it shows some weird streching lines from the icons.theres morenes in the right of my windows 7 dekstop and in my start menu, how can i fix it.i could see good with the lines but the lines are annoying
Whilst playing Skyrim "it automatically detected Ultra High Settings on my AMD Radeon HD 7850 graphics card, with updated drivers" white lines began flashing, then odd shapes started appearing on the screen. I tried it in low quality and still the same problem. Surely such a graphics card would be able to handle Skyrim. I have no mods on texture packs and have not touched the files
I restarted my computer due to running slowly, when it was starting back up, it prompted me to either "Run Startup Repair - recommended" or "Start Windows Normally." When opting the latter, the screen would go black, then go back to the same prompt. When selecting the startup repair, the screen goes to a blue screen with squiggly white lines with a hummingbird and a branch on it (wtf?!) and stays there for a long, long time.
I turned on my PC earlier on today and there was a white bars/lines on the screen throughout the bootup process. I'm unable to boot into windows as it hangs and goes into black screen after loading past the windows logo, however I'm able to boot into safe mode but still having the screen filled with white lines. I've tried system restore to no avail. I'm thinking its either the graphics card or the monitor.
my rig is working fine however I have noticed something strange that occurs whenever I boot my rig, when I got to the part where Windows 7 is loading instead of getting the windows logo on the screen and "starting windows" I get 8 blue lines along the top left of my screen. I was wondering if anybody else has ran into this problem or may have heard of it before[CODE]
i have had the exact same problem as OwlMan.. For the 1st day everything ran just fine... But on the 2nd day....
I was playing fifa 11 and had minimised it to check the time when this happened.. I don't know if this happened to owlman but the system does not seem to have the graphics drivers installed after the incident , and every time i try to install the drivers , at first everything goes fine but during reboot , at the time when you can see the cursor but the rest of the screen is black , the computer reboots again...
Also , during the countless reboots, i once mistakenly left the nvidia driver cd in the optical drive....when the boot screen passed the windows logo, the red lines reappeared and the system rebooted again .
This has happened mabe 2-3 times. Boot up computer, get the windows password field, put in pw, next screen is a cross-hatch (vertical and horizontal lines) of various colors. Cursor doesn't work, nothing works, manually shut the computer down. On rebooting, everything is OK??? Nothing appears to be wrong with my monitor (Samsung 193P), or any other functions of computer.
I've been using my PC fine for the last 3 years. A month or so ago I updated to Windows 7 Ultimate x64. That too has been running fine, then today, after about 3-4 hours of use, in the middle of a game, my PC screen suddenly got weird wavy lines and colours all over it and crashed. Long story short this has now happened about 10 times. Interestingly, I thought it was a graphics card problem, so I tried it on my HD TV (both TV and monitor connected via HDMI) and it did it on the TV too. I then uninstalled the nvidia (8800gt) drivers and restarted my PC. It works fine in safe mode, and in normal mode, but I can't change my resolution to 1680x1050, (it's native resolution) without installing the nvidia drivers.
I don't know if the problem is the drivers, (but never had an issue before?) or with resolution, (monitor problem?) Every time I do install the nvidia drivers the PC restarts normally, screen looks fine, and the PC seems to run, until I click on anything with the mouse and then the wavy lines and weird colours appear again and I can't CTL-ALT-DEL, I have to hard reset it every time. Once I left it for 5 mins. and moved the mouse a little every min. or so and that was OK, but as soon as I click on anything, it freezes and artifacts again. Also, my antivirus flashed red a few times and so did the windows clock in the bottom right corner of the screen, (very odd!) when the PC first starts windows.
That made me think it could be a virus, (even though I'm very careful about what I DL), but I had Avast run through a deep clean check and it found nothing. I also tried to get Win 7 to repair itself, which did nothing either! I've tried reinstalling the drivers, using newer and older nvidia drivers and I've tried to install my HG216 monitor driver, but since it's a few years old there is no official Win 7 support and all I have is an inf. file I can't install on Win 7. I haven't included a dump file, I know a fair amount about computers but I haven't worked out how to do that yet. Also, since I have to hard reboot everytime, in my event view the only errors listed seem to be about 'power failure', so I don't know if the bug or whatever would show up in the dump file?
suddenly the grey lines engulfed 2-3rd of the screen of my laptop.. I had replaced replaced window vista with window 7 .Now i dnt know how to cope up this problem.
I have a Acer Aspire 5542-1462 laptop, windows 7. One out of every 3 boot-ups the comp. freezes at the desktop with the screen shaking with long colored lines or short lines in a small area of the screen.
I'm attempting to upgrade from 32-bit Vista Home Premium to Windows 7. I used the 32-bit disk to avoid having to do a full clean install, but every time (4 tries so far) that I've done it, it will get to the last portion of the upgrade where it transfers over all the old documents and programs. At that point the screen turns into a weird pattern of diagonal lines. Sometimes they are white and blue lines 1 inch thick, other times they are really thin lines. The machine is fairly new and high-end for a Vista machine, so the graphics card should be perfectly. I've run the Upgrade Advisor and it only mentions a couple software issues such as iTunes which I can't see as prohibiting the upgrade.
When i'm using my windows 7 at anywhere it somedays starts freezing and sound starts slowing and giving Buzz sound. When i move mouse or press keyboard it freezes like 0.5 sec and after that it's again ''normal'' untill i move/press again.I have noticed that my HDD goes NUTS whit reading if i move mouse alot or press buttons alot. Could it be HDD failure or it's in my windows 7?This bug happens pure random somedays i play over 6h whitout it but sometimes it can happen after booting computer.
I have found at least one other person that had a similar problem, but the information you provided for that problem doesn't seem to fit my symptoms. That person was seeing the message "please wait while connection is being established", I am not getting any messages, just a flashing black to white screen that stays white.
When booting, my screen will flash white. If the boot is successful, which is less than 50% of the time,I then see the loading windows screen and the computer goes ahead and boots normally. But, more often than not, I never see the booting windows screen and the monitor will just flash from black to white, several times, and then stays white. I do get the windows music to indicate that the boot was successful, but I can only see a blank white screen, no icons or mouse cursor. If I press the power button a couple of times, the system will usually eventually give me a screen that looks like the system was paused and is waiting for a user to be selected and a password to be entered. Once I am able to access the system, it seems to work normally. I have waited as long as 15 minutes or so to see if the boot will complete once I get the white screen, but it never seems to go any further.
I have checked for a virus using my virus checker, Viper antivirus, and checked for malware using malware bytes, but can find nothing. I even started a boot log to see if I could see any indication in the log file, but I can see nothing.
I built a custom computer last week. Whenever I boot up my computer. There is a White Dash in the top right hand corner of the screen. When Windows starts booting there are 3 Dashes in a row in the top left to middle of the screen. Windows boots fine though. Just wondering what it means.
I got my Radeon 6570 today and I installed it, but now Windows won't boot it just gives me the blinking white dash. So I removed the card, switched back to onboard from BIOS and it still didn't work. I tried a lot of other stuff but it didn't work so I reinstalled Windows with the graphics card removed (Hoping it would reinstall the drivers for the onboard video) it didn't. So then I tried booting from an old Linux disc I found and it worked (how I am typing) but Windows still won't. I ran a diagnostics text and everything is working, and I can even access all my personal files on my old Windows install from Linux so I know that it's active.
I can no longer get the videos on MSN. The window for the video just turns white. I can hear the news but no video. The pictures without video works fine.
I have a family friend that emailed me about computer issues (we all know how that is), but this one is new to me and wanted to see if anyone had some suggestions before I made the 45 minute drive out to see them.
You will find the screenshot below. As you can see, they are getting lines across the screen but in a way that I have never seen before. Now, i am holding their words loosely, but they state that this only happens in the web browser. Looking at the screenshot I can see the line are contained within the browser window, as the IE tabs and window at the top of the screen are intact and normal.
I was able to fix the d3d problem I was having early it was the drivers of course.
However,I have encountered a new problem, and I am not able to know what the reason might me.
As you can see windows which are white will create a reflection/smudge sort of ghost image on the screen which is also affected in screenshots, so that would rule out the monitor being faulty. [URL] Now there's a couple of different new things.. My new GPU which is a sapphire HD7770 The way that my monitor connects to the GPU which is a VGA cable going into a VGA to DVD-I adapater. And the AMD drivers which is the version 12.11 -beta-
I turn on my computer to eventually get a black screen with white cursor that will move around. The Toshiba insignia comes up beforehand as well as the windows four square icon then it is to this black screen and white cursor. I cant seem to get the computer to boot up from Windows 7 installation disc. Sometimes I also get a BOOTMGR image is corrupt. The system cannot boot. message as well. I imagine there is a solution of sorts as it seems many people have had a similar problem. I have a freind who maybe able to fix it seeing he is a computer programmer but that is not until the end of the week.
When I open up in regular mode, as it is setting up I get hundreds of small lines across the monitor. They are thin lines like on notebook paper but very close together. Then within a few minn. the computer restarts. My operating system is windows vista. When I restart it in safe mode I don't get the lines and it works fine except for the programs that don't start up like sound and some of the programs I try to use. [code]
HP Laptop running windows 7 every now and again, (not very often) the screen will fill with zigzag lines. Theres nothing else on the screen, i have to reboot the laptop and then it starts up fine. laptop was running Vista and it happened then aswell. It can happen while playing vdeos or just surfing the net.
I have been using my emachines netbook 350 for a year now and running windows7 in it since I bought. A month ago, I've started seeing those blinking horizontal lines on my screen. Almost half of my screen is affected. I wonder if it is a problem with my video card or just some viruses. Well when I print screen, the lines are not showing. The same as when I connect my netbook to a projector
I've had this issue in Build 7100 X86 and X64 and 7600 X64. I've used both the Default Driver and the Driver directly from Intel. I have an Intel Mobile 4 Express graphics card.
