Oh. Its an Acer ASPIRE 5534. Win 7 home premium, 64bit.
NT Kernel & System rises to top of list in task manager and then just totally stops installs from proceeding. I have fought NT Kernel & System on 3 computers running Win 7 x64 ever since Win 7 has been out. No one yet that I know of has been able to solve the issue. I now need to install Java and can't because of NT Kernel & System stops it. I have tried everything on every forum and sites l find with Google searches. Nothing has worked yet.
My computer shut down on Thursday sometime due to windows updates. When I came to work on Friday I was unable to log into one of my home based business work programs. I was told to uninstall Flash player and reinstall. It worked for a bit, but each time a script pulled up, it said "windows cannot display this webpage' and if I hit F5 I would get the script most of the time. On Sat, I was unable to get into IE at all, it would say DNS Server not responding.
I ran unplugged modem/router and reset it, rebooted pc and nothing worked. Sunday, I went online at DELL and ran a system checkup and everything passed, went to my program and it said Java was not installed on this pc. I uninstalled Java and reinstalled it and program still says the same thing. I did find a blog on google that said I needed Java 1.5 which will run along side the updated Java. Can't find 1.5 anywhere. I also did a system restore to Thursday and now my IE screen is blank, just a plain white screen. I need IE for my job, Google works fine.

I'm running Windows 7 home premium. I seem to be unable to access Internet Options both from the desktop shortcut and control panel. I've tried restoring the system to an earlier point and this has failed (Error 0x80070005 failed to extract the file Windowssystem 32driverssfi.dat).
Operating system: Windows 7 Home Premium User account type: admin Recent Updates: none
Experiencing: back button does not work anymore and internet explorer options are greyed out (never missed with the admin settings and am the only the person who use this comp)
for some reason I can't access the bar for internet explorer that includes tools so I can delete cookies. It's just not there. All I have in the URL line and below that convert and select (re PDFs)I can't see any button to open a bar that might include Tools etc
OP: Windows 7 won't connect to the internet? The ethernet cable is plugged in and it works (it can connect to the internet fine on the mac partition) but when I am on Windows 7 it cannot detect that I am connected to the internet. I have tried unplugging and replugging and restarting but it still doesn't work. When I troubleshoot, it says: Install a driver for your network adapter. But I am using the DSL-G604T and on its website it says it doesn't need drivers.
How can I find "Internet Options in my Windows 7? I need to change my font and color. But when e-mailing, I have to change it with each message! I hate windows 7!
i downloaded the java runtime environment 6.0 and tryed to install it but i keep getting the error 1723. Saying that there is a .dll file missing or something. I re downloaded it like 5 times and the same thing happens. I have a 32-bit version of windows 7 and a 7100 build.
i use windows 7 ultimate x64 and im trying to install java sdk. But i only get the error This installation package could not be opened. Verify that the package exist and that you can access it,or contact the application vendor to verify that this is a valid Windows Installer package.
She did the annual update and it failed leaving no copy of the program on the machine.Long story short I got her into her Mcafee account and dl'd the updated version. It would not install because of a Java error. This is also the problem preventing with her logging onto her bank account. So I updated her Java to version 7 and confirmed it on Java's site.Still no joy. Mcafee will not install for the same reason and by the way, she is updated to SP1 on Win 7.I'll put a log from TSG SysInfo up a bit later.
I have tried numerous of time to install the latest version of Java. Everytime I try to install it I get Error 1606. It tells me that it is unable to get in contact with the network. I even trie using an offline installer & I still receive the same error message.
