i'm recently having some bsods while attempting to download some files on my second hard drive, primary i have an corsair gt 128mg ssd and secondary is a samsung hd103sj 1Tb. I'm currently running windows 7 x64, my specs are i5 2500k, 12gb kingston 3X4gb 1600mh cl9, gainward gtx 680 phantom, motherboard gigabyte z68p-ds3 rev 1.0, psu enermax pro87+, and case zalman z11plus. I'll attach the minidump too.

I have few questions on Windows 7 Upgrade. Currently I'm using windows vista home premium 64 bit and I bought an windows 7 home premium 64 bit upgrade disk.
first thing is I want to format my previous operating system and all the data in my laptop and install windows 7 in it using the Upgrade disk.
second thing is I don't have my vista installation disk with, my laptop was pre-installed with vista so in future if I want to switch can I get back VISTA using system restore.
third is can i install windows 7 on a new hard disk using a windows 7 Upgrade disk?
I don't know what is my problem because is not the first time that usb external hard drive is working fine until get damage and said " it need to be formatted " and lost all the INFO because I have to format again the disk to be usefull. Also it is not the same hard disk.

[CODE]When Im in network connections and I right click either my lan or wireless connection the context menu appears but there is no writing in it. I've tried running them as admin, tried running them without UAC, and even tried to change the temp location from environment variables but it doesn't change. View 1 Replies View RelatedMy new Lenovo T520 is behaving weirdly. It just randomly started happening on the evening of the 14th, and has continued since. My computer turns on, and everything loads, but then it just siezes up. I was able to open Task Manager, it shows my CPU Usage at 0%, and my memory usage at about 40% with 70 processes running. Opening up Resource monitor, under disk, i shows my disk is constantly reading and writing. At first there was an SVCHost that was constantly reading - Superfetch, so I disabled this. I saw improved performance for one day. I did a system restore back to 3 days ago, and saw performance improvement once again for 1 day. I removed everything from startup, and turned off as many services as I could. Under device manager, in the driver section, I found an error with the Security something driver (I cannot remember exactly, and my computer will not let me browse anywhere) so I uninstalled this driver. (I was going to update it in safemode, but it will not let me) In the system event log, ever since the 15th, I am seeing lots of events, these events were for Computer Browser services not starting - services which I did not disable. (Maybe I did, but I set all services I turned off to Manual not Disabled, so it should have started when it was called).

It seems the computer thinks I want Japanese, where available, for the extended info it gets for music CD's. I've observed it occurring--the insertion point just reverts/jumps to a prior line--and not always at the beginning of a line, either.

I've just bought Seagate Momentus XT 500GB and installed it myself to desktop. Downloaded DiskWizard from Seagate to clone my old hard disk into the new one.

i installed windows 7 recently then after some while i did that "system rating" thing. right clicking on "computer" - "properties" - then there's "manufacturer" "model" then "rating" in the "system" section. while doing that power went off, because i didn't have the battery on and the charger got unplugged. i restarted the laptop and a message came up telling me that "operating system not found". so i decided to re-install windows 7. then after a while a message came up telling me that there is no hard disk installed. and press f3 to restart
View 10 Replies View RelatedI migrated from a 250 GB HDD to a 500 GB. I had around 230 GB of information wich I really didn't want to loose, so I cloned the old HDD to the new one with the software Acronis True Image Home.
Apparently, the cloning succeds, but when I disconnect the old Disk and try to boot from the new one, when I log on I get stuck in "preparing your session".
