Debugging :: BSOD Using Chrome (YouTube) And Playing Planetside2
Jul 4, 2014
I tried to fill in as much of my computer information as I could in my profile's system specs.
I've had 3 BSOD's in one day.
The first was while watching a video on youtube using Chrome. I had a few tabs open at the same time. Wasn't expecting a problem. The BSOD happened suddenly without warning.
The second was while playing Planetside 2. The fans spun up to 100% (I couldn't hear them with headphones, I just felt it) and then it crashed.
The third was also with Planetside 2. Fans spun up, I didn't realize it, BSOD.
After that I was hyper aware of the fans. They would start spinning up and I would switch to desktop and they would instantly spin down. I'd wait 10 seconds and go back into the game and it was fine for a while. Then it would do it again.
Brand new laptop so probably driver issues and maybe hardware.
The file is attached.

I have been getting this very annoying BSOD when ever I try to watch videos on a web browser or open multiple (youtube?) pages.
My default browser is google chrome but this error also occurs in firefox and internet explorer. I have tried disabling hardware acceleration but the problem still occurs. I've also replaced the RAM(memtest didn't show any errors) but that didn't solve the issue. I've also used different drivers for my GPU and the problem still occurs.
I can play graphically demanding games without a hitch but it's the browsers that are causing this problem.
I used bluescreen view to get a better idea of what's causing this and it shows that tcpip.sys is what causes the crash. A crash that occured last night was caused by ntoskrnl.exe+29652f and tcpip.sys+16bba1.
My system is a:
Win 8.1 64Bit
AMD Phenom II x4 955
AMD HD Sapphire 7850
8GB of DDR3 1600mhz RAM
256GB SSD Crucial MX100(OS)
320GB WD HDD(Data)
60GB SSD OCZ Vertex(Games)
And my wifi adapter is a Tenda wireless N150.
I tried using theSF diagnostic tool to capture the BSOD dump but when trying to install it said it needed framework which it was not able to download.

Today I was playing a Facebook game, and I had Youtube playing a song. I scrolling down the Youtube page to see what other songs it recommended to me and my PC crashed. After the computer restarted there was a problem with my video card drivers which was causing everything to be viewed at a different resolution. This led me to believe it was a problem with my video card drivers. Therefore, I checked ATI's website and they have a newer beta driver so I installed that. I was curious to make sure the BSOD was a video card driver issue so I fired up bluescreenviewx64. Its saying the crash was caused by tcpip.sys driver.

I just put together a computer yesterday, and while most things seem to be working fine, I've been having some problems with YouTube and certain websites that have embedded ads with animation. The computer either freezes up completely or sends me to a BSOD that cites the problem as WHEA_uncorrectable_error. It happens almost every time within a few seconds of the video starting. It also froze once just sitting on the desktop with only a Steam download in the background, but I haven't seen that happen again.
Oddly enough, I've run several games on Steam to see if it would have the same effect, but I haven't run into that problem yet while playing games. Netflix and Hulu also seem to work fine.
Nothing is overclocked. I got drivers for the video card and mobo from the company websites, although I'll admit that I don't know much about that. My report from the diagnostic tool is attached. My build is posted below.
CPU: Intel Core i5 4590
Graphics Card: Radeon R9 280X (Sapphire)
MOBO: Gigabyte GA-H97-D3H
Power Supply: EVGA Supernova NEX750B (750 W)
HD: Seagate Barracuda 1 TB 7200 RPM
SSD: Samsung 840 EVO 250 GB
RAM: G.Skill Ripjaws X Series 8 GB
OS: Windows 8.1, 64 Bit

I'm facing BSODs on my system. It mostly appears when I'm using Chrome, especially using Youtube or any flash applications (like games on Facebook). In games it also crashes from time to time (e.g. Assasins Creed 4).
Programs for controlling the fan of my R9-280x lead to crashes a lot, I deleted those already (e.g. Sapphire Trixx).
My system:
Windows 8 - 64 bit
8 GB RAM
Sapphire Vapor-X R9-280x graphics
Intel i5 4670K
Samsung SSD 840 pro Evo (I already checked this one and optimized it, but this didn't do the trick).
Nothing is overclocked, temps should be fine.

My Msi Ge70 2oe is 5 moths old and i got several BSODs since purchase. I updated most drivers in April, still got 6xBSOD this month. Most of them System_Service_Exception and addressing ntoskrnl.exe+59769. idk what that means, think have some really bad drivers it happens mostly using chrome.
Using manufacturers Live update 5 to update, although not installed some optional like norton internet security. Checked memtest and windows memory test programs, nothing unusual.

I just purchased a new SSHD for my HP DV9830US laptop that was running Vista 64-bit. Purchased Windows 8.1 for a clean install on the new SSHD.
I noticed I would get random BSOD doing different tasks and what-not. Updated my BIOS and some other random drivers, and it seemed to fix the problem for the most part.
Then I installed Steam and Counterstrike, and while playing, the game will freeze and my system just does a hard reboot midgame after the freeze. The audio file that was last playing during the game does a repetitive laggy sound during the freeze.
I have used the SF_Debug_tool and attached the file.

I've attached the requested logs, as mentioned in the instructional posts relating to BSODs.
Some background to what happens:
- I open Hearthstone (through a Battle.net launcher)
- At random points in the game, I get a BSOD with either a BAD_POOL_HEADER or DPC_WATCHDOG_VIOLATION
What I've done:
- Checked on the Sony VAIO Update Center for any updates
- Run a Windows Update to ensure I have the latest patches
- Checked the Intel Website for any updated drivers
Worth noting:
- The wireless card drivers are higher than the version stated through VAIOUpdate (I don't know how I managed to do this). However, when I run the VAIOUpdate to set this to the right version, it fails to install. Should I rollback to the version listed in VAIOUpdate?

I recently purchased a 2nd hand PC back in June and unfortunately have experienced about a dozen BSODs when playing games.
They seem to occur randomly. There has been times where I have been able to play games for hours without BSOD at all.
I thought it was an issue with my graphics card drivers so I updated them to the latest version (I believe AMD 14.2) but the Blue screens continued to happen. I restored the drivers back to default and that is what I am currently using.

I purchased a new computer in the last few days, pre-installed Windows 8. I was having the odd error message where Chrome would stop working and reload. Or sometimes an error message saying my computer would restart. They are different messages:
Memory Management
IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL
Special Pool Detected Memory Corrupt
I downloaded all updates for Windows 8, then updated to 8.1 and downloaded all but one update available (Bing Desktop). I am still getting these BSOD. Sometimes in Chrome, sometimes in Steam, and sometimes randomly
I've run the Memory diagnostic tool in Windows, and it found no errors. I've attached the SF Diagnostics folder which was created.

I often play League of Legends, but in the last two days my computer has given me a BSOD three times, with the error Driver IRQL not less or equal. Before every time this has happened it has told me to close League of Legends, because there is not enough RAM to support it. I know this isn't the case, because I have 8 gigabytes of RAM and I don't have many background processes (in the task manager it said I was using a total of 33 percent before the time of the crash.)

I'm getting BSODs when playing Portal 2 on steam 30 mins - 2 hours into the game). I'm using windows 8.1 (upgraded from 8.0 key) and have fairly new hardwares installed recently. Outside of Portal 2 I have not encountered any other BSOD errors, including a 6+ hours session in Tomb Raider 2013 which may rule out overheating etc.
I can't recall the error ID on the BSOD screen because it was fuzzy. But this happened twice today and yesterday. All I could find in the eventviewer is Kernel-Power and BugCheck
