View 9 RepliesLast night I was on my computer and then I shut it down. Today when I came home from work it keeps saying windows failed to start. I tried hitting f8 and loading to the last good configuration doesn't work, safe mode same thing, repairing nothing, so my last resort was my windows 7 cd. So I went into bios and made my configuration boot from cd/dvd popped it in and restarted, a black screen came up saying windows is loading files, then the windows 7 menu came up, picked my language, next, and first I tried repair my computer, I get the little circle meaning its loading for like 5 seconds them it does nothing, rebooted again but this time I chose, install and I've been on the setup is starting for like 20 min. And forgot to mention, when it boots seem like it does good then comes to the screen where it says windows failed and gives me two options repair our start normal, if I pick repair it just reboots and start normal takes me to like the pick your user screen but its just blank no users, so I can't even restore our access the computer.

Shut down last night...and this morning windows will not come on in normal or safe mode. When try to start in safe mode it says STOP: c0000135 program cannot start %hs is missing. On another post with similar code it had a link to put on usb drive and to put in infected laptop and restart with f8. When I did that it said no bootable partition in table. When usb is not in it just goes back to stop message. I have a dell inspiron core i3 (I don't know if that matters). I have tried running restore to previous time and it did not work. when i click on repair it goes to the launch window or start in safe mode option?

I have recently noticed the last couple of weeks that my computer is running slower than normal. In the last week. I noticed my anti-virus software from Norton is no longer working. When I tried to delete the file to re-download it the program would not delete from my computer. I tried to just update it from the internet the "Run; Save;Cancel menu appeared and when I clicked run nothing happened. I tried this function in safe mode with the same result.
Now my problem is affecting other programs like Microsoft and the shortcuts on my desktop. I have tried downloading the AVG anti virus I ran into the same problem. I am lost for options since it is not letting me run any programs on my computer. I can download programs just fine but thats it. I can use the internet just fine but I try to stay away from that since it leaves me open for more viruses. I need to know of other options that I can try.

whats a little bit mysterious is the fact that last time i used that Vista-partition it worked normally. i then copied all files to a new partition on another harddisk and i have since then used that partion instead.

I have no idea how or why this happened. I tried searching for the problem, but I can't find a single thing even remotely related. My recent items count is at 0, so it's nothing to do with that. I have an Acer w/ 8gb of ram(Newly installed was 4gb) w/ a 1TB HDD. On idle it range's from about 16-20%(1200-1600mb) I've had a few windows open w/ music video's plying etc. and it's never gone past 28% that's why I think at idle its high.
Is this normal. I opened up task manager under memory and closed some thing's I didn't need but it still seems pretty high.

View 12 Replies View RelatedI have a Sony Vaio with Windows 7 installed on it. Recently, my computer was attacked by a virus. As soon as I noticed, I turned off the computer manually, and booted back up in safe mode. I ran Avast, Ad-Aware and Malwarebytes Anti-Malware. All 3 found a couple of threats, which I deleted. I tried restarting my computer, and then running these 3 again in safe mode (with network). I did it as long as threats were found. Once the computer felt safe, I tried booting in normal mode.
Here's the problem : I get to the "Welcome" page, and then everything goes black but my cursor. What's strange about the problem : For some reason, I did succeed to get it to open normally 2 or 3 times, but every single time it would be crazy laggy. Internet Explorer wouldn't work either. It freezes as soon as I try to access anything. And now it's back to a black screen after the "Welcome" page when I try booting in normal mode. Only my cursor appears (I can move the cursor). Safe Mode works just fine too, only Normal mode has a problem.
Combo fix was run a couple times. It said not sure where download came from (was trying to get rid of security tool virus that was redirecting websites occasionally). But said It didn't remember any messages coming up, restarted. Everything was fine, installed malware bytes constant protection. Later that night I installed free avg 2012 and ran scans everything good. Computer ran great. Shut down at night. In morning windows would not load in regular or safe mode. When try to repair it goes to launch windows repair or start windows normally screen. When hit launch repair it goes back to that screen. If you start in safe mode it says that it is loading windows files then blue screen appears with "Stop: c0000135 program can not load %hs is missing."

Well the time has come and passed. I have a small problem where i need to reinstall windows 7 but i cant find my windows vista disc or Serial Key. Now i found a site that explained how to make it so i can just install the upgrade and fool it into thinking that its a normal copy.

I boot into XP on D fine. I can also boot into Win7 on C fine, but here is the catch. The computer wants to go into a chkdsk if I boot into win7. If I let the computer do this it goes through a very long process and when it comes out of that process it reboots and goes through its normal procedure.
But then when it gets to the very last step, the step where it shows the wallpaper, icons and taskbar, all I get is blank screen.
If I boot into safe mode I can see everything. If I boot into safemode with networking I can see everything. As a matter of fact that is how I am typing this message now.
What do I need to do to get my computer to boot correctly?

I am using Windows 7 Pro on a Dell Inspiron 1520. Today, when I attempted to start the unit, I heard a rapid beeping that was uncontrollable until I clicked the Control Key. There are no error messages. I have done 2 cold boots and a memory diagnostic (which found no errors) with no positive results. It begins right when the screen indicates it is Starting Windows. Once I get past that, it seems to operate normally, but I am concerned there is a root problem that will surface with disastrous results at a later time.
