Since Latest Windows Update No Beta Games Will Load?

i have been playing Open Beta-free-to-play, browser-based games with no problems until the other night i turned off the computer and it down loaded windows updates .Now no beta games will load and run on my laptop they just freeze the browser and all tabs open i have to shut them down using the small box at the bottom.it must be something to do with the downloads as i have another computer that they will load on but this is too old and slow to run them on.

I updated to the latest Windows 7 service pack this morning, upon restarting I can log in however nothing loads up. My screen is black, I am able to move the cursor. When pressing CTRL + ALT + DELETE a error message comes up stating:
"Failure to display security and shut down options. The logon process was unable to display security and logon options when CTRL+ALT+DELETE was pressed. If the operating system does not respond, press ESC or restart the computer by using the power switch."
I am able to boot in to safe mode, I have attempted a system restore to the time before updating this morning. However this stays at initializing for at the moment around 3 hours. I have no idea now what to do, I purchased this laptop in November 2011 which came preloaded with Windows 7 Home Premium Edition 64 bit.

All USB ports on my computer turn off upon the launching of Windaows 7. I have functionality in the DOS mode, however. My KB and mouse are USB, so when windows launches I lose my interface to teh computer.

After turning on my computer today, I noticed that the "shut down" icon in start menu had the familiar triangle referring to updates. I closed things down and selected it to "Shutdown and install updates". I keep my Windows as up to date as i can, so this was a recent update.
The problem is that upon starting the computer, I could get to the log in screen with both the Administrator and user accounts visible, but when attempting to select either one to log in, the screen flickers black once for a half-second, then kicks me back to the user select screen. How can i undo this last update without logging in? I tried inserting the windows disk to use the system restore feature, but it claims that "No restore points have been created on your computer's system drive" yet as far as I've seen, each update has been initiated with a "creating system restore point" loading bar, so how can this be? I've attempted logging in in safe mode as well. The same black screen, it just took longer before I got kicked back.
Or additional information I can provide?
Edit - If possible, does anyone know of a program or command that can bypass the log in screen and immediately log in? Maybe if I could do that and get into the system itself, I could undo the upgrade on my user account.

I don't know what the latest update was but it updated when I was shutting down my laptop (Compaq CQ60). I am running Windows 7 Ultimate x86 and have never had any problems. I plugged in my USB mouse from my PC and the laptop accepted it and let me use the mouse, but I was still unable to use my keyboard/touchpad. I tried booting in safemode but my keyboard doesnt work so I cant scroll to it. I also noticed that my laptop did a Checkdisk or something along that lines, I believe thats what its called.

After I updated my Internet Explorer 9 Beta, the items in my Start menu are no longer expandable and I cannot click on them. I am not refering to the All Programs, but the items in the blue bar such as Documents, Favorites, Recent Items etc. Clicking on the main item (ex: Favorites) will list my favorites and folders, but I cannot click on any of them or expand the items inside. Oddly enough, I can expand and click on Favorites from within IE9.
A shutdown, restart, disk check have all failed to fix the problem. As I stated, this started immediately after I did the latest update to my IE9 Beta dated 15 Feb 2011.

2 days ago I uninstalled Microsoft Security Essentials from my pc. Yesterday I update my Firefox from v. 14.0.1 to v.15.0, since then firefox won't run on this pc. After installing Firefox 4 beta, IE9 Beta and deleting quarantined items from Malware Bytes. After system restarts it keeps going to the Configuring windows screen do not turn off your computer. It goes for a few minutes then reboots. It has done this numerous times...

I have nevosoft games that worked when i installed them last year. did not play for a while and now will only give loading errors, tried changing compatibility to xp, vista etc to no avail. win 7 troubleshooting was to switch comapitlilty and then 2nd was user verify solution - veryify_no??? Publisher details and other notes were package version 1 and 1.5 not sure what that is. i noticed my computer needed a restart after downloading a windows 7 update. I restarted it and now its in a continuous bsod to startup repair. everytime i get this:

I am running windows 7 home edition. A couple months ago I got the bad image date virus that disable my google chrome and my epson workforce printer, I had found it disable my print spooler, I got rid the the virus, but it did more damage, I uninstalled the printer drivers and went through the windows services and set them all to automatic, but I cannot reinstall the driver.
Then I saw my graphics and sound drivers are out dated but I cannot update them either, it just times out when I try to update them. I noticed when I try to update other programs, they hang up on the system restore point, so I tried to create a new one. I get the shadow volume cannot be created message, I set the shadow volume services to automatic, and went through all the dependency's but I still can't create a restore point, I am guessing the problems are related

I purchased a system with dual GTX580's about a year and a half ago. I have had issues with system crashes (lockups, no blue screen, and no alt-tabbing out of them) almost from the beginning. Since I am impressed with some of the technical responses I have seen on threads in this forum, thought I'd reach out for help before I pull what hair I have left out.....
I tried literally every different bios update available, every single driver release Nvidia has released, too many clean windows installs to count, MSI Afterburner/EVGA Precision (video voltage increases, clock decreases (removing EVGA superclocking), replaced the SLI bridge, different ram, different powersupply cables, different fan speeds, and so many other things over the past 1.5 years it's rediculous.
In preparation for trashing the cards, I pulled them out and put my old cards back in. These are also EVGA brand, 8800's, also can run them in SLI with the same bridge, and not a single problem. This is while running the same driver release (clean install though) as the 580's.
So I put one 580 back in, both slots 1 & 3, and to my surprise it worked just fine in either PCI slot. Tried the other 580, also works fine when alone. Put them both in, put the bridge on, and it crashes right after Bios loads, before it even makes it to the windows logo/login screen.
Seems to have gotten worse over time (was just during intense gaming, next it's when in windows but not gaiming, sometimes at the Windows loading Logo, and sometimes even at bios load.)
Overheating? Temps are fine..even when stress testing with Kombuster/Furmark/Prime95/MEMTest/etc. temps get warm, up to 85 on CPU cores, and 75 on video card, but all tests are fine.

After installing W7 SP1 x64 through automatic updates, none of my games (CS: GO in Steam, Heroes of Newerth) will load. The first time I encountered this problem, I decided to format my SSD but the same issue again after installing SP1. Thinking it might be a video driver issue I've tried installing an older driver but the same thing happens. I decided to uninstall SP1 and all my games are working again.
I never had this issue when running on a HDD. I just installed a new SSD a couple of days ago, doing a clean install of OS.

Ran Windows Update on wife's computer today (Biostar A75-MH mobo, AMD A8-3850, 8Gb DDR3-1600, 64Gb Samsung 830 SSD boot drive, Win7 x64) and upon restart it froze at 35% installing the updates. After it did nothing for 30 min I rebooted. It boots to the desktop but with an error box saying failed to load sortbls.nlp. Explorer isn't working, can run any programs, Start menu won't come up, just sits with the blue circle spinning. Tried to run system restore but the 11-15 one disappeared from the list when I tried to run it and now just shows the only restore point as Windows Update Critical Update from today which fails. Startup Repair says no problems.

I just ran into a problem with my computer. My computer is running windows 7 64bit.
I got a new graphics card in today and put in my computer to crossfire. After I booted my computer back up it loaded fine, albeit slow, but crashed while installing new drivers for the card. Since then I haven't been able to get back on to that SSD(boot drive).
I can't access the advanced boot options to roll back the drivers that were installed as soon as the SSD was booted up.
looking in my bios for a shortcut, pressing f8 twice per second, holding f8 down, pressing f8 as soon as the bios screen goes away in between the system attempting to load. I just can't get to the advanced boot menu!

I have had itunes with an Wiondows XP 32 bit pc for many years. I now have a new pc with Window 7 64bit, i7-2600, 16 G RAM, and 1T of memory. My problem is I can not load itunes 10.6.3 into the pc. When I try, the program says it was interupted and the change did not take place. It then asks me to press finish or cancel. When I press finish, the program says thank you and gives me the4 option to store the program in G. I no longer have a G as that has been replaced by H. There is no opportunity to change the save location to H. and simply says to load the external disk, which does not exist.When I try to uninstal the itunes programs by strting with itunes first, the pc says that ituneshelper. Resources is not a valid short name.

I don't see much written on this, so it would seem I am one of the few unlucky people that can not get this critical update for EI9 to load. Have tried all the suggestions Microsoft suggests and even had it to a tech to look at, no simple solution seems to be available.

Win 7 desktop, that is clear for a person that knows very little about Win 7 and can not make frequent visits to the PC. I am laid up in bed with a fractured ankle, post surgery where a plate and screws were installed.I have this laptop, crutches, and wheel chair.Last night, my wife shut down the PCShe noticed it was installing an update. I started the PC this morning and all was normal until the screen flashed "Loading Microsoft Operating System" or something to that effectImmediately after that flashed (for less than a second), the system powers off.A few seconds later, the power comes back on, the fans start, the BIOS screen appears, all like normal, and then shut down again. This will continue forever it appears, given I watched it repeat 4 times.

I've been playing PC games on my new laptop for a few months now, all of which can run on Direct X 11. Two games, Saints Row the Third and Civilizations V I run using Direct X 9 mode, which helps me keep my laptop temperature down.Recently, however, I have bought and downloaded a few games via Steam that are older, that only use Direct X 9.0c. When I run any of these games for the first time, Steam will start "installing Direct X...". After that, all of my games run with very noticeable lag. I will lose FPS (going from 70+ to about 20-) every 20 seconds or so. If I perform a system restore to the moment before Steam installed the Direct X, everything starts running fine again.This has rendered half of my games on Steam unplayable because they all need to install Direct X before playing. quite recently, i noticed that there were little black box flickering in my games. gpu is an ati 4870 hd 512 mb. i did not overclock this gpu. first, it came when i got myself shogun 2 total war, and then in all my other games that i played after that. it flickers on for a split second and off and keeps coming back. i did notice though that when i alt-tabbed for a few seconds, and then came back, it took a little while before they came back.also, this has nothing to do with heating because the max temp that my gpu will ever hit is 50c and on idle it's 38c with a accelero heatsink.i thought this had something to do with the latest 11.6 update i installed, so i uninstalled and driver-sweeped my ati driver and installed 11.5, but no luck!
along with that, i noticed that on Internet, when i went into full screen mode, the screen would be black but playing but then flash on and continue the video from where it flashed on. also, when i got out of the Internet full screen, the video would be playing but the image on the video would be what i saw before i went into full screen for a few seconds.i tried reinstalling flash in chrome, but to no avail.
