i try even all method from recovery drive still i have recovery drive D with all files .f11 is not working even when i active d drive boot error shows when i use recovery disc setup start bt its shows "this system media not for this system"
View 5 RepliesMy friend's Sony Vaio recently stopped working. It's displaying a black screen and the words "Operating system not found." I tried to do a system restore on it but half-way through it reported an error and aborted. Since a recovery disc wasn't provided or made, we bought one from a website provided by Neosmart.net and burned it onto a blank CD. The CD starts up but the problem is that it can't find the Windows 7 operating system. It was the only OS installed on the hard drive.

So I put in the Acer Recovery Discs that I made when I first purchased the computer. Now I have used this discs before with no problems at all. So I put the first disc in, selected the option to do a complete system restore back to factory defaults. It's my understanding that this completely wipes the OS off the HDD. So the first disc ran with no problems. I put the second disc in and got an error message Fail to copy to HDD: D:PatchModulesWIncre.002WOP000460OX0TCB111.SWM Press OK to continue I press OK to continue, and it boots back to the BIOS screen. Then it goes to a black screen and says BOOTMGR IS MISSING. PRESS CTRL+ALT+DEL TO CONTINUE.So I put the recovery disc back in to try the process over again and same thing happens.

I then did a restore to a point before the problem and now the computer will not boot. I have tried to do a system recover from the hard drive and it goes though some loading and then a black screen with a cursor that I can move, but nothing to click on. I have two sets of recovery disk, one set made the day I bought the computer and another I made recently. I get the same results with the disk as when trying to recover from the hard drive.I have now install Linux Mint duel boot so that I can use my computer, but would like to get Windows working again.

View 9 Replies View RelatedA week ago my computer crashed after my dad used it. It ran a System Fix which was a virus and a program I don't remember installing. Now when it boots it has a black screen that says Windows Memory Error and gives two options, Start Windows Recovery or Start Windows Normally. When he realized what he had done he tried the recovery tool first. It had a Windows is Loading files bar that didn't move at all so he left it on all night. It never moved, so he tried option 2 it brought up the 5 Recovery tools none of them did anything helpful. We tried using safe mode, it doesn't work either, brings back to useless Windows Recovery tools. We went out and Bought an OEM since the person we bought this from forgot to give us the Install Discs, We got to Repair Your Computer option below Install, it said our version of windows wasn't the right version for the OEM so it was a waste of $200. Now I am stuck and out of ideas. I've hooked the harddrives up to our old Windows XP and virus scanned, check disced, and backed up them. how to recover and repair without reformatting/wiping the HDD?

I have a Samsung Q430 Intel i5 with Windows 7 x64 Home Premium (SP1), and the computer randomly started to lag, so I restarted it. It logged in successfully the first few times, but became extremely laggy after login, until it froze up completely each time. I then tried the recovery CD, and it worked the first time, but nothing changed, and it was still laggy. However, the computer could not even get past the black loading screen anymore, and began on a continuous reboot cycle, each time ending with a flash of a BSOD that I couldn't catch. It restarts to two options: Launch startup repair or Start windows normally, both of which end up freezing and restarting.I have tried:-Safe Mode (worked first time, but was laggy, and now it just freezes during loading)-Last Known good configuration (nothing happened)-Recovery CD (becomes stuck while trying to find the OS, says "Drive E: 0 bytes, windows 7 and never finishes loading)-Installation CD (stuck at entering setup screen)The only thing that really works is the Ubuntu Live CD.

5. I have rebuilt the BCD from scratch.
6. There is a BOOT (X partition which shows on the CMD. Someone said its the RAM virtual partition.
7. Upon booting the system gives WINDOWSsystem32winload.exe error.
8. The f11 or recovery manager ain't working.
What I Want
1. I want to do a factory restore.
I recently purchased HP Envy 4-1025 TX which came preinstalled with Windows Home Basic X64bit. Since it was having a single partition of 500 GB, i decided to do partition and for that i used bootable USB Drive to make 2 partitions, one of 50 GB and other of remaining space. After partitioning i abort the process in middle and then pressed F11 for system recovery but that didn't worked and finally i used that bootable USB Drive only to clean install Windows Home Basic. My problem is that i want to restore system to factory image using recovery partition since activation would be a issue. Now i tried many steps to use recovery partition like I made recovery partition as active and then boot but it is not working and rather windows opens up. I also did try to change letter of recovery partition to D: but that also didn't help. I also tried HP UEFI Update but that is also not working and giving error that your drive already has 4 partitions. The remaining disk space of about 395 GB is also unallocated, i can't allocate it since when i try to allocate it, it gives error that there is no space for new partition as MBR is full.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI tried to break the disk on several parts with Partition Manager, but at the middle of the process it froze and I forced the computer to restart. After resetting it says to "Insert the Recover Disk or other Recovery Media". After it I put the disc with the Windows 7 and at the menu where you have to choose to move (by keyboard arrows) to installation, the keyboard does not work, so I can't move to the installation and it jumps directly to the Local Disc. I also tried Windows XP disc and the same problem - there is no chance to reinstall the system. The keyboard is working in the BIOS, but after does not work.

i have a toshiba satellite C650 that has recently come up with a disk read error. I want to access the command prompt to try some potential solutions that I have read about on the internet. I have made a Windows 7 recovery disk using my other acer laptop which also has Windows 7 installed. When I use the recovery disk and it has loaded the files etc it just brings up a black screen and the cursor. I tried booting my acer laptop from the recovery disk and it worked fine. why I am getting the 'disk read error - hit ctrl, alt and delete to restart' message?

View 6 Replies View RelatedI have Unallocated space at the very end of my hard drive, even after the 25gb Recovery Partition, this is due to copying my old hard drive onto this new one via Clonezilla, and it automatically keeping the unallocated space at the end. Can I either move the unallocated space around the Recovery Partition, or delete the Recovery Partition altogether? Sorry if I am being a little unclear.

I encounter an error 1029 with Asus's recovery disks that I made when I had windows working: it says it is recovering all the way to 100% then doesnt work. I am in the process of trying it again so I'll see if it actually managed to wipe my hard drive like it said it was doing, and maybe if it did actually work and reinstall windows.However, I'd like to be able to get into the recovery partition because I would prefer restoring it with Asus as they recommend me to. However, when I hit F9, their target to get there, it doesn't do anything and just reloads the boot screen, with the Asus logo on it. I don't have an actual Wndows recovery CD so that's not an option, and at this point since my hard drive has likely been wiped by these recovery DVDs, I don't think going into Ubuntu and fixing the MBR will do me much good anymore.It may be worth noting that before I last restarted, I marked the Windows partition as active because of a tutorial here, making it so that recovery partition isn't active anymore.

The main difference is the lack of ability to tinker with services (LISTSVC / ENABLE / DISABLE commands). A missed opportunity is the lack of registry tweaking, considering that REGEDIT can be run, but I think it only allows you to look at the registry for the recovery console rather than the main Windows installation, which doesn't help much (though I haven't tried to import/mount the registry file from the main Windows installation).
I am trying to delete the recovery drive and use all the c and recovery drive with windows 7. I do however want the Toshiba extras that come with it, well some of them. I also would like to use the windows experiance ratings.

DVD Tray opens and light comes on but does not play DVD. 1st USB port on left side gets - USB Device Not Recognized.One under it works and one on the right side works.OS Windows7 Ultimate. Also, in the activity there are Bytes sent and received, but I cannot connect to any webpage either with Chrome of Firefox I'm using McAfee Security Center. I tried turning off the firewall, but it still doesn't work.
I decided to do a system recovery for my laptop. I've already done a couple of experiments before and from what I remember the first time I done a system recovery, the partition where my personal files where saved did not get deleted.The only thing that was "system recovered" was the partition where the OS was located. Yesterday, I again decided to do a recovery but this time, the partition where I have my files got deleted and the space it had "returned" to the OS partition. Orignally, I shrunk the OS partition so that I can have space for my partition for my personal files.If it helps, I've done a "system recovery" but saw one of it has a "mini system recovery" option. What is the difference?

I have just installed on the last computer (the first two were installed a year or so ago) and I don't have the product key. I think I tossed it out as it was on a card IN THE BOX rather than a sticker on the end like every other frigin MS product I have seen. I must have saw the card and just tossed it out thinking it was just another ad trying to sell me something else. Seeing the sticker (but not looking close) just assumed it had the product key.

It was having alot of issues so short verision after several house with Dell support they told me I would have to tell the computer to go back to the factory version. I followed the steps told to me and now nothing works. When I turn the computer on I do get the Windows word to start then a flash of something that could be an error message of some sort but its not there long enough for me to be sure. I then get something about I need to run a repair, which I do but the repair doesnt work. I tried putting the original install disk in the same thing happens. I have been told to try getting the recovery partition to open but I dont know how. Does this sound right? If so how do I do that and if not what should I do.
