On the pc everytime a file is downloaded it is not able to run. Examples windows updates will not install adobe update gives an integrity error. This computer was just put on the Internet for the first time this week I'm thinking its an ISP error but if it's an issue within the computer what could be causing it. A disk check was ran and came up with no errors all cookies and temp files were deleted.
Is it possible for Internet Explorer 9 to automatically open a file for a given filetype/extension? Previous versions would do this. For example, every time I click a .PDF file to download, the yellow bar opens on the botton saying "Do you want to open or save xxx.pdf... from website.com". My .PDF are associated with Adobe Reader (Open With..always), yet it keeps asking to open it. Same thing with other file types like .ICA for citrix access, .docx for Office etc.
i have this crc error problem for like 1 month now. When i download archive type files with utorrent (or other clients) i get crc errors while downloading or after downloading when i try to extract the archives. This happens only to large files (3gb+). I used Memtest86 and got no errors, also used windows 7's test for memory errors and got no errors. When i checked my HDD for bad sectors i got 7 bad sectors (HD Tune).I changed my network cable,HDD cable...still the same problem. What can i do?Is it the HDD? Can i still use it?
I have downloaded IE9 and installed it. However, it will not display. I have tried the googled responses to the problem, but to no avail. I have redownloaded IE 9 at least 3 times. My profile shows 32bit, but I have a 64 bit.
I have downloaded photos from my cellphone that are listed as being JPEG files and I am not able to open them with any windows software I have. Windows Photo Viewer gives an error message saying the pic files cannot be opened because the software "can't support the file or needs updated". Photo Gallery says the pic files "may be unsupported, damaged or corrupted" and Paint says, file is "not a valid bitmap file" or the format is not currently supported. And then lastly, my 2007 Office Picture Manager gives no error message and displays only a simple red "X" in the middle of the screen.
having a total nightmare with my laptop, Ive had it for about a year and for some reason whenever I tried to download files/applications it would come up "curupt file", after a very long time trying to look for answers, i decided to save all my files and I used system restore and wiped everything off my laptop and restored the laptop to "factory settings".After doing this I tried to download firefox and then "invalid digital signature" poped up underneath the download, so i ran the file anyway and "curupt file" appeared.I tried downloading google chrome and the same thing happend, its happens to everything now that i try and download seems what I can do, also I was toled to try and download mulwarebytes, but everytime i try and download it the same things happens.
I have been trying to install JAVA on my PC, and when I go to Java.com and try to download the latest version, I get an error message - 'Downloaded File Is Corrupt'.The file is Java 7 Update 5.
So ive been getting the black screen with movable cursor lately and have tried many a methods to remove it i tried checking in my event log for something, and this is waht it said "The following boot-start or system-start driver(s) failed to load:dtsoftbus01" So what does this mean and how can i fix this?
I cant seem to save any file every time I download a program from the internet to my c drive (specifically under program file folder)- keep on prompting need permission from the administrator. I tried the cmd command still not working.
Every time i log on i get two errorsThey are most likely related, it doesn't seem to affect anything other than be very annoying, i installed windows only a few weeks ago and i already got problems T_T
I have a PC with windows vista installed. I recently bought windows 7 home premium and installed a fresh copy of it. Every time I download some software like Chrome, VLC, iTunes , it downloads fine, but when it has to install it gives strange errors. I have seen all kinds of errors.
E.g.: VLC gives NSIS error. Microsoft Security Essentials gives "File Corrupt Error". Got certificate invalid error for some other software. if I download zip files, they fail with CRC check.
Just to be sure it wasn't hardware issue, I installed vista as a second OS and that works fine. I am really uncertain what is causing the issue (seems network related though). I had an old router and just purchased a new linksys router. Other configurations are: Core 2 Quad, EVGA SLI ready motherboard, 4GB DDR2 ram, ASUS EN210 gphx card.
Whenever (about 50% of the time) I use a program that'll eventually pop up a SAVE/OPEN dialog box (file explorer?). This could be ADOBE, or IE8 when I want to save a picture, or anything that'll prompt me to open a file or save a file, whenever the file explorer comes up it'll start to lag, then hang and then not respond and I have to close and restart.
Is it a windows explorer or file explorer problem? It happens on several of the computers/laptops I have the RC installed on.
I have a 4GB ram drive and I am trying to set the paging file to it, but every time I restart it sends me an error message saying it doesn't have enough space, and it resets the paging file to my boot drive. whats confusing me is I know the ram drive has enough space.
Recently I have been receiving lots of File Permission Errors when saving documents.I have searched the internet endlessly and have still not found a solution.Sometimes, when I save from Word (2010) I get this error: Quote :Word cannot complete the save due to a file permission error.
I recently tried to open my already installed blackberry desktop software. Whe i do i get this message;Windows cannot find 'C:Program Files (x86)Research InMotionBlackberry DesktopRim.Desktop.exe'. Make sure you typed the name correctly, and then try again.I tried uninstalling< but I then get a 1316 error message and cannot complete the uninstall. as well I can not carry out the repair option, because i get the same 1316 error message.
I have a small network of six computers. Five of them run XP and I just added a Windows 7 machine. I've got a Microsoft Access 2003 database that all of the computers share that is hosted on one of the XP machines. The Windows 7 machine can access the Access database through the network just fine, as long as no one else is accessing it. However, if someone else on an XP machine on the network is using the file, it won't open on the Windows 7 machine. Doubling clicking the file on Windows 7 gives me the circling blue icon for a second or two, then nothing happens. If the XP user exits the database, then I can open it fine.
I've been having a lot of BSOD's since i installed my new graphics card. I thought it was the graphics card itself, so i exchanged it for a new one - the problem still persists. I also uninstalled all the drivers, and try'd new ones. I even try'd some of there BETA drivers - still nothing.Who crashed says it's a driver issue, so i'm guessing that's what it is. Considering I've run several diagnostic tools to see if my hardware was the issue.
3 - Windows 7 Machines (Enterprise & Ultimate) , Tried wire and wireless 1 - Windows 8 64-bit machine 2 New Macbooks (Air and Pro) 1 Mac Mini server (2011 model) - 3TB external HD formatted in OS Journal (default mac) with samba sharing enabled
The macbook's we have connect and transfer large amounts of files just fine to the mac mini. No issues at all, even on wireless. The issue is when trying to transfer files from the Windows machines to the mac mini. You select just one 150mb file to copy over, and it might fail at 30mb or 120mb transferring giving an error like file or path is not available. However you can hit retry a few times and it might continue or restart, sometimes you have to cancel and copy the file over again. It acts like it loses the path, but you can instantly navigate to the server again instantly like there was never an issue. If you select a bunch files to transfer, lets just say like 2000 files, and its a total of 4gb. You will have to hope the retry works when the error happens or click skip and redo the file after. Nothing stands out that is causing this, but it is either an issue with the Mac & Samba transfer, router setting, or a Windows setting / registry issue causing it.I tried to search google, but most things that come up are how to setup sharing from mac to windows. Can't exactly find anyone else talking about this, except I did find 1 thread on Mac Rumors forums talking about it but it just had 2 people say they have the same issue, and 1 person said he had no issues.
I have been using Windows 7 for quite some while (2 or more weeks) on this new PC. Now...problem is, Task Manager shows a massive page-file usage. 1.40 GB used as soon as my PC starts (without loading any programs). I have 4 GB RAM, out of which, 3305 MB is usable (Microsoft licensing issues keep messing around with 32-bit Windows), and the page-file usage slowly gets to around 3 GB. I have 4 partitions on my 1 TB HDD, and I had 2-4 GB page-file on each. I disabled the page-files on all the partitions, but TM still shows a massive usage of 2.5 GB as I am writing this article. I mean, there's 4 GB RAM, and even without running any programs, it's still around 1.40 GB page-file usage.
I disabled Superfetch and the page-file on all the drives, now Windows is giving me out-of-memory errors. The only things open are Google Chrome, Windows Live Messenger, mIRC, Windows Media Player, Task Manager, Yahoo Messenger and Bit-Torrent, and none eat memory. TM is showing 710 MB RAM available out of 3304 MB, and 70 MB free. IDK what is using the RAM and causing this big a page-file usage. My PC is gone very slow, and it sucks. Any way to reduce this much disk-activity, and actually use the RAM? Nothing in the TM shows active (CPU is always at 0-5 %), so nothing is eating memory. What's causing this much RAM and page-file usage?
I am thoroughly stumped on this one. I have a user with a brand new, freshly installed computer running Windows 7 (Prof, 64bit) and Office Pro 2010 (32bit). The computer is connected to a Win2008 Active Directory with roaming profiles.
When the user downloads a report in .doc format on this computer, every table has a very odd bit of what appears to be scripting code of some type. Here is a sample:
Here is the kicker - if the user goes to another computer and downloads the .doc file, the code block is not there if another user logs onto HER computer and downloads the .doc file, the code block is not there which tells me that the problem is NOT in the document itself, nor is there something wrong with the Office install on her computer.
Whenever i take a file and put it onto the my desktop, all the permissions to the file is completely stripped. Leaving none able to open the file.I am able to go into access control and add myself again, but it makes no sense at all..
I had an unusual happening on my PC. First noticed some instability while trying to open a file from Explorer, could not scroll down to file and it was jittery. Then, every time I tried to enter on an input line, an endless string of zeros were input and I could not overide or erase. Even on Email addressees. I tried a reboot and the zeros appeared on the start up password line and I could not logon. Same thing after complete power cycle. I suspected a stuck key on the keyboard and tried a different keyboard but no help. So I tried a complete restore. At first, it seemed to have the same problem, but somehow, eventually, I got logged on and now everything seems OK. But I don't really know what caused this and fear it could happen again.
All of a sudden my computer after 1 hour freezes and crashes completely.I get a black screen of death with error code 0xc000000e Recovery Screen After i hit enter i got another message saying Your PC needs to be repaired. The application or operating system couldnt be loaded because a required file is missing or contains errors. File: Windowssystem32winload.exe Error code: 0cx000000e After the error happens and I restart, the main hard drive will not show up and I have to restart again for it to show up.SO i just went ahead and formatted the PC and reinstalled windows 7 from scratch. After an hour or less the same thing happened again and also when I reboot the computer asks me to choose which windows 7 I want to log into. Why is this showing up if I formatted the disc completely (Deleted and created New disc while i was reinstalling windows 7)My main drive is a Crucial m4 SDD 2.5 128GB Sata I have 4 other drives with over 2tb each but i use this for files. Windows is installed on just the crucial HD?
if i go to the start button to go to my computer the window will open on the first try , but say i try to go to my computer again it will just sit there and not open. the exployer window will open but not the contents inside.does not care how many times i try it will only open the window and show nothing inside , a bar will go across the top to show progress but still it will not open.if i restart the computer i can open up the my computer or just computer in W7.like right now i tried to open up the window to check my hard drive and im still waiting for it to open.this goes on on both of my computers running windows 7.all coms are updated to the fullest and im not overclocking or doing anything other normal stuff. So is there a bug or somthing that im missing , once again if i go to start , and hit computer the window will open on the first try , but if i do it to many times it will just open a window and just sit there.even further if i open it up and try to open a file it will just hang there and not open , there is no error warning or nothing.
