Problem About Postgresql ODBC Driver Installation On W7
Jan 7, 2010
I installed postgresql odbc ver 8.3.5 on my windows 7 home premium. Installation looks successful. But on ODBC data source administrator, I can't see the installed odbc driver. Don't know why. And I found it's installed in program files(86) folder.
ODBC driver for Oracle is missing in my laptop running Windows 7.When I try to add a DSN, it's throwing up an error saying that ODBC driver not found please reinstall how can I reinstall it ?
On a Win7Pro-32 system running in XP mode, I'm trying to use ODBC (v5.1.9) to connect to a MySQL db on localhost. Interestingly, when using a username with remote host privileges I am able to connect to a remote db - this tells me ODBC is installed and working properly. Yet when I try to connect to localhost with a user DSN using a login that works on the XP mode host I get a Connection failed errorSo there's clearly something about ODBC to localhost. Any solution available?[Why ODBC in XP Mode you might ask? I'm trying to develop an Excel macro in XL2003 for a client. This is my attempt to replicate their environment without creating a mess of conflicts in my own working environment.]
I have a new HP 6200 small form factor that came pre-installed with Windows 7 64bit. I installed our corporate copy of MS Office Pro 2003 and then installed UPS Worldship 2011, which requires an ODBC to connect to our Access database. When I go into the ODBC to set up the connection under System DSN, it's completely blank. No Access DSN, no Excel DSN, completely blank. If I try to ADD a DSN the only options shown are SQL DSNs which I can not use.Initially, I called UPS Worldship Support. They referred me to Microsoft. After nearly 2 hrs on the phone with MS, they told me to call HP since HP preinstalled the Windows 7 and they handle anysoftware/warranty issues. So, I called HP. Their support is the pits. Nobody I talked with even knew what a DSN is (they kept telling me it was DNS not DSN and they are 2 different things!!).
emachine EL1200, AMD Athlon 64, Boxer 61 MB DA061L, 08120-1, 48.3V801.011. 2GB RAM, SATA HDD. Originally Win Vista but upgraded to Win 7 home premium 32 bit which worked ok. Problem - at boot up the following happens: verifying DMI pool data...update success, boot from CD, bootmgr is missing, press ctrl+alt+del to restart. inserted win 7 CD, installation progresses to stage where i get error message: no drives were found.click load driver to provide a mass storage driver for installation.
I just got a brand new computer for christmas, it's a hp compaq dc5850, and it was working fine until now! I tried turning the computer on and it got stuck at the blue hp invent screen, I didn't know what to do, so I finally decided to just try and restore it. When I try to use the windows 7 disc to do this it keeps saying "no drives were found. Click to load driver to provide a mass storage driver for installation".
Just like Vista, I cannot seem to find any way to stop the automatic driver installation. I love how when I uninstall a driver/device in XP, on reboot it pops up asking me what to do. Vista and 7 on the other hand, take it upon themselves to reinstall Microsoft drivers on reboot no matter what I do.
I've searched online and yielded no results, and searched here and didn't find anything either (Key words yield many results). Ideally I would prefer Vista/7 to just IGNORE the new device, so I can install the new one/update it myself. But if that can't be done, I'd at least like to be able to STOP the automatic driver installation.
Theres gotta be some way, even if I have to edit something or add registry keys, I just want to stop the automatic microsoft driver installation.
I currently have Windows 7 RC(Build 7100) x64 installed on my Lenovo Y650. The problem im currently having is that almost all of the drivers/system devices I try to install on windows hang during installation. In earlier builds I never had this problem, and it has only recently started happening. In fact, I am running 7100 only because the RTM build refused to install the drivers for my printer(which i needed badly) and I had to revert to 7100.
So far I have had this problem of hanging driver installs with my ipod, my blackjack II(installing windows mobile center), and updating my synaptic drivers. the install windows just sit there and nothing ever happens. I can eventually end the processes but I experience a slow down in performance that is only fixed by rebooting.
The strange thing about this whole problem is that I already had this exact build installed before had no problems with it, this has only started after i reinstalled(clean) with the RTM.
I have already searched google for all my specific problems and found nothing useful. Does anybody have any tips/fixes I can try that I may have overlooked?
Recently I started getting notifications and the such that said "Windows is not genuine." after letting a friend use my computer, I backed all my files up and re-installed Windows 7, but the drivers for the WLAN card didn't install correctly (probably because i had to borrow the boot disk from someone). So I used a friend's computer to download the drivers from HP, but after running the installation it opens for maybe a second (at least I can see the icon appear in the taskbar) and closes again. The model of my PC is HP 2000-299WM Notebook PC and is running windows 7.
i am going to install a factory oem windows 7 on my hp laptop following the gregrocker tutorial. now when i check the hp support site for drivers and softwares, i am confused on what to install and what to not.
Our office computers were just upgraded to Windows 7 Pro 64bit. We have 4 computers networked using a Work Network group. I am trying to install a HP LaserJet P2035 printer on one of the workstations but the CD that came with the printer does not have the driver to support Windows 7We just purchased the printer in March 2011, so I thought it would be compatiable with the new computers. However, I have tried everything that I can think of to find a driver that will work with Windows 7 with no luck.
When I plug it in, driver installation starts but fails. I can locate the device in the Device Manager, should I be manually installing a driver in this case? If so, I'd like to have a driver.
tried to install driver for samsung laser printer 331 ond on desktop w/win 7 home premium.message says cannot locate printer & in devices & printer its shown in unspecified.checked printer by installing on laptop w/ xp worked fine
I purchased a HP laptop that has window 7 home premium OA edition pre installed. I decided to shrink my primary partition and install ubuntu on it.However after ubuntu finish installing. I get a boot error and it leads me to the use the recovery tool. At that point, I am prompt to put in a win 7 cd.I do just that but there is no response. I also tried to go into the window 7 installation screen but it cannot find any drives. On the linux live cd however, I am able to see all my partitions on the install screen.I suspect that I might have installed ubuntu on some important factory config files.
I purchased new computer, graphics card: nVidia quadro 600 and a new HP 2311x Monitor. Should be 1920 x 1080 resolution. Downloaded latest drivers off HP website? how to install hp 2311x drivers for windows professional?

It really sucks because it's a driver that, when not installed, causes me to crash all the time! I've already tried disabling Windows Security Essentials' Real-Time Protection.
I am trying to install the Broadcom Bluetooth stack via their software install program SetupBtwDownloadSE.exe. My BT dongle is a Rocketfish RF-mrbtad installed in a USB port. Operating system Win 7 64 bit SP1.The installation application crashes at the "verify bluetooth" stage of installation and the expanded error code is as follows:
Windows says device driver installation failed for hp laserjet 1012. This despite printer working correctly. Every time on reboot I get this message. How do I stop windows from trying to install driver for a working device???
I have lost my driver installation CD. My computer crashed earlier this week and am not sure what drivers I even need to reinstall so that I can reinstall the OS.
After I installed Windows 7 64bit I found out that I had no sound so I went and download the latest driver for my Creative Labs X-fi Xtream gamer audio card. After I installed it and then restarted the regular "starting windows" came up for a few seconds but then went a way and loaded into the recovery manager where it wants to do a system restore, but I am stuck now in a loop of it trying to restore and then restarting with no progress. If the CL driver is the problem is there anyway I can get audio in windows 7 if the driver prevents me from starting up?
