View 1 RepliesGoogle Chrome has been blocked by my computer, it brings up this message "This may be because your firewall or antivirus software wrongly thinks Google Chrome is an intruder on your computer and is blocking it from connecting to the Internet.
Try adding Google Chrome as a permitted program in your firewall or antivirus software's settings. If it is already a permitted program, try deleting it from the list of permitted programs and adding it again." I have tried what it said and I do not have an anti virus program but it still will not allow it to run
Im trying to run a program on Windows 7. The program is a logitech installer. But Windows 7 Program Compatibility Assistant blocks the program and prevent me from running it. I have tried disable the Program Compatibility Assistant service in the service manager and i have also enabled the "Turn off Program Compatibility Assistant" group policy. But windows still keep blocking the program.

View 1 Replies View RelatedThat's the message I get when I'm trying to install my Kaspersky anti-virus 2009 cd.
I used it on my windows vista 32bit without any issues. Now that I have windows 7 64 bit I'm getting that error message.
I checked Microsoft and kasperky's sites and they both say the program is compatible with windows 7 64 bit.
This also happens when I try to install BitDefender too.
Is there a way to make this work?
I recently have noticed that I cannot install any downloaded programs. For example, I've tried to install Avast Antivirus and Spotify programs I downloaded from the internet.
I can run other .exe programs that were previously installed like Chrome, Itunes, etc. but keep getting errors with the above .exe programs.
I have Windows 7, 64b, SP1
I am setting up a brand new laptop with Windows 7. I have not used Win 7 before. I have set up two user accounts, both "administrator" accounts. I have downloaded Google Chrome using one of those accounts, but when logged on as the second user, I cant see the Chrome shortcut, or find the program file. If I search for "chrome" or "chrome.exe", the result is "nothing found". Using File Explorer doesnt help, as that is not showing the program files under either user logon. I did not have this problem with Vista.

So I want to know if there is any program out there that allows you to track which computer downloads and how much it downloads from the internet. We have a main pc and a few laptops. So if there is any program that shows like IP or computer name or anything and shows how much they downloaded.

View 4 Replies View RelatedWhile attempting to download Btjunkie, I mistakenly downloaded a program called videograb, which is not what was stated on the website. Now I am unable to delete it. It has made unrequested changes to my computer. The instructions said to try this deletion in safe mode. When I restart the computer holding F8, as per the Windows instructions, I get what appears to be a list of system info, followed by 'press F10 to enter setup'. This starts os as usual. What happened to safe mode? I run Norton virus scan frequently, and have run Ccleaner to clean registry; this program was highly recommended by several people. I am running Win 7 os.

View 1 Replies View RelatedAfter becoming unable to download identified updates in Windows Update, and also being unable to search for new updates, I did a detailed scan with Microsoft Security Essentials which identified and removed some malware (Exploit:Java/CVE-2010-0840.IZ).
Since Windows Update still wouldn't work I restored my settings from last Friday with no improvement. Using Fix problems with Windows Update gets stuck on Fixing problem.
I then tried to do a reinstall as an update, but the installer was unable to find any updates (or rather it was forever* trying to locate any).
On a tip from a friend I looked in the hosts file but it was unaltered. *Forever is a relative term but in this case it's 90+ minutes.

View 7 Replies View RelatedI am working on my daughter's Presario CQ 56-115DX Notebook running Windows 7. It has been running erratically and has a lot of junk on it and no anti virus. I have tried to install several free antivirus programs and also a Revo Uninstaller with both IE, Chrome and Firefox. All Downloads are blocked (or automatically "cancelled") including your TSG SysInfo. I turned off the Firewall but that didn't help. I also did a System Recovery back to 1-30-2013 to no avail.
View 2 Replies View RelatedRecently, my Vuze, Moyea FLV downloader, and Amazon Unbox (just installed today) are unable to connect to the internet. I can't even complete the Unbox install because I get an error message every time I try to complete the setup. I've gone through my firewall and added allowances, tweaked settings, everything -- I even turned it off to see if the Unbox install would finish properly. It didn't. I still got the error message telling me that it couldn't connect to the internet. Did I break something in my logs? What's happened, here? Trillian and things like that work fine, it's just these certain programs.
View 9 Replies View RelatedWhen I try to run certain programs like Anki or Second Life that need access to the internet they're blocked with no message from windows, I've tried deactivating windows firewall and other security programs but I always get the same thing. I've tried creating rules for windows firewall that allow my programs to access the internet but it makes no difference. I know it's not my router or ISP because other computers in my house that use the same connection work fine.
