I use to be able to copy ad paste but no longer can. I have treed with both MSIE 11 and Firefox 25. MSIE 11 does not work at all. With FF I found a work around by copying then at the site clicking on a little box that says Word or Plain Text. I then cv it and the message appears in this little box. it says it cannot work with my browser. Lastly I ok the little box and the message appears in the dialogue box it was meant to be in, in the first place.
I had to re-install Windows 8 and now when I select an article from IE on the desktop I can't Copy/Paste it either to Documents or a flash drive. There's no 'paste' on one and it's greyed out on the other. I have looked in past posts no luck.
I have windows 8 - I had created a doc on facebook and find that I can not paste URLs into this document.
I have tried using Google Chrome, Internet Explorer 8 and now Firefox.
Eventually I managed to copy on all 3 servers but I could not paste into my document using any of them.
I have now got it to work on Firefox (after several goes)but Google Chrome is my main server (it works better for the things I do), and I believe it is a W8 issue, so how to paste URLs using W8?
Copy menu works ok, but unable to paste because it throws me back briefly to the Metro window. This behavior doesn't work consistently but I have to log out and back in in order to correct it. Even reboot doesn't work.
Note: this is the File Explorer, not the internet browser.
I'm using a Intel 520 SSD (the ssd has all OK SMART, almost empty, and no background programs running).
For example when i copy-paste a small folder on the SAME SSD but on different locations, let's say 50mb, (or some files 50-70-30mb) everytime i see the copy window appearing, says copying, etc.
And on Windows 7 on the same files copy-paste, that procedure was instant, no window appearing that says copying.
And even a 360kb file opens the copying window. I have a 3770k 4.5ghz, 8gb ram, 680gtx.
So it's related to Windows 8, due to no updates to improve performance ?
I can't use the native Windows 8 copy/paste. Copy works, but when I paste, I get the "waiting" cursor, then get dumped to the Metro screen. So far, the only way I can move or copy things is with CFiShellToys or TeraCopy, and I installed these only after the Native Windows 8 Copy/Paste kept failing.
I've already run SFC at the command prompt, and according the the results, all is well.
I checked the Event log, and here it is.
Faulting application name: explorer.exe, version: 6.2.9200.16384, time stamp: 0x50107dbc
Word had worked well in Windows 7, but now, after I moved to Windows 8.1 almost everything is messed up. Most annoying thing is the copy-paste function. When I try to copy something, it can't be copied to the clipboard and some weird cursor appears when I click where to paste. When I try to cut, the string is saved in clipboard and it works fine.
Also, when I run Word in safe mode, all the functions work fine (even copy-paste).
What should I do? I tried Office Diagnostics, but it shows 0 errors.
When remoting from a Windows 7 machine to a Windows 8 machine copy and paste do not function. I restarted the RDPClip service on both machines, this can be replicated on multiple machines (this is in work environment).
We are going to be deploying Windows 8 company-wide once we get little issues such as this sorted out. I'm curious whether something changed that might need to be implemented with our group policy. We did not have an issue with this before so it's definitely specific to OS.
I have an ASUS RT-AC68U router with 9 DBI dual band antennas. I need a program that allows me to copy and paste files to the external hard drives which are connected to the router's USB ports. An example of the application I am seeking is called "Silex Virtual Link", I need one like this, I used to use this 1 on my old D-Link DIR-825 router but it is not working with my new ASUS router and ASUS tech support couldn't solve anything.
I would like to create a rule in Outlook. When I send a message; after it is sent, it automatically puts it into the Sent Mail of the Account.I would like Outlook also to copy the e-mail (from all accounts) to one folder. How can I do this?
If I can't do this from all accounts, how can I do it from one account? 'When I send an e-mail, after it is sent, copy them to Folder X.'
I bought a cheap Gateway, downloaded Firefox and got all kinds of junk with it. I ended up returning the Gateway for a better computer a ASUS and I've installed everything but Firefox. I'm scared to download it. Last time it took me 3 hrs plus virus and malware scans to get rid of all the junk that came with it.
Where and how I can get a clean copy of Firefox browser?
I also downloaded "open office" and got even more junk. Now with this new computer which I love, I don't want any of that junk.
Any easy way to copy URL links in Internet Explorer? In Chrome I just right click on a picture like in Farmville and I get the option to copy LINK URL or IMAGE URL. Can you do that in IE too? Chrome is my favorite but I've been having trouble with it in Farmville.
An old Microsoft email account (xxxxxxxx@MSN.COM) from the days before Hotmail when you still could get @msn.com addresses. Account correctly set up in Windows Mail App on Windows 8 machines, no issues. Account has one outlook.com alias.
This was the only email address I have had without two step verification. Last week something happened which made to rethink my complete online / domain / email security. I both changed the password of this @msn.com account to a very complicated one and set up the two step verification using the MS Authenticator App for Windows Phone 8. Tested the set up by logging out and logging back in with the new password and as it should be, outlook.com asked for the authentication code. All was well and working.
Next step was to open Windows Mail App and change the account password there. As expected, the Mail App told me to check settings of this account, clicking the Check Settings link opened the credentials dialog. I entered the xxxxxxxx@msn.com as email address, and the new password. Got an error message telling the credentials were wrong. Logged out, logged back in, tried again, could not get the app to accept credentials.
Signed out from Windows, back in, relaunched the Mail App, removed the xxxxxxxx@msn.com account as nothing I tried with original @msn.com or newer @outlook.com alias did work. From account settings I added a new account, trying both the original @msn.com and the @outlook.com aliases. Wrong credentials tells the app and does not let me add the account. Trying the same credentials on Outlook.com web interface works, no issues in signing in.
Notice that I am absolutely sure that although my new password is really complicated, I have typed it every time right. I have checked it using the View password feature, #1 in below screenshot:
Short version: Can't add an email account to Windows Mail App, credentials 100% sure correct.
Additional issue: This might be impossible to solve: I would like to set my 20 years old original @msn.com address again as the primary alias but apparently it is not possible:
It was the primary alias before the issues told above, has worked as an MS account to be used for instance as the login account for Windows 8.
On our desktop we are running Windows 8.1 and IE 11
On our laptop we are running Windows 8 and IE 10
When I visit the MS page to download IE 11 to install on the laptop I'm only being offered IE 10, also I do have 'install new versions automatically' ticked. Do I have some kind of setting on the laptop that is blocking this upgrade to IE 11?
Whenever I try to sync up my AOL account through the Mail app, it says that my email address "is unavailable". I try removing the account and re-adding it, all of my emails get re-synched, and then...nothing. Can't send emails, can't receive new emails. I tried checking and unchecking "sync mail", nada.
I just bought an HP laptop last week and I am trying to learn about the features. I have spent 12 years with my old desktop with MSN as my provider using slow dial up.
I was surprised that my msn e-mail account was able to switch over to my laptop so easily, since Time Warner is my provider on the new laptop.
I can access the e-mails without a problem, but I can neither reply nor send e-mails.
Instead, I always get the pink writing beneath the e-mail address stating that " one or more e-mail addresses does not support this format sample@something.com. Yet all the formats are correct.
I am trying to open a webpage [URL] in my laptop (Acer) but am unable to open it after entering username and password.
I am able to open it from my another laptop (Dell).
All I am getting is continuous circling of java after entering my login details. In the laptop where it is getting opened, after entering my login details, I straightaway get a pop up of security warning of do you want to run this application - but not in where it is not getting opened. After entering my login credentials, Java message just keeps circling. I compared java in both laptops, microsoft silverlight package, adobe flash, shockplayer, internet options, firefox options but still unable to proceed further after entering my login details. OS is Windows 8.1,jave installed is latest both 32 and 64 bits.Java verify is detecting java working fine, java settings shows it is enabled in browser I already uninstalled anti-virus and tried but still no success so re-installed antivirus.

A few days ago I went to Outlook.Com and established an email account. Now I want to delete that account and remove all things associated with Outlook.com but still retain my Microsoft Account. It might come in handy for getting Apps and other things from the Microsoft Store.
I tried to remove the Outlook.com email account using the instruction I found in How To Close & Delete Outlook.com Account I was unable to do so. When I got to the Close Microsoft Account section and pressed OK, it reminded me I needed to close any paid services associated with my Microsoft Account. I've no such services. Pressing OK again took me to the Account Summary page. There I could find no way to close the Outlook.com email account, just another Close Account that took me back to the previous step.
I can successfully browse our corporate website from my home using the connection provided by an isp. But as soon as I establish a vpn connection this site becomes inaccessible.
Both Firefox 30.0 and 27.0 installed, when I do a Reply in hotmail I cannot type into the body of the msg. Only the subject line. However FF 27.0 Portable works normally. So does Opera x64 and chromium.
After running CCleaner v 3.27.1900, I am unable to Login to Facebook directly. Selecting the icon in my favorites, IE, only results in the loading icon, with no connection to the site. The same thing occurs when manually entering a search and selecting Facebook.
However, when I receive an email advising me of activity from one of my Facebook friends, I can select SEE COMMENT and go directly and quickly to the Facebook page.
unable to connect to one particular website using Windows 8.1 with IE11 or Google Chrome.
Always get message...."This page can't bedisplayed", then when I check box to fix connection problem a dialog box displays message, "The remotedevice or resource won't accept the connection... xxx(web site) is not set up to acceptconnections on port 'The World Wide Web Service HTTP'."
There are no problems using IE11or Google Chrome in connecting to any other site(s) or exploring the internet. I do not have any 3rd party antivirus or malware protection. Have tried many different suggestion found in searching the web but no luck yet.

I am trying to build a recovery drive on a USB flash drive for Win 8.1. I have been unable to copy the Recovery Partition from the PC to the recovery drive. It appears to be disabled when I view it from the Recovery Drive. I have discovered that in Windows 8.1 the recovery partition is installed in a INSTALL.WIM file format. How do I locate the Windows 8.1 INSTALL.WIM file and how can I register the INSTALL.WIM file as the Recovery Image on my PC?
I downloaded the Windows 8.1 Enterprise evaluation kit and became totally lost.
I recently purchased an 64GB SDXC card and formatted it to Fat32. Sometimes it works, but most of the time I am unable to copy files to it. Windows 8 keeps saying problem with drive or something that pops up in top right corner. Anything I can do about this? The SDXC card is Pixtor SanDisk.
Currently running WinXP, meets all requirement for Windows 8. However, when I try to copy the ISO file to USB using Win7 DVD download tool to create a bootable USB device, the USB I'm trying to copy it to will not show up in the list of "Devices to Copy In".
I have tried this several times with 2 different USB drives, both 8GB, one with more than 4GB free and the another is completely empty. They both work perfectly well, but when I reach the screen with the list of devices to copy the ISO file on to (Step 3 of 4, Win7 USB/DVD Download Tool) they don't show up on the list despite re-inserting them and refreshing a couple hundred times. The only removable device that does show up is the Floppy Disk.
I am using the DVD is not an option, since my DVD player crashed last week and I don't have the time to get it fixed right now, and I'd really like to get Windows 8 installed as soon as possible.
I upgraded my computer's OS from W7 to Windows 8 some months ago. Not long after, I upgraded to the preview of the Windows 8.1 Pro. My Windows-license is legit, bought and valid. However, when I returned from my christmas holiday, I noticed the message in picture #2. Fair enough, I thought and proceeded forth.
Clicking 'Get Windows' got me to the screen pictured at #3. Oddly enough, I am unable to click any of the buttons, including Download, Home, Your apps and Your account. I can access the links further down on the page (which aren't included in this screencap) but for some reason I can't press anything else.
When I've tried to access the Windows 8 Store before this problem arised, even before I installed Windows 8.1, I have literally never been able to access the Windows 8 Store (See picture #1).
How do I go from here? I would like to register the Windows 8.1 ...
