Disk Not Getting Recognized In E Drive
Aug 13, 2011I have a cd with pictures on it from my holiday. When I got home I tried the disk in my ps3 and all the pictures were there I then tried it in the e drive of my pc but it doesn't recognize the disk at all. I have since tried it back in the ps3 and now that doesn't recognize it either. Am desperate to recover the pics??

Dec 11, 2012and came to know that it is not possible to install os on the dynamic so i wanted to convert my disk into basic one .for this i downloaded a software HxDwhich said me to change sequence of numbers that r associated with the disk by a process of entering into the disk codes and changin hex numbers associated withit.and then it said me to restart.nd i did...i restared and suddenly the system asked me for system repair,but i chose to enter normally ,but it did not start and again asked me for system repairi did so,but it showed an error and said it cant be repaired.so i decided to install os again(windows 7) wen i did so,it could not recognise any hard disks,?

The Device Mgr says there are three hard drives attached and the Storage Controller tab recognizes the Marvel 91XX chipset and says the driver for the Sata III Ports is installed.

Feb 20, 2012I will try to explain this.First i have Asus laptop N75sf and it comes with two hard disks Seagate ST 9500423AS each 500 gb.The one i use for storing documents movies etc. it is not recognized.But i can use the laptop because the other one is good and there is my windows installed.When i turn on my laptop the hard disk makes some noise more than usual but after a while it stops.Sometimes my laptop freezes completly and i cant move my mouse nothing.

Dec 23, 2012My external HDD (A WD 2TB My Book) just up and quit on me while I was using it today. My computer was no longer recognizing it, and I could no longer access my files. My computer still acknowledges it under drivers however, and it claims all the drivers are up to date and that the device is working properly. I tried going into to Disk Management to see if I could do anything from there, but it isn't even recognized there. There is however a Disk 1 but it is unknown and not initialized. I'm assuming this is my external HDD since its the only external disk I've used on my computer. When I tried to initialize it, it failed due to an I/O device error although the error prompt didn't refer to any specific problem.

Jan 11, 2013I have 3 internal drives. Drive C has Windows 7 installed. Drive F I use as a backup. I'm trying to install Windows Server 2008 on Drive E. Drive E has been formatted, shows up in Windows Explorer, takes data, etc., but it does not show up as an available disk for the install process. The other 2 show up as install options but not Drive E. I've unplugged, rebooted, unplugged Drive F, booted from CD, and the drive will not appear but appears in Explorer.

Jan 27, 2013I recently backed up about 500gb of recent work onto an external drive so I could clean my PC inside and out. I gave it a clean install of windows 7 and when it comes time to get my work of my external, the drive cannot be recognized and requires a reformat.It was working perfectly fine and I surely did not format the drive into a RAW file system. I tried plugging into my laptop running win8 and still the very same issue. I plugged it into a mac running the lastest mac os 10 and I can browse all my folders and see the files but I can't move/copy or open them. But at least I know all is not lost.

Nov 12, 2009I recently purchased a WD Scorpio Black 320GB 2.5" HDD for my Gateway MX6920 notebook. I wanted to upgrade to this larger, faster HDD and replaced it into my notebook and attempted to install Windows 7. During setup it stopped and gave the error 0xc00000e9 for "unplugging a removable storage device such as an external USB drive ......".
I tried installing Windows XP and it gets to a blue screen to choose a Repair of Windows or a fresh install. Choosing either one returns a blue screen that says system can not find a Hard disk connected.
I put this drive into an enclosure and formatted it in another computer. Also it is recognized in BIOS. I'm running BIOS version 77.08 if relevant.

Jan 15, 2013We had an external USB drive with tons of media files on it connected to computer A running Windows 7 Pro SP1. The drive was safely removed and connected to another computer that was running Windows XP Pro 2002 SP3. I was told that the drive was not recognized in XP and that it was disconnected (I cannot say for sure "Safely") and returned to the Windows 7 computer. Once the drive came up I get the following:
K: is not accessible. The disk structure is corrupted and unreadable.
I know every drive fails eventually and I'm not sure how old this drive is. Any utilities to use to try and repair the file structure. I have only tried rebooting the Windows 7 computer and that did not change anything.

Sep 29, 2012I have a Zotac 570 gtx connected via HDMI cable to my Asus VE258 LED monitor.I've had this video card and monitor setup working before with the exact cable, card and monitor.Something changed in my system where the monitor is no longer recognized for what it is. When i go into my Nvidia control panel under change resolution 1.Digital Display, 2. DVI-PC Display - Resolution 1080p 59 Hz. There is no DVI cable plugged into the computer and the monitor is set on HDMI input. When i go to my Audio playback devices, the HDMI connection does not show up at all, even as disabled or disconnected.When i go to play a game (Diablo 3, Skyrim, Farcry2) The game either doesn't open (skyrim) giving me the error that resolution is not recognized (but then does not give me any resolutions to choose from in the options menu) or will play (Diablo 3) but is stuck on extremely low resolutions with only 2 options.
Here's what i've done. Contacted Zotac and had them send me the most recent drivers for the video card. Uninstalled originals and re-installed the new ones. Contacted Asus (they say its not the monitor as long as its set on HDMI input) I am unable to find a driver that will make my computer (Windows 7) recognize the monitor for what it is. Zotac failed after their attempt with the driver and told me to RMA the card. So i did... i waited a month.

I upgraded my basic drive to dynamic drive ( got four partitions now) 2. My OS (win 7 home premium x64) is on one of the partiotion on the dynamic disk. QUESTIONS How do i convert back to basic... i only have my OS key no install cd? Can i take a back up or sys image that i can use later on after converting my hard disk to basic?

Then I created my System Repair disk (single disk). Does this disk include all software and windows updates that were on my computer at the time I created the disk? I have read that System Repair disks will only have the factory settings of Windows 7, but I don't know if this is the case for all System Repair disks or only those that came with the computer and were made before the computer was purchased?I've also read that a System Repair disk could include a system image. I'm thinking of my HDD as being corrupted or messed up. The problem occurred after I accidentally hit the CPU when I was stretching my foot. The screen froze after that. Feb 17, 2010I have been having a bit of trouble with windows 7 lately, namely that it won't start up right. When I boot from the drive normally, it gives me the classic "BOOT DISK ERROR: INSERT SYSTEM DISK AND PRESS ENTER" message.
However, I soon discovered that if I boot from the Windows 7 cd and do not boot from it (By ignoring the "Press a key to boot from CD or DVD..." Windows 7 boots up fine.
I've tweaked my BIOS over and over, but the same problem persists. The drive is brand new and fine. What can I do?

Initialize Disk Failed Logical Disk Manager?
Mar 10, 2012One of the hard disks suddenly failed to initialized. The first problem I found on this disk was unable to open one of the zip files then the machine crashed. After I restarted the machine the HDD drive was missing from the Computer. My computer has 6 hard drives including the missing one. One is Corsair SSD for the OS and the rest are Samsung, Hitachi and WD all of them are 1TB. When I checked on the Device Manager the Drive is there and the device status is properly working. I checked on the Disk Management and I got a message to Initialize the Disk then I followed the instruction. Again I got an error message " Virtual Disk Manager - The system cannot find the file specified." On the Disk Management windows the status of the Disk is "Unknown 931.51GB Not Initialized- Unallocated". I tried to initialize but the same error I got. I did not name this drive but it named automatically RV 01 and the Location is 0.I use Acronis Disk Director to fix the problem but it cannot change the status to online. What I did last week was I installed some programs to the Drive X instead of Drive C.My computer OS is Windows 7 64bits all the drivers and software are updated.
