Make The Keyboard Backlight Light Up Automatically?

I would like to make it light up between 6 pm to 6 am, and not light up between 6 am to 6 pm , but all I want for now is to light up at every restart.
Windows 7 Upgraded - Speaker Volume Slowly Decreases
Feb 27, 2011I am not sure if this is a Windows 7 problem but it seems to have occurred since I upgraded. Whenever I am speaking on Skype or listening to a video the speaker volume slowly decreases on the volume bar until it reaches zero. I have tried searching in control panel to make sure all the correct boxes are ticked but cannot resolve the problem.

Feb 13, 2011I have 8GB of memory in my computer.When I power it up, the memory usage starts out at somewhere between 10%-20%, which I think is OK.After a while of using the computer and opening & closing programs, the amount of memory being used steadily increases, until it escalates to around 89%, upon which things start to work poorly.The most prominent effect is loss of internet connection.Network stops working entirely, and running ipconfig shows nothing, as if I don't even have a network adapter.I tried opening the Network and Sharing Center and the Device Manager when this happened, but they wouldn't open.Also, it is difficult to restart the computer after this starts happening.The computer seems to be working swiftly, but certain actions seem to be problematic (e.g. opening Task Manager or any Explorer window, or reaching the Ctrl+Alt+Delete screen). Other things might still work, though (for example, opening Command Prompt).
There is no error message of any sort, nor a BSOD.I can somehow understand why this might happen, if no memory is available to the OS, but what I don't understand is this: Even at 90% usage, with 8 GB of RAM there should still be enough for the system to operate normally.Why does closing programs have no effect on the situation?I summed up the memory taken by all open processes when the memory was at about 75% usage, and it doesn't even add up to 2GB. Adding an exaggerated 2GB extra for the OS itself, it shouldn't even reach 50%.How does this come to be in the first place? It looks like closing applications does not free the memory they were using.I performed a full virus scan using ESET's online scanner (in case my own antivirus was compromised), as well as a malware scan using Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware, but everything seems to be clean.I've had this computer for around 3 weeks, and have installed mostly games on it so far.Basic System Information:Operating System: Windows 7 Home Premium OS Version:6.1.7600 Build 7600 System Type: x64 RAM: 8 GB (2 x 4GB) Antivirus: NOD32I've attached a few files with some more information: System Information.txt - Exported from msinfo32.Resource Monitor Numbers.txt - A summary of the information in the Resource Monitor when my memory was at around 75% usage, before the functionality issues start to occur.It contains an exaggerated sum (rounded each value up to the nearest whole MB) of all the process memory values in the Processes table.IPConfig.Bad.txt - What running ipconfig looks like after the functionality issues start to occur.
Second HDD Drastically Increases S3 Wake Time?
Aug 10, 2010I've recently built the system described in my specs and all worked well untill I installed the second HDD. I want the second disk as a file backup disk as I don't need the performance of RAID 0 but want easy, constant access to a backup disk without having to plug in an external. The second disk is recognised by the BIOS and Windows (it can be accessed and I formatted and mapped it and read and write is fine). The problem is that I've noticed that now instead of Windows 7's awesome 2-3 second wake from S3 sleep that I had with one drive, it now takes about 15-20s. The second HDD is definitely the culprit as I've pulled the power on it and Windows will wake in 3 seconds again. Windows seems to wait for the second disk to spin up before it wakes 'cause I can hear it click and spin at wake. I asked friends with multiple disks and they said that their second disk only spins up when they first access them in explorer. I thought this would be a simple BIOS setting to set mine to do the same but I cannot find anything appropriate. The only thing in Windows' Power Management settings that I can find relating to HDDs is the inactive time to spin down; nothing about spin up at boot/wake.
Google has only offered me something called PUIS or PM2 power setting for SATA drives that was made for older PSUs that couldn't handle the power requirements of spinning up two HDDs simultaneously. This sounded like it might work but the setting is apparently made with SATA jumpers (I didn't even know that SATA drives had jumpers) and on inspection of my drives, mine don't.Does anybody know of a Windows setting for this or is it a BIOS thing? I've asked Gigabyte but they've not replied in a few days and I don't think they're going to any time soon

Jun 15, 2012I'm having this for quite some time now, physical memory usage goes up (especially when using firefox/bitcomet - both of which are the highest consumers of memory on my taskbar-around 200-500MB of RAM). shutting them down will only free a small amount of the memory and the rest still counts as taken. at first i thought it was a bitcomet only thing: Bitcomet hogging memory - Comet Forums it looks like a memory leak since the process won't free the memory i also read on google that using a processor with "NUMA" based memory design doesn't go well with windows 7 (which is the case here), therefore i tried to download an attached hotfix which apparently did not match my machine (Windows6.1-KB2155311-x64) here are my specs:
cpu: intel i7 860
gpu: geforce 560 ti
8GB 1333MHZ of RAM
tons of free hd space
CPU Temperature At Around 70C - Slowly Increases / Hits 100C And Shuts Down
Dec 9, 2010My old computer's temperature sensor is either broken or I am doing something wrong. The general specs of it are:
Windows 7 Ultimate Edition
Intel 946G Motherboard
Pentium D 820 2.8Ghz
3 GB DDR2 533 Ram
ATI Radeon x1650 pro
When I go into bios and read the cpu temperature from there, it starts at around 70C and slowly rises until it eventually hits 100C and shuts down. This takes about 5-10 min before it hits 100C. When I enter Windows, it starts at around 60C and it actually goes up to 80C when I am playing games. This is way hotter than normal. It does not rise like in bios and goes back to 60C when idle. Prior to this, the temperature actually hit 100C and it shut down my computer. I bought a new heatsink thinking it would solve the problem, but clearly it did not. The temperature is still too hot.
Since a brand new heatsink did not work, I thought it was cpu problem for sure. I borrowed one of my friend's Celeron D and installed it. I entered bios and what do you know, it stays at 42C and does not even budge. So at this point, I'm 100% sure it's a cpu problem. I decided to buy an intel pentium D 945 3.4Ghz. I installed it and was extremely happy thinking my cpu's temperature would be decent. I entered bios and what do you know, it does exactly the same thing my 820 2.8Ghz did. It starts around 70C and the damn thing keeps on rising. So I decided to go into windows to see how the temperatures were in there. It idles at around 47-49C. When I ran prime95 for a test, the cpu went all the way up to 93C before I decided to shut it off and not do any further damage.
HDD Light Keeps Blinking?
Oct 8, 2011I have recently obtained a laptop with Windows 7 Home Premium installed. This is the first time I'm using Windows 7.My HDD light on the laptop keeps blinking, even when I'm not doing anything, just staring at the desktop. I don't notice anything on the performance, everything seems to run fineOne thing I was immediately aware of is how Windows 7 seems to run a lot of processes in the background; indexing, defragging, etc... I have turned these off, along with stuff like WDefender,Firewall, my hdd light still keeps blinking.I have also noticed that googling this issue reveals lots of results with mixed replies. Some say HDD light is supposed to be blinking and/or this is completely normal, others say it might be an issue.Just as I was writing this, I also downloaded a gadget for monitoring hdd: Drives Meter. Looking at the graph, the hdd doesn't seem to be doing much. It usually stays on %0, just some little activity here and there... Yet the light is blinking on a heartbeat rate. Bear in mind, I am running Comodo+Eset at the background; however, for comparison, on my PC (running XP Pro) which also runs Comodo+Eset, there is no blinking whatsoever.

Oct 12, 2012My only way of watching my blu-rays is on my computer. I've been using PowerDVD 11 Ultra for a while without significant problems. I recently noticed, however, that it was stopping playback during movies, simply pausing and then crashing. I decided to reinstall in the hope of getting smooth playback. After doing so, I had a new problem: all blu-ray video was now very light, forcing all darks to be gray, instead. I should note that I have a Radeon 5770 card and Catalyst's video settings are disabled to allow the player to function without interference (Catalyst 12.6). Despite that, however, PDVD still just gives me gray blacks. I tried downloading TotalMedia Theater and WinDVD trial versions to find a program that works right. To my shock and horror, I have the exact same problem with them, too. What is wrong with the blu-ray playback that has caused programs to play incorrectly? I am convinced that the problem is not related to my computer. One moment, everything was fine. The next moment, everything was bugged. Please note that all other video looks perfect, whether it be DVD, video files, or online videos with my Catalyst settings applied to them.Does anyone have any ideas as to what is going on? Does Blu-Ray software actually work right on computers? I noticed that the Cyberlink forums have plenty of people talking about this same issue happening with PDVD12. Considering that I had the exact problem with the other two programs, I think this goes beyond software developers.

Jul 7, 2012I pulled apart my HP dv6t 6000 Quad Edition last night to clean a year's worth of dust accumulation out of it. While I was quite impressed at how sturdy the construction of the laptop was (22 good, strong screws holding in the top cover alone), I put it back together and the orange indicator light is stuck ON (the one that says if the AC cable is plugged in or not) even if it's not plugged in! So, I pulled it back apart and re-checked the power connector cable, and everything was fine and in place. It goes on even if the laptop is turned off. As long as the battery is in, that orange light turns on.
The orange light is only supposed to come on if the AC is plugged in and the battery is charging. Also, if I plug in the AC cable, it light turns off. I never actually removed the power connector cable from the system board, so there's no way it got turned around. Could this be caused, however, if another plug somewhere got turned around? For further reference, here is the manual I used. [URL]. I went as far as removing the system board.

Power button board
Fingerprint reader board
Speaker assemblies (front and back)
(My laptop has no bluetooth module, so that's irrelevant)

Oct 11, 2012I have a dell Inspiron from 2010 desktop of and today when I turned it on it went through all the boot up sequence normally. I try to login but I can't the USB mouse or keyboard are lighting up since the mouse is a laser and the keyboard has the num lock light. I go to the back and check and see if my Ethernet light is on its off. I pulled out my USB and tried the one in the front no luck. When I enter bios the keyboard works. Also I turned off the computer holding the button unfortunately. I pulled the plug out and held the power button for 30 seconds to drain the on board battery. When I turned it back on I had no luck both the keyboard and mouse were not working and the Ethernet light is still off. One more thing my PSU has always had a small led on it it always lit up green and it still was.

Mar 1, 2012I'm using a Fujitsu S6520 that I recently upgraded to Windows 7 Professional (32 bit). The fujitsu comes with 8 preset screen backlight levels that can be adjusted via the fn key on the keyboard. Prior to this, I was using Windows XP on the same computer, and I used to set the backlight at level 3. After upgrading to Windows 7, even level 2 is too bright (it is slightly higher than level 3 on windows xp even), and level 1 is too dark. The jump is drastic. Oddly, when I am in BIOS mode, the backlight levels work fine. The jumps are gradual, and like how it was in Windows XP, level 3 is a comfortable level. I notice that I can control the backlight via Windows Mobility Centre. But even there, the levels along the slider are preset. The lowest backlight is 1, the 2nd is 15, 3rd is 29 and so on. If there is a way that I could reduce backlight level 2 on my computer to around 10 or 11 in Windows Mobility Centre, that would be perfect.

I'm new here so forgive me and feel free to direct me to any thread if it's been posted already.So I have a HP DV6-2162NR laptop and the mute button (touch) is stuck in the mute position (see picture).The button works completely fine, as in it will mute and unmute on command but the button does not change color from orange to white. I couldn't do a system restore because there wasn't one saved. I tried disabling the sound card but that didn't work.I'll restart it and it turns white. But as soon as Windows 7 loads, it turns orange and stays orange.

It has became very slow and system startup takes too much time (about 7 mins), after starting up, HDD light is permanently on and system is very slow for about 30 mins and then it comes back to normal. I checked the running processes from task manager but there's nothing to do with them, also startup programs aren't taking too much memory. My function keys are not working except for volume control. I am pretty sure that there's no virus in my system, I checked it with my antivirus (nod32) and microsoft security essentials. I also checked my c drive with CHKDSK it could'nt find any error related.
