Facebook Partially And Frequently Blocked
Jul 28, 2012I would say 80% of the time I can't access Facebook. When I can I can only access it through https but whenever I click on a link that is just http it will timeout. Other times I can just not access it no matter what. This happens on all browsers. IE9, Chrome, FF, etc. All of them have the same results so this wouldn't be a browser issue. What I have done. My laptop which is a macbook has no issues when connecting through same network.
This would rule out router settings (which I double checked anyways). This should also rule out ISP blocking. I ran walwarebytes and ccleaner numerous of times and it didn't pick anything up. I checked hosts file which it isn't in there. I added *.facebook.com in trusted sites in control panel just for the attempt of running out of ideas. What else could I possibly check and why would it work sometimes through https but not http?

Other user account on this machine has no problem.Both accounts are now admin; this (problematic) account was not at first. There is no firewall running, MS or 3rd party. I have added this ftp url to the "trusted sites" in Internet properties. There was a McCaffee app on this account; I removed it 6 boot ups ago.Is this a Certificate issue or a broken firewall issue or a setting issue?

Jan 5, 2013A few of my programs are unable to communicate with their servers now and I can't figure out why as they were find two weeks ago and I haven't made any changes since then. The issue lies with a service/program within Windows as all the programs communicate fine in Safe Mode. Windows Firewall and ICS are both disabled within Services. Malwarebytes (my only AV right now) is disabled also.
I know this is an ongoing and repetitive subject but the numerous searches are all resulting in pointing fingers at an AV program, which I am sure is completely disabled.
Comodo Firewall - The Network Firewall Is Not Functioning Properly
Mar 4, 2009I've recently installed Windows 7 Ultimate x64 Beta Build 7000 and I have Comodo Firewall 3.8.65951.477 64-Bit installed as my firewall. I get this problem that I can't solve at all .
When I click on " Run Diagnostics" I have this :

PS : The Windows 7 Firewall is desactivated!
Anybody haves an idea on this problem, please ?

Jan 3, 2012Recently had a virus infection and noticed that the windows firewall service is missing. When trying to reset to recommended settings by using control panel received error code 0x80070424. Cannot access other computers or shared files/folders on home network. Saw a previous post dated 12-17 that appears to be the same problem.

Feb 10, 2013I am working on my daughter's Presario CQ 56-115DX Notebook running Windows 7. It has been running erratically and has a lot of junk on it and no anti virus. I have tried to install several free antivirus programs and also a Revo Uninstaller with both IE, Chrome and Firefox. All Downloads are blocked (or automatically "cancelled") including your TSG SysInfo. I turned off the Firewall but that didn't help. I also did a System Recovery back to 1-30-2013 to no avail.

Mar 7, 2011Recently, my Vuze, Moyea FLV downloader, and Amazon Unbox (just installed today) are unable to connect to the internet. I can't even complete the Unbox install because I get an error message every time I try to complete the setup. I've gone through my firewall and added allowances, tweaked settings, everything -- I even turned it off to see if the Unbox install would finish properly. It didn't. I still got the error message telling me that it couldn't connect to the internet. Did I break something in my logs? What's happened, here? Trillian and things like that work fine, it's just these certain programs.

I've tried creating rules for windows firewall that allow my programs to access the internet but it makes no difference. I know it's not my router or ISP because other computers in my house that use the same connection work fine.
