One is print to file which I don't know where that came from but every time I try to use it, it prints an "invalid file" after I enter the mile long output file name ending in .pdf.Using the other adobe pdf printer port I click print and it doesn't ask for a file name/location it just shuts down as if it printed to somewhere but I don't know where. Nov 12, 2009The printer works fine after the PC is rebooted or just turned on, but as soon as it returns from sleep I cannot print to the USB printer. I have the port set to "do not turn this device off" but none of those power settings for the USB hubs seem to work.
I had to use the Troubleshooter to allow the USB mouse/Keyboard to reinitialize after sleep, but the troubleshooter does not apply the same fix for the USP printer. Is there some way to do this manually?
I know MS is trying to remove options and configurations for the average PC user, but I've been working in IT for years now and there are a bunch of things that I would at least have the option of turning on/off but some features don't exist in Windows 7 (like UP button in My Computer).
Anyone have an idea how to make the printer work from sleep without having to unplug and re-plug the USB cord in? It's a PITA.

I downloaded the parallel card driver but not sure it installed. I read that win7 would auto detect it but neither ever displayed even after powering off and on.

Aug 25, 2011My computer has been running slow since we had all our files switched over from our old computer to our new one.It's an HP we got in December 2010. Programs run slow and whenever we turn the computer on from sleep mode,it usually takes 30 seconds or so to get anything requiring an internet connection to fully work. Disks won't open most of the time and I can't install anything. Whenever we try to scan our computer for viruses, it will end up telling us it couldn't finish the scan because it wasn't able to scan a certain file.

Example error message from Excel is "Your file could not be printed due to an error on Microsoft XPS Document writer". If I try the printer I get the exact same message. From Firefox I get "An unknown error occurred while printing." I have searched everywhere for a solution, I even restored as far back as I could but that was only a month ago. Sep 3, 2011I have TWO computers on a "home" network (Work group, NOT Win 7 Homegroup).Computer A is new and runs Windows 7 Home Premium. Computer B is "old" and runs Windows XP Professional. Computer A has two printers attached; Epson Stylus Photo R200 and a Lexmark X3690. Both of these printers work well with Computer AComputer B has an HP LaserJet printer on the parallel port LPT1. Computer A can print documents to the LaserJet on PC B as well as photos and documents to the Epson and Lexmark printers. Computer B can print to to the laserjet and the Lexmark BUT NOT the Epson.When I try to "add" the Epson to the printers on PC B there is a message that computer A does not have the correct driver for the printer. The same message occurred when I initially "added" the Lexmark to PC B, but I was able using the CD supplied with the Lexmark to located the 32bit driver and load it onto PC A.
I tried to do the same thing with the Epson but failed to find the driver on the CD. I have tried downloading a 32 bit Epson driver from the Epson site, (using compatability mode) but even after doing that I cannot add the Epson printer to Computer B - the same message that PC-A does not have the correct driver.
Printer At Work Prints Blank Pages When Computer Tries To Print
Jul 6, 2011My PC, running 64bit Windows 7 is printing blank pages on the work computer. I downloaded the necessary drivers needed to print from this computer to the printer, which is a CanonMX 340. The computer recognizes the printer and will print, but the pages that it prints are blank. The pages are blank whether I'm printing from the internet, a saved .jpg file or even a .pdf file. In order to connect to the printer, I plug in an ethernet cable, still nothing works.
