I recently downloaded several free audio books to my computer and they are listed in my downloads. Can someone kindly explain what I need to do to install them correctly from here so they can be heard, and importantly, stopped and started where the speaker or chapter ends. I have Win7 Pro installed. TC.

View 1 Replies View Relatedwhen I download a photo or image, or even capture a screen shot and save it to a folder, I cannot see it in that folder. I originally thought i had not hit save properly or not saved a file that I thought I had - but when i tried to re download an image or capture it again and name it the same thing - I got a message saying there was already a file by that name in the folder.
I have tried ensuring all hidden files are shown, and refreshed the window to no avail. but when i restart the computer, I am able to see the files in the folder as the should have been displayed all along. also confusing - when i look in the folder after saving...say if I've saved 12 images into the folder from the net or screen capture, but the folder is only displaying 1 image - it was say the folder only contains one image...
how can i fix this so i do not need to reboot every time i want to see newly created images?
well I just got a new computer today running windows 7 and I started having a problem almost immediately. When I run most downloaded files (like flash installer) I get a pop up LINK: [URL]

View 4 Replies View RelatedI am trying to play a game called Tribes: Ascend, which I downloaded from Steam. Unfortunately, it will not run. Earlier today, I deleted some files, including .dll files, to make space for the game (the files seemed useless). I probably shouldn't have done this. First, it popped up with an error that days I was missing a .dll file that was required to play the game, which I think I have fixed. Now, an error pops up saying: "The application was unable to start correctly (0xc0000022). Click OK to close the application." How can I fix this problem?

View 5 Replies View RelatedI recently have noticed that I cannot install any downloaded programs. For example, I've tried to install Avast Antivirus and Spotify programs I downloaded from the internet.
I can run other .exe programs that were previously installed like Chrome, Itunes, etc. but keep getting errors with the above .exe programs.
I have Windows 7, 64b, SP1
My problem is that when I download files, the download proceeds normally, but the file is never saved on the specified destination regardless of the chosen destination. It doesn't give any error, the download window simply closes. If I instead of choosing "save" select "run" nothing happens after the download is complete. I have tried to reset my internet settings and I am not using a download manager. I am using Explorer 8 and since I can't download files I can't try with Firefox or Chrome. I have also tried to use "Windows Update" to see whether that helps, but this function gives an error message saying that the service is not running.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI am using IE9 Browser on a Windows 7 Professional Platform. I would like to enable IE9 to open up a downloaded file (in this case .doc / .docx ) file directly without asking me if I want to Run / Save / Cancell the download.
(As an example : I have a word document on a website. When I click on the link for the word document I want it to open up directly in Word 2007. Without any prompts coming from the IE 9 Browser about saving or opening the file).
I have downloaded IE9 and installed it. However, it will not display. I have tried the googled responses to the problem, but to no avail. I have redownloaded IE 9 at least 3 times. My profile shows 32bit, but I have a 64 bit.

View 1 Replies View RelatedIm downloading files to my desktop, but the only way i can access them is going to open containing folder option from the download box (firefox), which just takes me to the desktop folder. if i navigate to the desktop folder manually, they cant be found. nor do they come up in a search. this just started happening hours ago, so unless something out of my control made these files hidden all of the sudden, im not sure what is going on.i have downloaded different file types from different websites, so its not just a problem from one site or file type.

View 5 Replies View RelatedEvery time I download something from Internet Explorer for like 2 MB or more it turns out to be either corrupted or unfunctional after download.
At first when I download a file the browser scans it and tells me its unsafe and wont open even though I know it isnt because I have used it many times before on my previous computers, but I tried downloading the same file again and it said it was unsafe BUT I was able to run it either way, after downloading that file it seems to bug up at Install in some point, I have no idea what is causing this so I turned my Laptop back to Factory mode but im still having this problem, Tried to turn it back to Factory mode again, still nothing.
I am setting up a brand new laptop with Windows 7. I have not used Win 7 before. I have set up two user accounts, both "administrator" accounts. I have downloaded Google Chrome using one of those accounts, but when logged on as the second user, I cant see the Chrome shortcut, or find the program file. If I search for "chrome" or "chrome.exe", the result is "nothing found". Using File Explorer doesnt help, as that is not showing the program files under either user logon. I did not have this problem with Vista.
View 4 Replies View RelatedIs it possible for Internet Explorer 9 to automatically open a file for a given filetype/extension? Previous versions would do this. For example, every time I click a .PDF file to download, the yellow bar opens on the botton saying "Do you want to open or save xxx.pdf... from website.com". My .PDF are associated with Adobe Reader (Open With..always), yet it keeps asking to open it. Same thing with other file types like .ICA for citrix access, .docx for Office etc.
