Since install, I've had several explorer.exe crashes, and a few bluescreens.SFC /scannow came back clean. A basic memory test (windows internal test from boot) also came back clean. I've been having issues with several computers now. All of them Windows 7 Professional 32 bits. The error they're having is the same on each PC: explorer.exe fails and restarts after clicking Ok to the dialog.

I already ran viruschecks and spywarescans. Clean booted. sfc'd. Uninstalled all updates since the week previous to the first error. Created a fresh new profile for the user. Disabled all non-Microsoft shell extensions. Reinstalled Windows. and non on them had made a difference.
The oldest issue is november 6th (there's not a single instance of the error before that date); since then, the issue is happening at least once a day but more like 5-10 times a day. I ran Windbg and for almost all errors it points to "fundisc" module as the culprit, although i don't know what piece of software would be using it. The only updates they had installed are security and critical updates via WSUS.
I got this error message when i open my chrome browser "the application was unable to start correctly (0xc0000005)"

View 1 Replies View RelatedI performed a system update yesterday, and I realized afterwards that I was no longer able to play any videos online or any flash animations. This morning I decided to do a system restore, and upon completion I now find myself unable to load the login screen on my laptop. I get an error window that says:LogonUI.exe - System Error The program can't start because CRYPT32.dll is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix this issue. Now, I cannot go anywhere from here. If I click ok or close the window, it comes back up. If I try to access the safe modes, I still get that same error window.

I now have the following message in the bottom right of the desktop.Build 7601his copy of windows is not genuineI know the copy of windows is genuine, as it was pre-installed on laptop when purchased new circa 13 months ago.I have just also had a pop-up message in the middle of the screen, with warning triangles etc around it."You may be a victim of software counterfitting"Please follow the below link...........etc etcI've had a quick check on Google, and it appears i am not alone with this issueI would not describe my technological knowledge of P.C. workings as anything other than "entry level beginner"
View 2 Replies View RelatedWanna start off by saying sorry if someone has already resolved this problem on another thread but I have read many and haven't found a problem that exactly matches mine.Ok here goes, I have a Dell Inspiron 1764 running on Windows 7 64 bit. I've had problems with this pc for months in that it suddenly lost masses of disk space and because of this I couldn't update any programs or even renew my McAfee which I gAfter some investigative work with help online I found that my 'My Music' and 'My Pictures' folders were located on the C drive and taking up a lot of space so I relocated these onto the D drive. This seemed to solve the problem, the C drive was clearer and everything was working fine, security checked for viruses and all seemed to be in order.
That lasted for about 4 days and then yesterday the laptop randomly crashed and then restarted and it appeared to be ok, I continued using with no problems and switched off as normal. I tried to boot on again last night only for it to hang on the Starting Windows screen, didn't even reach log in. It went to a black screen and then something else came up and asked if I wanted to Start Normally or in Safe Mode, I chose Safe Mode.Nothing happened for a while and then it went into CHKDSK but sat at 3% for about 2 hours saying loads of files were unreadable, it finally got to 30% after 6 hours but by then it was 1 in the morning I had to manually turn the pc off.I tried again this morning and had the same error but it automatically goes into CHKDSK, after about 5hrs it got to 55% and then went back to the Starting Windows screen, black screen and the CHKDSK again, this has happened 3 times now.
I've tried pressing F8 & F12 when first booting up and I've also inserted the Windows Installation Disk but this won't run. I gave up and switched off again, went through the same process but when it got to CHKDSK I pressed to cancel the check but it just sat there for 25mins and then asked me to choose Safe Mode etc, I choose SM again and it started to load files and has been sat at Loading Windows Files for the last 15 mins.
I accidently dropped my laptop on to its side. I turned it on and i was on skype and google for a while until i tried to search for a file and it froze and the a window came up saying somthing about Windows crashing. I did the little error test thing and it told me that the file was un-fixable.I don't think getting the disc to make it return to the factory setting would do anything because its corrupted i think.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a WDC WD5000BEVT-75A0RT0 Laptop hardisk ,and just in recent times it gave me an error from Windows 7 and when I boot my laptop saying that S.M.A.R.T found an error, and backup your data immediately the HDD is going to fail. Now I am quite a power user, and understand computer's quite well, but my laptop is just a year old (out of my warranty period), now how can this happen? I don't rough use my laptop at all, I didn't notice any hardware failure problems related to the HDD no clicking noises,I think its more to do with the software ? I ran a chkdsk and everything came out normal for my drive C: which is the WD drive. What do I do next?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI was planning on doing some college work during the weekend, but when I went to switch my laptop on it wouldn't connect to my hub. I have Windows 7 and my network connection symbol in the bottom right corner had a yellow star over it saying there wasn't limited access and the connection was unsuccessful. After restarting my hub and laptop, then trying a neighbours hub it was still unsuccessful. I have used the troubleshoot settings and the response says I have either a problem with the driver for the Wireless Network Connection adapter, or the Local Area Connection adapter. I am unsure on what this means and how to fix it
View 2 Replies View RelatedI am trying to fix a laptop and keep running into problems. Originally the message was BOOTMGR not found and to restart. So I put in the Windows 7 disk to try a repair...and it didn't find an OS to select in the list. I ran a bunch of stuff and finally got an OS to show up but windows still would not start stating winload was missing or corrupt. This time when I went into the repair utility it found the OS and I ran the automated fix...but that didn't resolve the issue. So I tried bootrec /fixmbr and /fixboot. At first fixboot stated that it could not run. So I saw something around to make the manufacturer partition inactive and to run the command...did that and fixboot ran. However, now it does not find the OS again and I'm back to the BOOTMGR missing. Not even sure where to go now or try doing.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI tried to un-hibernate my laptop this morning (I tend to only hibernate it overnight if I know I'm going to be using it immediately the following morning) and it won't let me log in.
By this I mean that it takes at least 15 minutes of the cursor in the middle of a black screen before it gets to the Login screen. The first time this happened, I was able to Login, but after that, none of the icons loaded up, only the taskbar. After which, a message popped up saying "WinLogin.exe - Bad Login". At which point I manually restarted the computer (as the Start button wasn't working) and chose "Start Windows normally." Now I am at the point that whenever it gets to the Login screen, it immediately restarts, and thus goes into a loop. I stopped this loop by manually restarting again, and selecting safe mode, at which point I got the following error message:
"WerFault.exe Application Error The instruction at 0x000007FEFD6C283C referenced memory at 0x000007FEFD6C283C. The required data was not placed into memory because of an I/O error status of 0xc0000185. Click on OK to terminate the program." This was the only action I could take, so I did so. This immediately followed by an identical error message except with a different code, which began 0x000077....I was unable to see the rest because at that point the computer restarted.
Upon the next restart, I received a Blue Stop error message, which displayed for a few seconds before shutting down again. Key words I managed to see include: "There is an error with the program. The system was shut down to prevent damage to your computer. ...crucial thread issue...."
I literally have no idea what to do. If booting in Safe Mode has no effect, what can be done? I have also tried pressing F8 at the Dell startup screen (where it says to press F2 or F12 etc) but this just froze the machine!
I am running a 64 bit version of Windows 7 on a Dell Studio 1555 laptop.
have just bought a refurbished toshiba Satelite laptop from Curry's and after a few days it starting coming up with an 'error occurred during upgrade' message. It appears several times during the day. The laptop seems to be running okay otherwise, but it is annoying when it keeps popping up. I am running windows 7.

View 7 Replies View RelatedI am having more problems recently with my laptop crashing completely (no power to anything) while playing Flight Simulator X. This mostly occurs only when playing FSX but tonight i have noticed my machine getting super hot and shutting down unexpectantly. The Fans also begin to speed up prior to shutdown. I have set the computer to maximize performance, disable start up items, etc. After researching this It seems this may be more of a hardware issue than software.
