According to BlueScreenView, ntoskrnl.exe is responsible for most of the BSODs. You will find the dump files and a list of all the hardware specs of my computer in the attached rar archive.
My OS is Windows 8 Professional (x64).

I tried everything. Clean installs, BIOS and all drivers update...
It gets blue, shuts off and restarts to DOS, and I have to remove the battery and unplug to restart to Windows.

Ever since I got my new pc, which was 3 months ago, I've been getting this message a lot, it occurs randomly, at one point I couldn't even install a pc game so I figured it was a memory problem thus I removed 2 of the memory chips (i have 4 8gb chip). after that the game installed perfectly but once in a while I still get this annoying frking message randomly, and it'll restart my pc... what am i suppose to do?
I run windows 8 pro 64bit 6.2.9200 Build 9200
Intel core i7-3970ghz, 6cores, 12 logical processors overclocked @ around 4100ghz

Debugging :: Lots Of Blue Screens When Normally Using Computer
Apr 10, 2014Since last week I'm getting a lot of blue screens which appear for no apparent reason, sometimes I leave the computer locked for dinner and when I come back, the computer has restarted with a blue screen.
I'm using Windows 8.1 with update 1, and the blue screen's message is IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL .
I suspect that this is happening because of a wi-fi receiver that I've installed on my computer a month ago.

Problem: My computer crashes randomly, sometimes while I'm working, sometimes while I'm away from the computer, there doesn't seem to be a pattern. Oddly enough, windows 8.0 ran just fine and never crashed. Windows 8.1 seems to crash much more frequently, and either blue screen or just lock up and reboot with no blue screen.
Suspected potential problem: When upgrading to windows 8.1, in order to get my very old cisco VPN client working, I had to install a citrix DNE (deterministic network) driver. I'm guessing it could be related to this and the old cisco client, though I have unchecked DNE on the network adapter and I have still had crashes, even with it unchecked/disabled in theory.
Debugging :: Win8 X64 - Blue Screens On And Off Multiple Times A Day
Sep 15, 2014So I have been getting Blue screens on and off for a fair time now ( few months ) from once per week to multiple times per day. I have been trying to fix the problem for a fair while but I feel I am getting nowhere in which the frequency of the blue screens doesn't seem to change no matter.
Steps I have taken so far:
- cmd>sfc /scannow: This might have been a culprit to some blue screens. At first when run I would get "corrupt files found but not fixed". After spending some time trying to refresh windows 8.1 and failing (as I only had Windows 8 key), eventually I did a clean install of windows 8 (and still having the same message). I have since acquired a windows 8.1 key and used that to refresh windows, and now the message is from sfc when run is "Windows Resource Protection did not find any integrity violations".
- Windows memory test : So I ran this and had no errors.
- cmd>verifier: I have recently tried that with no crashes ( I think I set it up correctly and when I rebooted it booted normally to windows following steps here : [URL] ....).
- Moved graphics card slot: So I move my graphics card down one slot on my motherboard in case there was a dodgy connection, but this didn't work
I have attached the output from the SF Diagnostic tool and also an additional text file generated from WhoCrashed with some additional information.
Debugging :: Numerous Blue Screens With Varying Error Messages
Oct 19, 2013I bought a new laptop (Vaio Pro) a couple weeks ago, and it's been bluescreening repeatedly ever since (about 20 times in two weeks). I'd send it back to the manufacturer, but I'm currently being interviewed for several jobs, each of which requires an interview presentation, so I absolutely definitely need access to it at the moment, and that's unlikely to change in the next few weeks sadly.
I've attached the Diagnostic Tool output.
The error messages appear unrelated, which I would guess is symptomatic of a fairly low level problem.? The most common ones are "DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL" and "PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA", but there are others (see dump files).
There's no obvious pattern to when the crashes occur, except maybe a very slight increased probability when playing a game (although it still happens when I'm working as well) .
Windows 8 - Using 2 Monitors / Screens
Dec 12, 2012I am trying to run 2 monitors in Win 8 and whilst it recognizes them, whenever I try and move say Chrome onto one then watch a video on the other it just closes Chrome then plays the video! And as you can't resize windows at all (that I can work out!) I can only do 1 thing at a time which is useless.

Sep 27, 2012The screens have been freaking out since I installed windows 8. I had it successfully running for about 10 minutes before this happened. I am now unable to get to the login screen without this happening.
I've been having issues for some time where my monitors will only 'fire off' part of the time on boot. They don't manage to secure a connection and sit there idle. Not sure if this could be related or not.
RAM: 4 GB ddr3

Taskbar All Screens With Open Window
Feb 8, 2013I have two screens and my current settings are: I got my taskbar on both screens with the opened windows in it's own taskbar.
This is good, but I just miss one thing: I can't attach a program/shortcut to the taskbar that is not my main screen/taskbar.
So I have to go to my main screen to open a program from my taskbar.
Windows 8.1 Support High Resolution Screens?
Mar 12, 2014I have a laptop with a 3200 x 1800 screen and the toolbars and menus of Illustrator and Photoshop are nearly illegible due to their minuscule size. Indesign displays normally, as does Lightroom.
On the adobe forums, two entries - Adobe Community: Photoshop CC on a High DPI display on Windows 8.1 and Adobe Community: Photoshop CC / Windows 8.1 HiDPI / Retina scaling support - suggest this is due to Microsoft not supplying required APIs (whatever these are...).
3200 x 1800 is still new, but over four months have passed since the posts on the adobe forums and the problem endures. Surely a giant such as Microsoft should already have that loophole closed? It is quite astounding that such an issue should even exist in the first place.
Multiple Taskbar On Same Screen Using Dual Screens
Sep 15, 2014Some weeks ago, I noticed an odd problem with my taskbar.
While using my laptop at home, I use an exterior monitor to extend my desktop, and usually set the monitor as my primary. Occasionally, I would notice that my open apps would appear to be greyed-out (and therefore un-clickable) on my secondary screen. All the pinned apps would be full colour, but would only respond to clicking as if I was starting a new version of the app (e.g. a new browser window rather than switching to the existing one).
It appears as though a second "ghost" taskbar was over top the main one, and only on one screen. This ghost taskbar would block any attempt to click on the taskbar underneath. Unlocking the taskbar and moving it, for example, to the side, would confirm this as the ghost taskbar would drag and snap to the edge, leaving the normal taskbar at the bottom of the (same) screen.
The ghost taskbar would disappear (or perhaps merely move behind the main taskbar) if the taskbar is swapped with the primary screen (causing the tray to move over).
A reload of Windows Explorer via Task Manager seems to be a temporary fix, as is restarting the computer. However, this issue may appear multiple times per session, and within a short time of any reload/restart. This also does not seem to occur when using only the laptop screen.
I do not run any desktop customization software, and have triple-checked for any Windows, Microsoft, or driver updates. I am moderately competent in doing repairs to the computer so long as I have reasonably detailed instructions on how to do the fix.
In Dual Screen Mode - Screens Won't Go To Sleep?
May 9, 2014I'm runnig windows 8 on my Sony labtop. The labtop is located in the kitchen. I connect the TV in the living room in ''dual screen mode'' to the labtop. When i'm listing to music on the labtop (windows media player), the 2 screens won't go to sleep even if I choose 1min to the sleep programing function. I found that there's two ways to choose the delay, in ''power saving'' mode and in control pannel. The thing is that the fix image on the labtop that is duplicate to the TV is actually breaking the TV (the images stay like phantom).
find a way to activate the ''fluid ligns animation'' on the TV afer one minute of inactivity on the labtop while listing to music.
Graphic Cards :: Setup Two Screens In Windows 8?
Oct 10, 2013My computer is an HP Laptop with a 17" screen. Today I connected a stand a lone monitor that is about 22". I've managed to get the resolution for the Laptop back to standard or native resolution.
However I'm going around in circles trying to get the larger monitor to it's proper resolution. How might I go about doing this and get the larger to respond independently from the Laptop Monitor?
Do I need some software to accomplish this or what?

Sep 15, 2014I'm having problems with my newly built computer, i build this badboy 3 days ago but it has lots and lots of problems :/. Whenever i play a video game it crashes after around 10 minutes of gameplay, i can hear the speakers buzzing when it crashes and it won't throw me any error ( nor am i getting a BSOD ). I checked the event logs but my knowledge has failed me!

Two Machines That Share Two Monitors - KVM And Disappearing Screens
Jun 12, 2013My System : I have two machines that share two monitors by the use of two KVMs. They both use Nviria GeForce vraphics cards (with twin DVI outputs).
One machine is Win 7 Pro X64 and the other is Win 8 Pro X64. Both have the latest Nvidia drivers. Both are full retail legal versions of the OS.
My Problem : When I switch between machines I usually lose one screen and it cannot be reactivated without a reboot. Sometimes the other screen reverts to its default resolution. This happens on every switch over with Win 8 and sometimes with Win 7 but not always.
I have discoverd that if I switch the 2nd screen forst and then the main KVM (which has the keyboard and mouse) then usually the Win 7 machine continues to see both screens. The Win 8 machine virtually always loses the primary screen (the mouse and keyboard attached to this KVM are unaffected and switch correctly always)
I suspect this might be an nvidia problem but short og buying a new graphics card I have no way of determining this.

Dec 24, 2013I have a brand-new HDCP supporting monitor (native resolution 1920 x 1080,) on which I play the latest blu ray movies from the computers built-in blu ray drive, and a 9 year old flat screen non-HD plasma TV (on which I watch You Tube, BBC iPlayer and 4OD, streamed from the PC via a VGA cable,) both connected to my GT610 NVidia graphics card.
It seems I can only get them at the same resolution. My desktop does however have it's own on board graphics processor. Is it possible to run these two devices at different resolutions? (Since the ancient flat screen can only handle resolutions up to 1600 x 1200.)

Feb 5, 2014Not sure what is going on right now. My computer was fine this morning before I left for work. My wife said it was working fine this morning, and then she left it for a while and when it came back, she was getting blank screens.
When I took a look, it was blank. I did a hard shutdown and after the welcome screen, got a black screen of death. After several reboots, it finally got to the tile screen, but froze there.
So, right now, I'm operating out of safe mode where things seem more normal. Anyway, here are the logs.
Windows 8 - Multiple Screens Intermittently Undetect And Redetect
Feb 25, 2014I'm running 3 external monitors on a Lenovo docked laptop. With Windows 8 it was running perfectly. Since upgrading to from Windows 8 to 8.1, at the most inopportune times, randomly and frequently throughout the work day, everyday, all the monitors will cut out, making the disconnected sound. They will briefly, maybe half a second consolidate all the open windows on the laptop with an illuminated screen, then go black and then all the monitors will turn back on, consolidating all the open windows on the one external monitor set as my default main monitor. Then I will continue working, moving all my windows back to where I want them, and it will randomly do it again, usually when I'm concentrating on something important. It's like it knows!
The same thing has happened with an external projector, though not with all projectors.
I have updated Windows, and all the graphics drivers. And my business partner is having the exact same problem, so it's not isolated to my computer. Windows 8.

Windows 8.1 has a display feature where ALL objects can be scaled larger to deal with the fine resolution.
However, I have one program on the desktop that sometimes flips this off and "goes native".

Aug 9, 2013I am having a slight issue with what I am assuming is my video card. I have a Powercolor HD7870 Tahiti MYST Edition and on some screens I will get these random rectangles that show up. I have a few pictures to show what I am talking about.
It almost always happens when I am on Twitter and most other websites dont have this issue. It is more annoying than anything else, it doesn't seem to affect anything but I figured that I would post here and hope that it isn't a big issue.

Jan 21, 2014I have 5 screens, 3 screens connected to a display card, and 2 on motherboard.
When i was with windows 7, no problem at all for the past 2 years. Once upgraded to Windows 8.1, windows DOES recognise all 5 screens, however, it will revert back to a single screen and 800 x 600 resolution.
I will have to enable and reposition all screens again until the next restart.
8.1 Multiple Monitor - Open Any Folder Both Screens Will Flash Grey?
Aug 5, 2014I started using a second monitor recently, and ran into an issue when opening a folder. When I try to open any folder both screens will flash grey and then go back to normal, but the folder won't open. If I try again then the folder will open with no grey flash. If I switch back to just one screen, the same thing will happen, along with all of my icons being rearranged.

Mar 27, 2014This occurs especially during games, my native resolution is 1366x768 but whenever I choose a lower resolution than that in games, the size of the game on the screen becomes smaller than my laptop's display/screen (15.6"). Why does this happen? Is it a laptop issue only? My older laptop had the same problem.
PS: I have the latest graphics drivers.
Automate Login And Bypass Lock And Start Screens In Windows 8.1
Jan 28, 2014It's all very easy to do. From the Start screen type "run". Click on Run and type "netplwiz". OK that and highlight your account. Uncheck "Users must enter a username and password to use this computer". Click Apply. Then enter your password twice. Click OK. From the Start screen type "taskbar" and select Taskbar and Navigation. Click the Navigation tab and tick "Go to the desktop instead of Start when I sign in". You can also tick the "Show the Apps view automatically when I go to Start" if you're not that interested in the Modern UI Start screen.
Restart your PC and when Windows loads it will automatically log you in and take you straight to the desktop. Easy.
