View 1 RepliesI bought this laptop 2 days ago and as it came with pre-loaded Windows 7 home premium 32-bit, i converted it to 64-bit and then recovered everything. I have a few simple questions to ask:As my laptop came with preloaded OS, do I still need to install additional drivers for it ? I had taken a look at toshiba india website and for my model, they have given a lot of drivers which can be installed, but I doubt if they are for pre-loaded or clean installation of windows 7 home premium 64-bit ? If I do need to install the drivers, then what is the sequence I need to follow as I have read in many threads that sequential installation of drivers is essential for proper functioning of all features. I would be extremely grateful if any of you experts could provide me the sequence of drivers to be installed on my laptop.

There are the following printers in my system:
EPSON TX115 Series - Bob
EPSON TX115 Series - Mary
EPSON TX115 Series - Carl
Which was installed first? And which was last? I need to know through the registry.
So, I have a disk with Windows 7 installed on the 3rd partition of that disk. I want to move that installation to the first partition of the disk.Repartitioning and boot settings aside, is there a way to do that? (besides using sysprep)Last time I tried that, windows would load slowly and after ''Preparing your desktop'' screen it would just show the one-color desktop, no icons, no explorer shell loaded.Alt,Ctrl, delete works, for running ''explorer'' from task manager, but computer, control panel or anything system-related does not open, instead it pops up an error window with, (e.x.)''{ED7BA470-8E54-465E-825C-99712043E01C}'' not found.

For example, first chipset drivers and then lan, of first do updates and then drivers etc...

View 1 Replies View RelatedI had a dual boot, xp/Win 7, The HD with the XP crashed. Reinstalled XP and now don't have dual boot option. Tried for 2 days to get it to work but to no avail. I reinstalled Win 7 on a different HD than the old install. Got the dual boot option back. Here's my question, can I edit the boot sequence to redirect to the old Win 7 install instead of the new one? So I don't have to re-install all my programs.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI'll give you a general overview of what has happened with my computer lately so we can get the big picture, I run windows 7 home premium -64bit with a asustek p7p55 lx mother board a nvidia 560 graphics card. As for the beginning of the problem, it started with my ram, I had 4gb installed and wanted to up it so I got another 4gb set (4 cards total as the board has 4 slots) it ran fine for a while but I had an issue where it wouldn't start, I decided to clean it out since it was super dirty and during trial and error found that the first ram slot was not working, I have since then had to buy 2 4gb sticks and run 10gb of ram. I recently have and issue same as when I tried to use all 4 slots that the CPU fan runs at high rpm and the boot doesn't even start. I don't get beeps or anything and so my computer is left useless! Since I upgrade my graphics card the case my computer in fits it but it had an attachable funnel type thing to channel air to the CPU, I'm wondering due to the graphics cards size I can not put that on so I have left the case off, speed fan has never shown any high temps. The computer was running fine for 2-3 weeks and then it just died.
if it does boot, it stays black and beeps once long then three short beeps, this is the same as it uses to do and I fixed it by removing the first ram slot. I've tried all of the slots and tried resetting the ram memory or what ever it's called. I forget.. Starts with a c and I'm on my phone so I can't look it up.
When I go into the Bios Boot screen there is no CD, HD etc option. Blank? Any suggestions please?

View 5 Replies View RelatedI have an newer HP Netbook running Windows 7. I recently installed Open Office 3.3 on the machine, and it works fine, except for some key sequences. For example, in the OO Writer, the key sequence Ctrl-Home should move the cursor to the top of the doc. This works fine on my older HP XP Pro laptop, but my netbook ignores or doesn't understand it. I have removed OO and reinstalled it, but the problem still occurs. So, I guess I need to figure out if this is a Windows or Open Office issue.
View 3 Replies View RelatedFirst post for me on WSF. First time I've been really interested in Windows 7.
I'm building a new rig and the plan is to have two O/S drives one for XP and one for Windows 7. In addition, each drive will host the O/S-specific apps - games on XP, productivity on Windows 7, etc. A third drive will house the user data files.
I have two questions:Since I will be starting from scratch what is the ideal sequence for installing the O/Ses in a dual-boot config? Can Windows 7-64 coexist with XP-32 without having to fiddle with BIOS settings? Okay, come to think of it I have another question: could I add a third O/S drive and have a triple-boot config with Win 98-SE?
I can hear the roars of laughter now but... if you've ever spent sleepless nights playing Panzer General you'll understand why I just can't let go of Win 98. And no, PG won't run in XP's emulation mode. Neither will NFS Porsche Unleashed...
I have two internals my primary C: uses Win 7 O.S i would like to put Linux fedora on the second drive . i have a disk but it does not pick program automatically the documentation say to change boot sequence i thuoght it was F2 but pressing that right at the beggining does not stop windows from booting.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI just finished a new build, and ready to setup with raid0 and win7 64bit.After reading several posts in several categories, I am unsure of the correct sequence of events. I think it is - boot with windows install disk, enter bios, setup raid0, then do windows install to raid array. I will be adding the 2nd set of ssd's for raid 1 in 3-4 days, and was wondering if there was any benefit to wait on the install, set up both raid 0 and raid 1 before the windows install. The ssd's are all 128 GB, the raid0 on sata III 6 gbs ports, the raid 1 will be on the 3gbs ports.

I recently installed windows 7 home premium on my new SSD drive. I previously had windows 7 installed on a 2GB HHD drive (same win dvd, same serial). I booted with windows dvd, and formatted the old c: (which had windows on it). The HHD drive had 2 partitions and i kept the other one ,which only contained one folder with aprox 10 GB of random files, but nothing windows related).
Windows is now up and running from my SSD disc, but in the boot sequence two(!) windows 7 installations are shown, and I'm asked to choose which one i wanna boot with. The top alternative works as intended, but the other one tells me to make a windows repair with the windows dvd. I do not want to repair this (non existing) instance of windows. I want it removed! How do I make it disappear?
Is there a preferred sequence that one should use (and one should avoid) in replacing a video card... to avoid being left in the dark?On my Dell Dimension 9200 (now on Win 7 Home Edition, 64 bit), I will be replacing its x16 256mb OEM NVidia GeForce 8600GT with a freed up card from another machine (x16 OEM 1GB ATI RADEON HD 5670).Will this sequence work?:remove all Nvidia software via control panel power down and remove the card insert the replacment ATI card and power up pray it will work with native windows drivers install ATI The AMD Catalyst Control center run "auto-detect" the card follow prompts to install the proper drivers. or is there a safer sequence of steps?
View 3 Replies View RelatedWhen in word documents or typing in browsers, my laptop keyboard is perfectly fine, but when I'm in a game or certain other programs (like typing in Pandora, the internet radio) my keyboard (all the numbers, letters, and punctuation keys), when hit, will display numbers. No matter what key is pressed the first press gives me a "1," the next a "2," and so forth until "0" which is when it goes back to "1." I can't play anything and have to copy paste into Pandora's typing field.
Oddly, when I hit CTRL-V to paste it still registers. CTRL-random number would not paste, so something is (I think) changing my letters into numbers after the letter registers. I tried to do all the Num-lock and scroll-lock stuff but it didn't work. AVG Free's scheduled scan turned up nothing. I'm currently scanning with Malwarebytes Anti-Malware and Spybot S&D. Unhackme says there is no Trojan on my computer. I temporarily fixed the problem previously with a system restore, but it did not last.
I have an MP4 video that I want to be converted to PNG images (every single frame).I've downloaded a number of programs that claim to do this but not exactly how I want. One program I tried was Avidemux, which is almost what I wanted, but it only outputs to JPG.I tried virtualdub but the file won't open in it.

View 3 Replies View Relatedthere's such an application able to load a sequence of static pictures and turn them to a video or animation, then able to make necessary transformations like resizing or changing color depth, and finally export eighter as video or animated .GIF.
I have tried several applications that I already have installed like Fireworks, Vegas or Corel VideoStudio but none of them seem to handle that job.
