My system(HP pav-g6) is dual booted with win7 and win 8.1 I have installed all recommended drivers from HP and done all windows updates. I crash trying to wake from sleep. In win 7 this problem does not occur. Check disk, seatools, & memtest have already been completed with all passes.

my hp pavilion dv6 6514nr sleeps when i close the lid and anytime i try to open it up it it crashes with the BSOD: system thread exception not handled screen i tried using blue screen view to read the dump files but it showed me it had something to do with ntoskrnl.exe
View 8 Replies View RelatedI usually boot my machine in the morning, use it for a bit and then leave for work. After a time, the machine goes to sleep. About 5 or 6 hours latter, WMC wakes the machine to record a TV show. The recording never happens. When I get home, the machine is one but unresponsive with no display. The power button does not shut the machine down. I have to long hold the power button to kill the machine. In addition, if the machine sleeps for a shorter period and I wake it with the mouse, it crashes and restarts. I had to look at a log to find out that the machine restarted because, again, no display.
What I've done:
Updated the BIOS
sfc /scannow (revealed errors)
... /RestoreHealth (fixed errors)
Drive and memory diagnostics
Checked my problem against this forum which revealed other crash at wake threads but I'm not able to interpret the log file...

This computer has been crashing after coming out of sleep since I built it.
I have tried changing the hybrid sleep options, but it still crashes like clockwork.
My computer randomly crash when i sleep the computer. normally, it should sleep and the power light should be off in 30 seconds, but when it crash, it takes 5 minutes and finally the computer shutdown instead of sleeping.
And the problem is... i can't have the screenshot of my bluescreen because it always happened when the screen is off....
if i opened memory.dmp with windbg ,it sayd "memory corruption"..... Here is my debug file generated by SF, i opened it with windbg(64 bit) and it says "Probably caused by : ntoskrnl.exe ( nt+5a440 )" it seems a system application ,how could i solve it?
I have a Lenovo u410 Ultrabook with an odd problem that began 3-4 months ago that I've been unable to resolve.
Whenever the laptop resumes from sleep mode it forces a complete restart and fails to create a dump file. I have verified that windows is set to create dump files and if I force a crash in some other way I will get a dump file but when it crashes when trying to resume my minidumps folder remains empty.
As far as I can tell it enters sleep mode fine and it's not until it tries to resume that the reboot is triggered. When the problem began I was on Windows 8 and since then have upgraded to 8.1 ... The laptop was able to sleep normally for the first 2-3 months I had it.
Things I have tried so far:
-Installing all the official drivers from the Lenovo support website.
- Running system file checker.
-Running the Microsoft Safety Scanner.
-Sleeping with no peripheral devices connected, tried both while running on AC and battery.
-Removing and re-seating the memory.
-Refreshing windows (I haven't tried a complete reset yet, hoping to avoid that if I can).
In event viewer I get the following error and critical event each time after it reboots:
Error: The previous system shutdown at <time> on <date> was unexpected.Critical: The system has rebooted without cleanly shutting down first. This error could be caused if the system stopped responding, crashed, or lost power unexpectedly.There are no other warnings, errors, critical entries.
I am attaching the results of the "Grab All" in the SF Diagnostic Tool right after a reboot. Other than sleep mode not functioning the laptop appears to be running normally without any problems.
My machine is crashing frequently with nothing at all in the event viewer to track down the cause.
I have run your tool on the machine and attached the .zip.
Im having random BSOD crashes. It randomly occurs when I play BF4 but can also happen when my PC is completely idle!

Computer has been recently crashing every so often. I update most of my driver, which at first seemed to fix the issue, but the BSOD started again. It also seems to crash when I am using IE11 desktop over Chrome but have not confirmed this yet.

I have solved this issue by not leaving my laptop plugged into my television through HDMI while it restarts to install updates. If you run into this issue, make sure you try leaving all ports open on your computer.
A few weeks ago my PC ran into a Blue screen of death error. I'm not sure why or exactly when it happened, but I think it may have led to the issues I have now. About 3 weeks ago (I think) I was playing a game and the forced restart to install updates thing popped up. It said I had 15 minutes before my system would restart and install updates. I was a bit cranky at the time, so I got mad and decided to look up on the internet how to disable forced restarts for windows 8. I came across a thread on a site much like this that explained how to open your system registry and delete the forced restart file or something similar.
I opened my registry and couldn't find it, so I ended up not deleting anything, but I did keep my registry open on accident and my computer restarted while it was open. It crashed during the update install and gave me a BSOD error. I restarted my computer and it began installing updates yet again. It got to 30% and then went black. A few seconds later, the Asus logo popped up with the loading circle below it. It said attempting to repair or something similar to that. It eventually failed to repair, so it asked if I would like to proceed with a system restore. Seeing no other options, I clicked yes. The screen went black again and the Asus logo showed up with the loading circle below it. It failed to system restore and took me to a blue screen that isn't the BSOD. It said there were other options like refreshing my system, and it assured me that I would not lose my files (but it said nothing about apps).
I decided to do that over the manufacturer restore. It worked, but I lost all of my apps that I had installed. After redownloading and installing all the apps, I thought it would be over. About a week later another windows update popped up. I thought it would work fine this time, so I let it go. The same thing happened, and I ended up having to system refresh again. This happens every time my computer restarts, and it is very aggravating. I'm not sure what to do about it, although I haven't tried to manufacturer restore yet.
TL/DR; My computer has to system refresh every time it restarts, causing me to lose all of my apps and have to reinstall them each time. I think it has something to do with my computer restarting to install updates while my system registry was open.
I wasn't sure what to provide for specs, so I'll just add in the usual Ram and stuff:

I can't remember the exact details but my computer Blue Screened with something about kernel memory exception (not entirely sure). This has been going on for weeks and I normally just ignore it.
Unfortunately its getting worse and I have a feeling my hardware is at fault but I'm not entirely sure.

I've had Windows 8 for more than a month now but didn't have any BSODs. These started like 4 days ago. They happen about 3/4 times a day, minimum. I have attached my SF Diagnostic Report
The error it gives me on the BSOD is 'BAD_POOL_CALLER'
I Just installed a fresh windows 8 on my computer and it worked fine until I installed the nvidia drivers. Without nvidia drivers it works fine, but after installing it it starts to freeze and crash. After I remove the nvidia driver is it works fine again. I tried the newest and the older nvidia drivers but none of them were stable. The symtopms are different each time. Sometimes BSOD sometimes some part of graphics on the screen goes pink sometimes the screen blacks out and does not return until I hard reset it.

So, I was on Windows 7 today, and my screen randomly blinked on and off for 5 seconds, and then came up with a message saying my system display driver crashed but had recovered. Then, about a minute later, it crashed again and came up with a BSOD saying that the display driver had crashed but failed to recover. I do not have the error code from it, as I only saw this screen once, and forgot to copy down the codde because I got freaked out But anyways, I have copied the system report to this post from the Seven Forums System Tool. I am currently running in safe mode on my Windows 7.

Initially, I was getting a "Kernel_Security_Check_Failure" BSOD about once every day or two. After running MemTest+ (and confirming my RAM was fine), I started reading around online and began thinking it was a driver issue.
At the time, I did have a Belkin Wireless USB adapter which did not have an official driver for Windows 8.1. I had gotten it to work by installing it in Win 7 compatibility mode. So to try and solve the problem, I uninstalled that driver and software, and went to hard-line ethernet. The BSOD's went away for about two days until:
Yesterday I had another crash. Except this time I didn't get a BSOD, but instead just a hard crash to black. When I rebooted I ran the Driver Verifier (after reading about it online), and then did a restart. When it booted back up, it started saying I had a "driver_verifier_detected_violation" BSOD appear, which was pointing to "nvlddmkm.sys". This looks like be some sort of Nvidia driver. I had to boot in safe mode to get back in and turn off driver verifier.
After a windows update my laptop always crashes when i turn on pc in battery mode. I saw some other thread's but i didn't see any of them solved .

View 1 Replies View RelatedEvery few days my computer will BSOD when waking from sleep. The screen will display this message as the error "DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL cmudaxp.sys". Also sometimes the system will crash during sleep but no mini dump will be created. I have looked at the minidumps that were created and the only thing its pointed to were the cmudaxp.sys driver, hal.dll and ntoskrnl.exe. I tried reinstalling the 8.1.8.1822 drivers for the soundcard but that did not solve the problem. Today i reverted back to older drivers 8.0.8.1821 and will see if this fixes it. .dmp files included in attachment.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI took my computer to a computer repairs to get my fan fixed and when I got it back I found that my computer kept crashing when waking from sleep. It happens every time and is inconvenient as it just resets. It also takes longer to turn on, it has a black screen for a short amount of time, it was not like this before, I can put up with the added turning on time but I need to be able to sleep and wake my laptop without issues.

This began suddenly about two weeks ago and has continued ever since. I get the usual Driver_State_Power_Failure message I have seen here.
When I attempt to upload a dump file, I get and invalid format error, and SF Diagnostics tool will not work for me either.
This computer worked wonderfully for 6th months and now it's a complete pain.
