8 Pro for about five months and running the backup utility for about four months with no major issues. I have used it to create a system image and scheduled to back up my data files weekly.
For the past two weeks I have been getting an error message "error code 0x80780049" along with a message that my files did not backup.
My backup is via esata to an external drive and as mentioned above this was working fine (I even tried a restore of a couple of files to prove it) but now it will not complete the backup. I even deleted the entire backup and started again from scratch but backup fails at about 50% completion. I have checked with windows defender and no viruses exist.
