Today I did a fresh install of Windows 8 build 9200 and I'm really liking it. However, there's one small problem: a lot of software can't be installed due to the repeating occurrence of error codes 2503 and 2502.
2503: something about Runscript
2502: something about InstallFinalize
I read that this happens because of an incorrect system date and time, but they are in fact accurate on my machine.
I bought my new laptop from Hp this month with windows 8 inbuilt.
i used to download a lot from utorrent . But whenever i download a game torrent i am getting the BSOD errors .
From this forum , have identified everyone suggested to uninstall mcAfee antivirus to get the problem solved.
I tried to remove , but still the problem persists for me . What has to be removed further to make my computer work fine without any crashes.
BSOD Driver_irql_not_less_or_equal (netio.sys)
Attached my system config files and other stuff .
When uninstalling Intell AppUP from a fresh install of Windows 8, I was warned I won't be able to run any apps?
What apps won't I be able to run?
I'm running windows 8 x64 and when I open 'Programs and Features' to uninstall a program, the 'Uninstall' button that is usually next to the 'Organize' button is missing. Also when I try to right click on most programs and left click the 'Uninstall' option, I get the message "An error occurred while trying to uninstall X. It may have already been uninstalled. Would you like to remove X from the Programs and Features list?" However, those programs have not been uninstalled.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI found that f.lux is really useful to your eye when you look pc all day.
However, I found that the light setting doesn't gradually change according to time.
For example, at noon the setting is at the highest peak. So there is different light setting across the day time.
It would be good for night if there is automatic setting for light gradually set to the lowest at midnight.
When this happen, the word and picture look totally different and the nothing come out from the blue colour. I might as well go to sleep and continue work tomorrow.
Is there a way to set a few setting and when the time come, f.lux change the light setting? It may not be fully gradually change but at less there is different in the light setting than have it all same all day.
When I run setup I get this message:
"Something happened, We can't tell if your PC is ready to continue installing windows 8. Try restarting setup"
What can I do?
I've been trying to install the printer software for an HP Laserjet printer and can't get it installed. I've even had an HP tech person try to install it via remote control and he couldn't. I was told that something on my system is preventing the installation.
I ran sfc /scannow and it found corrupted files that it couldn't repair. I would be happy to send any log files that may be needed.
bypass this error code installing my win 8 software

View 1 Replies View RelatedI recently built a rig (spec below) and originally installed windows 7.
I decided today I would install windows 8.1 as I get it for free from my university. I booted the installation disc in EFI mode, wiped the SSD and deleted all partitions. I let windows create the partitions it needs and proceeded to install.
The installation got up to 2% in expanding windows files and showed error:
Windows cannot install required files. The file may be corrupt or missing. Make sure that all files required for installation are available and restart the installation. Error code: 0x800070570.
I rebooted and tried again several times and the same thing happened whether I chose EFI cd boot or not.
I then reinstalled windows 7 without any issues, and downloaded an 8.1 pro disc image from mydigitallife. The installation got a little further into expanding windows files, but the same error came up again.
Ive been reading that it may be a memory issue so i'm the process of reinstalling windows 7 and running memtest86+, but I doubt this is the case as its a mew system and windows 7 has no trouble

I have windows 8 installed from dvd and after a restart the pc won't boot anymore. It tells me:
Your pc needs to be repaired. The required boot configuration data file is missing some required information.
File bootbcd
Error code 0xc0000034
So I tried to rebuilt the bcd, used the bootrec commands , tried auto repair, tried system recovery but nothing seems to work.
My Windows 8 installation crashed this AM and the repair tools couldn't fix it. I ran the "Reset" option, which keeps my settings and data but reinstalls Windows 8. Well, things seemed to go OK, but none of my settings were kept (I had to reconfigure Outlook 2013, etc... and I'm getting this error now, which is preventing me from installing Acronis, Nero and VDownloader.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have downloaded Windows 8 Pro 64-bit through the students/partner site and burnt it on a DVD. When I boot from it though I get many types of errors....the most common is 0xc0000098 that says that my PC needs to be repaired and that one or more files are missing or contain errors...I have also tried burning 3 different dvds with different programs to make sure it's not a program's fault but still with no results..

During install, I get this about 10 seconds after the ugly fish appears during install.
I'll burn a DVD and try it but much prefer a flash drive for install.
Downloaded from Windows.com. Installed and upon final reboot got this error. "The OS couldn't be loaded because the kernal is missing or contains errors." Suggests doing a repair??? by inserting the Disk. Don't have disk, it was a download. What to do next? Is the main file on the HD that I could burn to DVD or??

View 2 Replies View RelatedI bought Dell inspiron with pre installed windows 8. My research says that it has product key on bios. It came with only one partation. I tried to shrink c and making new partations using epm. after boot I got this error. "A required device is not connected or can't be accesed." I have nither any recovery disk, nor installation disk nor dell disks. I tried to search on internet somewhere I found that this problem is due to currption of boot manager. My laptop has gpt partations scheme. I can probably repair my boot manager using How can I repair the Windows 8 EFI Bootloader? - Super User. But as I said I don't have any disks.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI installed a free utility Rebuild icon cache that I used extensively in Win 7. This utility needs .NET Framework 2. When I run the utility it appears a notice: parsing or parser error 0xC00CE556 with some bla bla .....machine.config. default. Hit OK, then the utility works as always. Looks like a false error warning.
Checking in the Forums I made the following attempts to correct this:
sfc/scannow (as ADM)unistall all .NET (3.5 that includes 2, and 4.5.) and re-install them through Windows Update.
Unsuccessfully.
The problem is really very minor, however is annoying I am not going to re-install whole Windows 8 to get rid of it.
While setting up a new system tried to install win 8.1 and got the IRQL screen.

1. Insert your Windows installation disc and restart
2. Choose your language setting and click next

What should I do from here?
I have tried to make the usb both manually and with rufus usb software. The system does not currently run on UEFI, but it supports it, and I have changed it in BIOS. Also I run Ubuntu in dual boot. I don't know if the GRUB interface does anything here, because the recovery will not start either, though I believe it did so last time I formatted the laptop

I'm lucky the computer even came back to life. I have an Intel HD Graphics 4000 video card, so the review from ADRStudio replied on February 15, 2014 on page 18
could address this problem but I'm not so sure. I can't find the Win 8.1 drivers at HP for my machine, they only offer Windows 7 or 8.
I've been reading Latest Win 8.1 ISO "Breaks" System Image Functionality
and on my dual boot laptop with Win 7, this may be a fatal error when trying to install Win 8.1 because 8.1 adds another System partition and kills off the one I had been using.
how widespread & long-going it is, I'm gonna stick to Win 8.0 for now.
My laptop is ASUS S46C, come with window 8 OEM 64bit. As a diligent updater, i gt 8.1 through the window store. A few days ago, i gt error code 0xc0000185 with the BSOD. I borrowed a window 8 dvd and somehow able to bypass the problem without reinstalling the window.
But now the system seems corrupted or lack of some system files as explorer and firefox always freeze. But when i tried to refresh/reset the BSOD appeared again with the error code 0xc0000185.
I have tried to created an iso file but both the normal product ID and the product key i found by Belarc Advisor does not work. I guess OEM key is no use after all. So can i know what are my options?
Each time I try the Windows 8 upgrade assistant I get the following error: "We can't connect right now...Check your Internet connection and try again". Apparently, a number of people are having this issue
Steps to try and solve:
-Disabled AV and Firewall both software and the router firewall.
-Checked to make sure date/time was correct.
-Went to a different location so the IP address would be different.
-Tried LAN connection.
Tried on 3 different machines, both 32 bit and 64 bit. My key is a 64 bit key. At each machine, the key passes the check. But, I always have the same error. After each failed attempt, I deleted the folder:
"C:UsersuserAppDataLocalMicrosoftWebSetupPanther" where the upgrade assistant stores info about previous attempts.

Just sharing in case people have been having the same problem following a Store update to 8.1.
After downloading and installing via the store, a restart shows a bluescreen displaying:
"Recovery
Your PC needs to be repaired
There isn't enough memory available to create a ramdisk device
Error Code: 0xc0000017
You'll need to use the recovery tools on your installation media... blah blah blah"
However, after getting that message, I was able to select F9 and it rebooted back into Windows 8 with a message stating:
We couldn't complete the update to Windows 8.1. We've restored your previous version of Windows to this PC
0xC1900101-0x20017
After a lot of digging, I decided that a system refresh was the way forward.
After I did this, I installed one update - KB2871389. This made the 8.1 update visible in the store
Applied the store update and it worked perfectly.
Having trouble installing PowerISO 6.0 64 bit. During installment i receive a error saying..
