Icon Images Disappeared And When Click On Them They Come Up With Open With
May 18, 2012when I try to open a program It happend when I was associating a blank icon, one like in the photo, with the game it used to be, which I had re-downloaded but the icon showed as if the game was no longer on the computer. When I done this, all of the icons on the screen and on the 'start' screen when you go into 'all programs' turned to the game icon. I then deleted the game and restarted the computer as 'last known good configuration' or something like that and after it took an unusually long time to start up (about seven minutes), all the icons showed up as in the ones shown on the screen shot above.

Sep 22, 2012I am using Windows 7 together with Windows Live email, which has been working ok until of late.My internet provider is Yahoo and emails in there are ok, but I prefer Windows Live email however this will not work when downloading emails as an error message comes up saying the server is in error and one has to reapetedly click on receive emails until they are all downloaded,surely Windows email should work no matter who your provder is can someone enlight me as to why BT Yahoo fails with Windows live emails.

Oct 28, 2012I recently have noticed that I cannot install any downloaded programs. For example, I've tried to install Avast Antivirus and Spotify programs I downloaded from the internet.
I can run other .exe programs that were previously installed like Chrome, Itunes, etc. but keep getting errors with the above .exe programs.

Dec 20, 2011I am setting up a brand new laptop with Windows 7. I have not used Win 7 before. I have set up two user accounts, both "administrator" accounts. I have downloaded Google Chrome using one of those accounts, but when logged on as the second user, I cant see the Chrome shortcut, or find the program file. If I search for "chrome" or "chrome.exe", the result is "nothing found". Using File Explorer doesnt help, as that is not showing the program files under either user logon. I did not have this problem with Vista.

When I restart the computer holding F8, as per the Windows instructions, I get what appears to be a list of system info, followed by 'press F10 to enter setup'. This starts os as usual. And just an hour ago I started it up again just seeing if it would work, and it did. It started up and I was really happy. But I got a D-Link wireless network adapter that I connect to the tower because I can't get an Ethernet cable to reach up stairs, So I have to connect to my wi-fi. BUT when I click on "Connect to a network" nothing happens. I can't Set up a new connection or network, and when I click on the network icon on the bottom bar nothing happens. I do NOT have the Windows 7 Ultimate Repair DVD. So I can't use that.
