Errorcode: 0x8007000D Description, The Data Is Invalid
Apr 16, 2009
I've recently upgraded to windows 7, and everything is running smooth and nicer than vista, but i'm been getting this notification that when windows is trying to activate, it can't. I got an activation key and everything form Microsoft for it, but i don't know what the problem is. For now its not causing any trouble, but i wonder if it will later on or not adn if i can fix it somehow?

I have spent two days on the web reading everything I can find on this subject and have tried many of the suggestions but simply cannot get this update to install. I even went to restore back to before downloading the two XP mode files. Virtual Machine is enabled in BIOS and the MS tool verifies that. The event viewer has many red errors and some of them say ....Windows update could not be installed because of error 2147942413 "The data is invalid." (Command line: ""C:Windowssystem32wusa.exe" "C:Windows6.1-KB958559-x64-RefreshPkg.msu" ")I am running Win 7 Pro 64 bit with SP1 and all updates since 1-1-11. The Mobo is ASUS M5A88-M with AMD FX-4100 and 8Gb RAM. So far this is the only problem I have been having with software and the PC was put together last weekend.

I have an Oki B4350 printer that doesn't like to work under Windows 7, either 32 bit or 64 bit, but it works perfectly under Vista. Everything I try to print something, the printer just says "invalid data" And refuses to print anything. I've tried looking but the official site has no drivers that I can use, as it says that the drivers come with the OS.

"Error code: 0x80070035 The network path was not found" when trying to access any network shared drives. Our file server is a windows server 2003 standard edition. This problem occured yesterday on my laptop with OS windows 7 pro. I cannot access any shared folders, shared drives. I cannot access my own laptops shared folders. I can see the device on the network and can connect to my laptop and access files on my laptop from other pc's. I have checked all the services required and they are started, netbios over tcp/ip is enabled, network discovery is turned on, windows firewall is turned off and also tried disabling the antivirus on the laptop but none worked. Also tried the system restore, which did not allow me to log back into the domain giving error " Trust relationship between this workstation and primary domain failed". So had to undo the system restore.

After doing some Googling I discovered that it is impossible in Windows 7 to sort files by file extension -- one can only sort by file type, which depends on the file type description. This means that if I want to sort by file type, I need to rename the type descriptions of all my most commonly used files.
In addition, the only place where I can see a file's extension is in the file name itself, and not e.g. in the status bar when a file is selected. In Windows 7, the file type description (not the file extension) is also in the status bar.
In other words, in Windows 7 all files labelled e.g. "Opera Web Document" are sorted as if they have the same file type, regardless of whether they are .html, .htm, .mht, etc. And if I select a file and look at the status bar, the file's type is indicated as "Opera Web Document", without any clue as to the file extension. The only way for me to see the file extension is to increase the width of the "Name" column until the end of the file name becomes visible.
So... my question is:
Is there an easy way to simply rename the file type descriptions? I see that my JPG files are named "JPG File" and my PNG files are named "PNG" file, which is extremely useful. What I now want is to rename my HTML, HTM and MHT files' file types to "HTML File", "HTM File" and "MHT File", and the same would apply to all file types I often use (e.g. DOC, DOCX, XLS, XML, TXT, etc).

So I've been using my 64GB ssd as my windows 7 boot drive and i have a 1TB hdd as my data drive. Recently the my computer has begun to freeze up with errors like "explorer.exe" has stopped responding or "windows" has stopped responding and half of the time when i try to boot it says it cant find windows. This has lead me to believe that my ssd is dying despite being only a year old. I need to RMA my ssd but to do that i would be losing my boot drive for weeks. So I thought id try to create a system image so that i can simply put my boot drive on my hdd, but when i try to create the image it says that the image would be 711GB because its including all of my hdd (which contains all my user libraries and downloads). My question is: how do I make windows stop thinking that my hdd is a system drive so that I can create a reasonably sized image, or more generally: how can i easily move my boot drive to my hdd? Also, I've read some posts about using "easyBCD" to accomplish the latter but I'm not sure that's exactly what i need in this situation.

I have windows xp pro x86, I just installed windows 7 ultimite x64 as a dual boot on the same partition.
Windows 7 works great.
when I boot up, if i choose xp, error says
"windows will not start because system32/ntoskrnl.exe"
"invalid boot.ini"
"windows could not starte because the following file is missing or invalid windows root system32 ntoskrnl.exe
I did some reading and some places say to put in my xp disk, start up with r for recovery and type bootcfg /list bootcfg/ rebuild
Although I am scared of messing up the windows 7
Someone else told me just to put my winxp disc in and do a repair..

forum i have a question. I have a kingston 30 gb ssd i use as my windows drive, and a 750 gb wd hdd for data/game storage. I have heard that you can ghost a file on the data drive into the x86 folder so that all new installs go there and then you still recieve most of the benefits of your ssd w/o clogging it up. I have an amd based system (dont know if that matters or not)

I have a Windows 7 laptop, it has two network connections - one that I use at work; it is a hard wired connection (by DHCP - where the server automatically assigns an I.P. address), and the other wi-fi; which I use at home (again by DHCP where my modem / router assigns an I.P. address).
Recently I performed a Windows update (whilst at home - connected to my wi-fi network) and now when I take my laptop to work I am unable to connect to the internet. The Windows (2000) server knows that my computer is there, and I can access network shares, however I can't browse the web.
I had a look at my network settings by "ipconfig /all" and discovered that my "hard wired" connection is being supplied an invalid Gateway I.P.
Other computer on the network are not receiving an invalid Gateway.
As a temporary fix I have entered a static IP, however I am wondering if anybody knows what may cause my laptop to be assigned an incorrect Gateway IP, particularly when other computers on the work network are not experiencing this issue.

I have a Gateway FX6801-05 which originally had Wiindows Vista installed. I purchased a complete Windows 7 ultimate (not upgrade, not OEM) from eBay. I wiped the disk then installed and verified it without a hitch. Automatic updates has been working fine.Yesterday I changed some things around on my motherboard. When I booted Windows 7 Ultimate, which has been installed on my computer for several years now, it reported that my copy of Windows was invalid. Apparently the motherboard remembered the OEM Vista product number. I tried reauthorization both on the web and by phone using my new product key of Windows 7. The phone reauthorization doesn't even allow me to talk with a support person.Did I really buy an unauthorized Windows 7 ultimate, or is something weird going on here because VISTA OEM was originally installed on this computer?

So, I've recently been getting this "The Windows 7 Home premium product key is invalid for activation" I wasn't getting this the first two weeks after I re-installed my Windows 7 home premium, so I assumed everything was fine. Then, I started to get this... I don't see why the key would be invalid, it's the key that's on the bottom of my laptop, and yes before anyone asks, my windows os before was windows 7 home premium 64 bit, like the one I have installed now.

I've got an old computer that is running Windows XP that I've decided to upgrade to Windows 7. After a bit of trouble, I managed to get through the installation process. At least I think I've got through the installation process - the problem starts soon after the bit where you have to name the computer. Soon after, the computer has to restart, but when it does there are some strange noises from the computer and an error flashes onto the screen for a second:Invalid BOOT.INI fileBooting from C:\windows\And then the screen just goes black. I had to boot it up using the Windows 7 CD again and I tried going on repair installation. It checked, tried and failed to repair. Under details it said "A recent driver installation or upgrade may be preventing the system from starting".I haven't added any new hardware during the installation process - all that was connected was the keyboard, USB mouse, monitor and power cable.

Well, I started to update and as soon as I clicked start, I went back to drawing.30 seconds later, with no warning whatsoever, My computer was closing all my programs, and restarted itself with out a prompt. However, when it did reboot, I got a message saying Invalid Partition Table. So, i was like wtf, like any person. I tried rebooting and going into safe mode. It wouldn't let me. AT ALL. The f8 function does not work. actually the only functions that do work is f2 for setup and f12 for boot options

I am running a small network at my house, and I have a Win2003 server that seems to have problems. It doesn't boot anymore. One suggestion was to take the hard disk, connect it to another computer and work on it. Ok, so I did that. Took the HD from the 2003 machine, got a connection kit for USB and connected it to my Win7/64 notbook. Of course, that blew up my notebook-When I connected the HD, the laptop froze. Obviously, I had not choice but to remove the external hard drive and reboot. The reboot now ends up in a single line: Invalid Partition Table.I have tried the system Recovery Options on the DVD, but the automatic options don't work. So I need to find another way to restore the partition table.
