Remedy For 'volatile' Insertion Point With Text Writing?
Oct 12, 2011
Has anyone encountered a text-writing issue where one is engrossed in what is being typed without realizing that the insertion point has jumped from sequence--i.e., the latter part of a word currently being typed has located itself after a term on a prior line (the issue always entails a 'jump' back to prior written text)?
I've observed it occurring--the insertion point just reverts/jumps to a prior line--and not always at the beginning of a line, either.
Q: is it feasible that the keyboard has a (for lack of a better term) 'sensitivity' control, to make the keyboard less hyper?

My computer has been overheating and shutting down for a couple months now. The fan is running and I have recently blew out the vents not dusty at all. On or about this same time or after all this occurred whenever I try to type whether it be in this message box, email, internet address bar or MS Word the insertion point will temporarily disappear preventing me from typing until the insertion point returns anywhere from 3 seconds to 10 seconds or so. Sometimes I need to left click to return the pointer faster. I am not using a separate mouse. It took 5 mins. to type this paragraph and it is frustrating. Also I have tried in the mouse changes control panel to check or uncheck the pointer insertion point box but it doesn't make any difference one way or the other.
I was fooling around and added a language to my keyboard. Now when I type in search bars, and even as I input text now, The cursor (blinking line) looks like it has a little triangle on the top right of it. I know this must be easy to fix, and I have since removed the second language, but that did not make a difference.
Again, all I have done is added and removed a second language and now the problem persists.!
I have win7 ultimate and it will flicker occasionally when removing and inserting USB devices especially flash/thumb drives.I reinstalled latest driver for video card nvidia 260.99.Also i originally used driver from Nvidias site and then reinstalled with international driver from XFX site. Both are WHQL certified. This happens when OCd and stock.
Ok this is wierd I have a client using Office 2007 pro and some of her docs that she recently updated and the problem is when she prints the docs text that she deleted is printing over the top of new text she inserted into the doc.
Now when you have said doc open in WORD the deleted text is not there in any view and does NOT show in "print preview".
I opened said doc with WORDPAD and the deleted text shows up at the bottom so its still in the word doc somewhere imbedded so it prints over the top of the actual text in the doc.
I have a project where I need to search a large amount of text files on my home PC. I recently upgraded from Windows XP to Windows 7. My research indicated this feature was available in Windows 7.
If you do a search in Windows XP, you get a bunch of fields. You can pick to search for text INSIDE the particular sub folder structure.
I have found this feature in Windows 7, but it is different. I have tried using wild cards but it does not seem to work properly.
All of the sudden, when I want to copy and paste something in the same document, the formatted text (whether that be a certain font or bold) does not transfer over to the pasted text. For instance, if I wanted to copy the following bolded word word and then paste it anywhere else in the document, I now get this: word (without the bold). This applies to other cutting and pasting problems: this applies to other fonts and formatting (bold, my Greek font, etc). One more example: before today, if I wanted to cut a text out of my New Testament Greek program right in the middle of a paragraph, the Greek font (or whatever font) would paste normally no matter what font the target MS Word text was in.
I was wondering, exactly when will windows 7 begin writing to the hard disk, instead of the RAM?Is it when all of the RAM is "In Use" or could it happen even if only some is "in Use" and the rest of the RAM is on "Standby", as according to the resource monitor?
my DVD writer suddenly stopped reading and writing DVDs and CDs, however there is power to the dvd drive, all the connections are working and i can eject the drive using windows explorer. Any advice an what to do.I all ready used Microsofts Fixit application but it said that the problem could not be fixed.

Same things happens in safe mode. Also when Im in the network and sharing centre and click on the wirless connection the window flashes up but then immediately disappears.Anyone got any ideas to fix it?Ive included a picture to illustrate if what i said doesnt make senseThis only happens in the network connections window - all other right click context menus are fine
Whenever I try some downloaded .exes I get an error saying 'error writing to temp location' or something similar. I've tried running them as admin, tried running them without UAC, and even tried to change the temp location from environment variables but it doesn't change. Is there any fix or an installer file I can download and reinstall to fix the microsoft installers? (win7 x64)
I'm trying to transfer files from an older laptop that should go into App Data\Roaming, but I get a popup that I can't write there. I've changed the file attribution to uncheck Read Only for the file and its subsequent files and folders, but still canot write to, or even get to, the Roaming part of the tree.
My new Lenovo T520 is behaving weirdly. It just randomly started happening on the evening of the 14th, and has continued since. My computer turns on, and everything loads, but then it just siezes up. I was able to open Task Manager, it shows my CPU Usage at 0%, and my memory usage at about 40% with 70 processes running. Opening up Resource monitor, under disk, i shows my disk is constantly reading and writing. At first there was an SVCHost that was constantly reading - Superfetch, so I disabled this. I saw improved performance for one day. I did a system restore back to 3 days ago, and saw performance improvement once again for 1 day. I removed everything from startup, and turned off as many services as I could. Under device manager, in the driver section, I found an error with the Security something driver (I cannot remember exactly, and my computer will not let me browse anywhere) so I uninstalled this driver. (I was going to update it in safemode, but it will not let me) In the system event log, ever since the 15th, I am seeing lots of events, these events were for Computer Browser services not starting - services which I did not disable. (Maybe I did, but I set all services I turned off to Manual not Disabled, so it should have started when it was called).

I am trying to move my thumbnails cache from my SSD to a ramdrive, to stop excessive writes and also speed up the cache.I am using Dataram Ramdisk, and have moved FF cache, IE cache and temp files, and user TEMP and TMP files (but not system TEMP and TMP, which I moved to a HDD) so far.Moving the thumbnails cache is a bit more tricky, but should be doable using junction.
Lately I've been getting Japanese kana (I think) substituted for english characters in some song titles in Windows Media Player, Nero, and PowerToGo CD ripping software. It seems the computer thinks I want Japanese, where available, for the extended info it gets for music CD's. So if I put in a CD to rip, say, Mozart's Magic Flute opera, the London Records Solti/Vienna Phil version, WMP will show track info in kana characters, like this:, or somethine kanji, like this:I can't seem to figure out why it's doing this. Also, lately WMP library has begun substituting other cover art for various albums, so one particular album cover photo appears on lots of unrelated albums. Don't know if that's related, but WMP seems to be a POS
I have a DJ mixer that houses a very nice firewire audio card. Unfortunately the company refuses to release x64 drivers for it, and it doesn't look like that's going to happen either as they've just discontinued the unit.I'm a software engineer by trade, and I know with enough effort I can craft my own. Trouble is, it's a whole new field for me to explore and I don't really know where to start. I've read through the Windows Driver Development Kit here: About the Windows Driver Kit (WDK)and also read up how windows USB drivers were hacked for the Xbox Kinnect: Hacking the Kinect - How to hack USB device drivers both have given me some great ideas, but I don't want waste time barking up the wrong tree, so to speak.
I'm trying to run a DOS program (Locoscript 2.51) in XP mode on a Windows 7 Ultimate virtual PC. This doesn't run - with a message 'error writing file(xxxx) path not found'.Program works perfectly in native XP (on a different machine) and the file is in the same place on both.

When I write emails in Outlook 2007 and write a link it looks like it is not active but when I read the email after sending, I can see that the link is active since it is underlined www.example.link but when I write it it is not underlined [URL]
Why is that and how can I change it so it looks active when writing it? Some of the people receiving my emails says the links are not active so they have to copy/paste the links into their browser.??
I dont know what happened to me suddenly my antivirus AVG 2012 detect an intruder on the web browser and remove the browser morzila and after that I have no restore point but i dont know what happens and I feel that my PC has something strange how I can solve this problem?
Recently whenever I've used an .exe installer I'll get an error as soon as I click start after choosing the directory, in the picture example I include below, it's of SA-MP, but it happens with any installer I try and use. Installers have worked previously, it's only recently it's stopped working. The error is;Error opening files for writing?
What I've tried;
-Full system scan with Comodo AV.
-Revealed hidden files and folders.
-Run the installer in both compatability (Even though it does work on Windows 7, and as an Administrator).
-Also done the scan on CMD (can't remember exact command).
