i have a 1315 hp printer. i downloaded the hp printing software from hp website for windows7 64 bit. during installation after the i agree page, the installation box suddenly vanishes. i tried disabling anti-virus but no go.

View 1 Replies View RelatedHave a wireless Lexmark printer for three computers, (His, Hers, Laptop). All were working great. I set up (tried) Homegroup. Piece of cake for Hers and Laptop. His gets "This computer cannot connect to a Homegroup" message - another problem. Hers tried to do 2-sided printing, used to work great but could not now. I noticed that the printer on Hers was now named Laptop. We only use the Laptop for traveling. So I removed Laptop printer on Hers and tried to add the printer. Now I cannot add the printer, it tries, gets to the "installing printer popup and hangs forever with no CPU usage. I cannot cancel. The only way to go on is to restart. Have tried the following all without success. Deleted the printer and the printer drivers. Installed the drivers from DVD. Tried to add printer. Hangs as described above. Plus tried everything else I could think of, removing printer, adding printer, etc.

View 2 Replies View RelatedMy Mom has an HP laptop. She recently purchased a new HP printer and I have been trying for the last 4 days to get it to install/connect. I've been in touch with HP but the links they provide aren't resolving the issues. First, using the CD that came with the printer: hangs up at around 85-90%. It doesn't not show up as installed. I copied the CD to the desktop, modified Setup.exe in CFFExplorer and Run as Administrator and it appears to completely install; however, when I go to Device Manager, it says no driver is found.
I sometimes have the option to update and sometimes that seems to work but I can't access it through Add a Printer (which has the green bar run across the top, then pulsate and freeze). Trying to install using the driver I download from HP results in no installing screen appearing but it does hang up in the background and the only way to stop it is to Restart. The same thing happens if I try to use HPs Wizard. I've installed several HP printers through the years and not had this much trouble. That doesn't even include the dozens of times I've had to reinstall my own HP printer because of its contrariness!
Additionally, attempts to uninstall the old printer results in it hanging up/freezing soon in to the process, whether I try to uninstall from the Start menu, file or Uninstall program. I'm not even being able to get the Windows Updates to install - that process also just hangs up/freezes. I've not checked her machine in a while so there are many updates; however, when I just choose 1 at a time, it still sits at 0% and never moves. The printer, when connected, is with the USB and I've tried all 4 USB ports on this just in case. Am still in touch with HP but they are sending me the usual links so I'm hoping perhaps someone here can think of something a little less ordinary!

I have followed the threads provided in this forum but am unable to print to the 1200. The printer is connected via a USB port. The printer/USB port is recognized as USB printing support. I have previously loaded the HP laserjet 1200 PCL5 driver and have now tried loading the HP Universal Printing PCL6 driver. In both situations the printer driver is seen under the printers/fax (in the Devices/Printers page) as either the Laserjet 1200 PCL5 or the HP PCL6.

Intel Core 2 Duo 3.12 Ghz
nVidia GeForce 9800 GTX 512 MB PCI-e
320 GB Western Digital HD SATA
1 Gb DDR2 1066 MHz and 2x2Gb DDR2 1066 MHz SDRAM
I set my boot sequence to boot from DVD-ROM drive first, and HD second. It goes to the "Windows is loading files" screen and gets hung up. I started the process and went to watch TV for an hour, and it is still on the "Windows is loading files" screen. I haven't gotten any error messages. I've unplugged all USB devices from my computer as I have seen on this forum that it has worked for some people.
edited to add: I originally had only 2 Gb of RAM, and it got hung up at the "Windows is loading files" screen. I thought it was getting hung up because I didn't have enough RAM, so I bought brand new 2 sticks of 2 Gb RAM. I took out one of the 1 Gb sticks and placed both of the 2 Gb of RAM...for a total of 5 Gigs. And, it is still doing the same thing.
I've just taken delivery of a new windows 7 PC, with i5-2500k/8gb/SSD/1TB HDD, Asus p8z68-v lx motherboard. Everything was going fine with setting up until it came to printers.I have 3 printers connected - Brother HL2030 laser, HP Photosmart D6160 and Epson Stylus photo R2400 - and NONE of them will work. All three came up with "your device is installed correctly etc etc" message. I can't print documents or even a test page. I've downloaded and installed Brother's W7 driver - zilch. HP site says you lose most of the functionality of toollbox etc but "the windows 7 default driver should work" - it doesn't. Likewise the Epson. View 1 Replies View RelatedPrinting's been working fine up until about a week ago. Suddenly I'm unable to print out of chrome. Whenever I try to print I get an error that says "Printer not Installed" in the browser. I disable the "print preview" chrome has recently implemented but that doesn't work. I reinstall Chrome to no avail. I try to print in Firefox and get a different error... "An Error Occurred while Printing." I do some research and then realize I can't print out of Acrobat Pro. My print settings dialog in Acrobat is unlike any I've ever seen and no options work. I can't change the paper size or access the printer settings from the Acrobat Print Dialog.
Steps I've taken so far:
Reinstalled the printer
Restarted Print Spooler
Deleted the Port
Reinstalled Printer again with new drivers
Successfully Printed Test Pages after each of these steps. Still could not print out of other programs.
Successfully Printed out of MS Word
I logged in under a different user and was able to print out of firefox.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have previously installed Windows 7 and recieved the same error and tried it again and it worked, but the installation seemed unstable and I recieved many Blue Screen Errors. In an attempt to correct this I tried to reinstall Windows 7. In doing so I have wiped my hard drive for a fresh install.I placed the Windows 7 Installation DVD in and proceeded with the install. When I got to the 'expanding files 20+%' the installation stops and I recieve an error stating:"Windows cannot install required files. The file may be corrupt or missing. Make sure all files required for installation are available, and restart the installation. Error code: 0x80070570"In an attempt to correct this I have transferred the files to a USB external hard drive and have got to the same point in the installation and recieved the same error message. My next step is to download an ISO off the internet and using this as my DVD might contain a corrupt file.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI had previously been running Vista 32, however after reading up a bit (obviously not as much as I should have) I decided to upgrade my old machine with 4 gb of DDR2 (up from 2gb) and Win 7 64 bit. As can be seen in my system specs, my processor is a Pentium D 3.2 (840 i believe), and going on a thread a I read stating that a dual core can handle 64 bit I got that version. Install has been a nightmare, first it would give me an error that (according to forums) is a result of bad memory, tried everything with that (swapping out to my old memory that was fine, going from 4 to 2 gb... no dice) Next I took the drives out, and installed win 7 on them using a different machine (I have a much newer/nicer build as well, this is a second machine). Install went fine, so i moved the drives back to the other machine and I'm getting a BSOD on start up (and its a quick BSOD, cant even read it, flashes a second then reboots)... every time. I am a mouse click from ordering the 32 bit version but dont want to drop another $100 only to find out that maybe thats not my problem. Given that the machine was running fine with vista on it (even with the new memory) I am inclined to think this is not faulty hardware, just maybe incompatible software (the 64 bit version that is).

when i put the CD in and boot from CD everything goes well it loads his files and i can select the language settings, than i click to install and i need to choose between upgrade and clean install, if i choose clean install the click to install window appears again, i can do this all day cause it keeps looping the same process.

When I restarted, It ask for a Start Repair, so I do, but It was unable to Repair... I mean, it was actually unable to enter to the repair options neither from the Repair CD... just freezes at the Win background image and no options shown... I wasn't sure what to do because I wasn't even able to format from the CD, I tried Live Cd's, but was the same problem, Win just didn't charge, so I download Ubuntu and decided to installed it over Windows after backing up all my files... then I run the Win Recover CD and reinstall Win 7... It was ok until yesterday, when the exact same problem began! The computer freezes, I force the shot down again (after nearly 5 hours, because I was afraid the same problem to happen and didn't want to format again and reinstall all my programs)... finally I've got the same exact problem, so I back up my new files and very unhappy try the past solution, only this time I wasn't able to Reinstall Win 7, even I format all partitions... I have being trying like 100 times and it always the same: the laptop freezes during installation (while compleating installation) and it's unable to do anything else, but reinstall Ubuntu.
