Asus Sabertooth p67 Mobo
Intel i7-2600k
Patriot G2 - 2x4gb 1600mhz ddr3 ram
Antec case
Kingston 64gb V+ SSD SNVP325-S2/64GB( to boot OS)
Samsung 1TB 7200RPM HDD (basically i want this as secondary to install files/programs etc)
First thing i did was install my OS on my SSD and then connected my HDD. I checked and saw that, in BIOS, my SATA was in ACHI.In boot up screen, it first shows "NO hard drive detected" and later it says that my HDD and SSD are recognized. Once fully in windows default screen. When i go to my computer i only see my SSD and not HDD.
not adjusting the speakers to lenevo system, may be that is system problem.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have installed windows 7 on many of these Lenovo G560's. They are standard from the factory. I had just setup this one particular laptop myself a couple months ago. Now the customer got "the problem" and upon attempting to wipe and reinstall win7 (the exact same OS/flavor, on the exact same hardware) now I receive the "error" saying windows setup cannot configure windows on this hardware.
it's like it gets most of the way thru the basic install, and the harddrive has all the basic files on it. But setup just cannot continue. I Know all about new hard drives, the 4k-thing, that has nothing to do with this, unless some virus is causing a "hardware" problem. Or maybe it is a bios issue? Bios corruption? I can't even reinstall / update bios unless windows is on it. And now I can't finish the win7 install. I have one of these lenovo's as my own laptop here/now typing this on. I don't have a problem reinstalling win7 on it.
I have tried installing from DVD, from a usb stick, from the hard drive itself (copying files to a partition on the hard drive) no go. I've tried changing BIOS settings for the hard drive from AHCI to "Compatible" (there are only these two options) and made no difference. Why (or What) the change? What causes this on standard hardware that normally would work? Is it probably broken hardware? (a bad drive controller?)
I have a Samsung R519 laptop, after installing windows 7 the dvd drive is not working. It is not shown in the device manager. Sometimes after a reboot it does appear in the device manager and I have tried to do the repair as stated on other forums, (remove upper and lower filters), but on all occasions there has been no upper or lower filters shown in the right hand panel. I know it is connected ok as I re-installed Vista and now have both OS and the dvd drive works ok in Vista.
View 5 Replies View Relatedeen running Windows since 3.0, and am fairly comfortable poking around with anything under the hood. I've just bought my first Windows 7 computer, and it has me scratching my head on a few issues. I've done a search of the forums, but had no luck with one specific issue.I'm running Home Premium, and I have My Admin account and 2 separate user accounts. I install all programs using the Admin account. Some programs, such as Office 2010 and Adobe Reader, installed easily with the programs listed under each user's "All Programs" area on the start menu. Other programs installed and showed up under Admin's "All Programs", but will not show up in the other users' "All Programs". None of these programs asked if I wanted to install for just the active user account or for all accounts, they just installed.
I can still run these programs by doing a search and executing, so I have access to them. I know I can create shortcuts or pin them to the taskbar, but I really don't like the clutter. How can get these programs to show up under "All Programs" for all users?
I work off a Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit laptop when at home remoting into a Server 2003 R2. On the laptop I have a Epson Workforce 545 networked which won't display when I connect to the RDC. On the Local Resources tab, I have selected printers, clipboard, drives and ports on the RDC properties. Everty thing else works fine and I can see a CutePDF printer that is installed locally when connected to the RD.
I've used this setup with success on an laptop running XP just by simply ticking Printers in the Local Resources tab but can't seem to get it work with Windows 7. Does it have something to do with the port the Epson is using? If I click on Configure Port it shows it as LPR Printing. Is that relevant?
I have a Windows 7 machine that stops recognizing the installed printers after printing a couple of files. If you reboot the machine, it will recognize the installed printers, but then stops seeing them after trying to print again.

'Intel (R) ICH10 Express Root Port 1-5 etc'
'Intel (R) ICH10 SMBus Controller -3A30'
'Intel (R) ICH10 LPC Interface Controller - 3A16'
And all of those related things are what the chip set driver update's? If I'm wrong please explain how I update those things. If I'm right then why would it say they were out of date when I've gone to the Intel site and used the driver detection feature and it says I'm up to date?

View 1 Replies View RelatedIn the last few days my Toshiba Satellite L745-S43210 hasn't been working right. Recently it won't boot up properly. It started to boot up and then it would freeze up seconds after showing my desktop. I managed to go into safe mode and use msconfig to change start up programs and turn it to only the essential items. After that it worked and I tried turning everything back on and it worked fine last night. I assumed it was just overheating from being used so much in the last few days. Now today when I tried starting it up I was able to enter my password but the screen went black with my mouse pointer working. I turned it off and tried again a few times before going into safe mode.
I went back into msconfig again and turned it back to only essential programs and I performed a virus scan with Super Anti-Spyware and Malware Bytes and the only thing that they found were cookies. I cleared them out and booted up windows again and it worked fine. Now I am trying to select only certain programs and choose only the Microsoft, Intel and Toshiba programs/services and now when I boot it up I don't even get the the text box to enter my password, it just shows the blue windows start up screen. Right now I am using Safe Mode With Networking to type this and try messing with start up programs again.

While I work on worksheets, I often save the files to the desktop for easy attachment to emails when I have completed my work. On two occasions now I have been saving the files to the desktop as I usually do but when I go to the desktop the files are not there. If I look in the desktop folder, they are there. Running 64 bt Windows 7 Professional and scan for Malware yielded no issues.
p.s. When I reboot the files do appear on the desktop ....
I did a search on this and could not find anything. Once in awhile my desktop will have a bunch of random files I deleted a long time ago. I always empty it too. There won't be anything in the recycle bin or on the desktop and then I'll go to look at it after awhile and some other group of files will be there. I have tried the whole "rd /s /q C:$Recycle.bin" on every drive on my computer. Windows is installed on C:. It isn't even the same group of files each time, it is just random files I've deleted over the past 2 months. I noticed a folder for a demo install of InDesign comes up a lot and says it is in use when I try to re-delete it, could Adobe's crap software be breaking it?
