View 2 Replies View RelatedEver since this new update with 8.1 I can't install any new apps... I first noticed when my Mail app stopped working and froze my computer. So I uninstalled the app and when I tried to install it back I get the screenshot below.. So I tried Yahoo Mail, some games, some other apps.. Nothing will work. Mail finally said it installed, but it's not on my computer and the app store says it's already installed. I have my own custom built computer, if you need the specs look under the specs drop-down, it's all there...
View 2 Replies View RelatedI am having a strange issue with my Windows 8.1 where every time I click on an app aside from store (games, project spark, Despicable Me etc) it comes up for 3-5 seconds before minimizing with the icons on the desktop. I am running Windows 8.1 64-bit Professional, an Nvidia Geforce GT545 with 3GB VRAM, 16GB DDR3 RAM, Intel Core I7 3.2GHZ quad core processor and Intel HD Integrated Audio.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI recently acquired an Office 2013 Professional download, and whenever and however I try to install it I get this strange error that I have never seen the likes of before (code 1920, Windows Font Cache Service failed to start).

I tried to install .net 3.5 or whatever but every time i try to install it it gives me the error code 0x800f0922.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have very annoying problem with Windows 8. The problem is in metro control panel "PC Settings". I don't know what is the reason for removing all apps control in the Notifications menu.
I had this problem so many times and the only fix for this that I know - is to create a new microsoft account or to do clean install (which I don't like to try).
I'm using Windows 8.1, trying to install .NET Framework 3.5 through the "Turn Windows features on or off" menu, and for some reason it won't connect to the update server, but only for this one feature, enabling and disabling everything else works just fine. It spits out error code 0x800F0906. When I go to the support site linked on the error message [URL], it gives me a few things to try. None of them work. When I try the one that apparently fixes the issue for most people, Method 3, the terminal spits out an error about the files not being there [URL]. This error also being covered on the same page as the first, I read through that, made sure everything was good to go, and even tried it with a completely separate Windows 8.1 ISO (what I was originally using was a base Windows 8 ISO), still nothing.
Now, I had this issue a few days ago, and it was stopping me from running a few programs. Having gone through everything I could find on the matter, I decided it was just some sort of file corruption and decided to do a fresh "nuke & pave" reinstall.
This screen appears on every boot followed by long error number that i could never got the time to read or even capture it. Some times this screen stays for very long time and cancel button just doesn't work.
View 1 Replies View RelatedIt seems like exactly something Vista would do. How to fix this so I can activate applications?
It was giving me this error at first with IE10, but now it's able to open.
I get the error for trying to launch those built in apps that I'll probably never use anyway.
The worst thing is I get the error if I try to open an image such as a png or jpeg.
there is no user interface in skype software except for the blue background. There is no Username and password field in the software.I am currently using the most recent skype update.

Not sure what else to do,I try restarting and using disk cleanup.
Whenever I try to sync my app licenses, I get the following error:
This is a fresh install.
Recently I have downloaded a few things that require the .NET framework 3.5. When I go to download/ install this, it moves realy fast, then stops and says: "Windows couldn't complete the requested changes" with the error code '0x800F081F'. I have been trying to do this for weeks now, and keep getting this error.
Some things to note:
I downloaded Windows 8 (Pro, 64)
My computer had a problem and I had to refresh it.
OK, so I made a backup DVD of some OS related programs for my computers onto a DVD, but when I attempted to MOUNT the image from the disk to Win 8.1's included virtual drive, I get an error that the Disc Image is not formatted for NTFS file system, and cannot be mounted.
I can copy the files from the disc to a location on the desktop and execute the files from there, but it's a royal pain in the neck to do this every time.
(Yes, I understand, I probably will need to build a new image and burn it to a new DVD, but I want to make it one that I can run the disc from my optical drive and it will work!).
USB is volatile storage, and can be erased. I prefer hardcopy backups for this reason.
I am trying to install GTasks application in windows 8, but after clicking install it says this app was not installed and gives this error code: 0x80073cf9
Here is a screenshot:
Is there any other way to install this application? It installed just fine on my tablet (google nexus 10), but somehow it doesnt seem to work on windows 8
Maybe there is a manual way of installing an app.
I've found that on my Windows 8 64-bit PC whenever I try to install a new version of iTunes it always gives me an error. The only way to upgrade to the latest version is to uninstall iTunes completely, reboot, then install the new version of iTunes. Could it be because I'm running the 64-bit version of Windows? It's kind of annoying completely uninstalling iTunes just to upgrade to the new version but it's not a huge issue.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI am unable to open any apps but the store and when I tried to uninstall and reinstall some apps I was met by an 0x80070002 error. It's not serious because I can use the apps on other users, but it would still be nice to have it fixed. I really don't feel like resetting my system.
View 8 Replies View RelatedSo recently the Windows Store has stopped working for me (Win 8.1 Pro). By not working, I mean that whenever I try to install an app, I get the following error message:
Your purchase couldn't be completed. Something happened and your purchase can't be completed.
Error code: 0x80240017.
Furthermore, apps are not updating automatically, and a manual check reveals no updates available. That being said, I know for a fact that my Facebook and OneNote apps are out of date, since they have both changed on my other computer. As a test, I uninstalled the OneNote app, and now I can't re-install it.
So far I've tried:
-The apps troubleshooter.
-The windows update troubleshooter.
-WSReset.exe
-SFC.exe (no violations found)
All my stock metro apps are not working anymore. I get a no internet connection error but on Desktop my internet works fine.

View 1 Replies View RelatedWhenever, I try double-clicking an Excel file in Windows Explorer, I get an error message that says "There was a problem sending the command to the program." I tried Microsoft's solution of unchecking the box under options that says "Ignore other applications that use Dynamic Data Exchange (DDE)" but it was already unchecked. I checked it and unchecked it and I'm still having the problem. This is using Excel 2013 with Windows 8.1 64-bit.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI can't install new apps or update existing ones.
Each time I attempt to install or update through the app store I receive error message 0x80072ee4 or 080073cff. I tried:
1. Performing a clean boot. (Disabling all non-microsoft services and startup items)
2. Using the SFC /SCANNOW option to verify the integrity of windows files.
3. Clearing C:/Users/Myusername/AppData/Local/Microsoft/Windows Store and C:/Users/Myusername/AppData/Local/Package to clean the cache files.
4. Clearing C:/Windows/SoftwareDistribution and restarting the Windows Update service.
5. Verifying that all windows services are running.
6. Disabling NIS 2013
7. Running troubleshooter
Nothing works. Don't tell me to run the windows restore function.
1. I don't consider that to be a genuine solution. (What if the same thing happens again?)
2. I don't plan on reinstalling all 50 non-windows app store applications.
