View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a copy of the game Hang Sim, and would like the play it on my Windows 7 PC. I am able to launch the game, get to the main menu, select aircraft, then start. After it completes loading, I receive a black screen for about a second, and the game completely closes. I have tried setting the affinities, compatibility mode, etc.

View 0 Replies View RelatedOn my computer I have 3 primary partitions:
1. "System reserve" which contains e.g.the Bootmamanger and MBR
2. First Win 7 installation ("main")
3. Second Win 7 installation ("reserve")
When I boot now at first the Bootmanager on the first primary partition is called/started which in turn starts the boot menu. In the boot menu there are currently two entries:
Windows 7
Windows 7
So I cannot distinguish between the "main" and the "reserve" Win 7 installation. How exactly can I modify/rename the two "Windows 7" entries in boot menu? After selecting and booting the actual Windows 7 installation the other Windows 7 installation is visible as a separate partition in WinExplorer:
C: Running Windows 7
D: DVD drive
E: Other (non-booted) Windows 7
How can I automatically hide the other Windows 7 installation? The drive E: should be available e.g. for USB sticks or network drives.
When I pin a shortcut to the Start menu (from the installation directory in Explorer) and try to abbreviate the name, a figure in parentheses "(2)" appears after the name. The message that "There is already a file with the same name in this location." Technically, however, this is not true. For example, "Audacity.exe" is not "Audacity (2)." I have configured my system to show all files.
I looked in the app's installation directory and also in the subfolders, under All Users's and also under my usernameAppDataRoaming, etc.
How to Remove and Restore the Default Windows 7 New Context Menu Items ?
View 0 Replies View RelatedI need to know if is possible to add a custom entry to shutdown menu, that's in the Start Menu.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI know that the full version can be achieved while holding the shift key, but is there way to bypass that and have the regular full sized menu by default?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a rather cluttered "new" context menu. Ie. when right clicking on my desktop I can choose "new" and choose "text document", "word document" etc.
Problem is that the menu includes lots of stuff I don't want to. In XP I could easily edit these items with MS TweakUI, but I haven't figured out how to do it in Windows 7.
1. When I open Start Menu and right-click some icon on "program or open recent program" the menu context don't show "fixed on the taskbar".
2. When I right-click on "open recent program" icon on Star Menu I can't delete from list.
i have two operating systems on my PC, i need to edit the name and time delay for selection.please tell me how can i edit it for Windows 7
View 3 Replies View RelatedOkay, I'm not sure if this can be done as easily as I'm hoping. What I'm wanting to do is move already existing context menu items into a cascading context menu to organize and reduce clutter. For instance, I would have a cascading menu named "Scan with" and inside it would be avast! Internet Security and Malwarebytes Anti-Malware.On a side note, does anyone know how to remove the following context menu items?Computer- Show on DesktopControl Panel- Show on DesktopImages- Set as desktopbackground- Print Rotate clockwise- Rotate counterclockwiseMusic/Videos- Add to Windows Media Player List
View 2 Replies View RelatedJust having a tidy up and "optimisation" session...was wondering how easy it would be to make a sub menu to put similar items in.
For example I have microsoft security essentials and malwarebytes context menu entries. How can I put them into one sub menu so they only take up one slot on the main context menu?

I unfortunately used Perfect Uninstaller to remove SQL Server 2008 R2 and Visual Studio 2010. After reading the forum I know it was a mistake to use this as it probably infected me.I used Avast to locate the viruses on my HD and then removed them with their program. So, then I tried to re install the SQL Server and it installs successfully but when you go to the start menu, then click to expand the folder it says (empty) under the folderI also re installed Visual Studio 2010 which also completed successfully and when you click on that folder in the start menu, there are items there but they are shortcuts that look like documents (have the document icon), and you cant launch Visual Studio.I so do not want to reformat my hard drive for this to work.
I also ran the unhidefolders.exe from this site but it did not correct the problem.
Any one have any ideas how to fix this? These are the only two programs that are like this on my start menu, the others are fine and work correctly.
I can't seem to find the way to customize the Menu Bar, the one right above the Command bar. When I right-click on it, it gives me only the "lock the toolbar" option. It has the usual suspect buttons now, "File, "Edit", "View" etc, but I want to add Cut, Copy, Paste, Delete etc.
This was a 30 second process on Win XP
I have Windows 7 and XP installed on separate partitions of one drive. I also had a 2nd hard drive, for backing up data, which I think has died so I disconnected it. This machine used to automatically boot into Windows 7, but now it goes to XP. There was nothing installed onto the 2nd drive so I have no idea why disconnecting that would change anything. I've checked, and the Windows 7 files are still available on the working hard drive.Previously, if I wanted to boot into XP instead of 7, I would go into the BIOS and change the boot order of the 2 hard drives, and then it would automatically boot into the other OS.One other thing I remember, is that when I had the Windows 7 loaded up, it showed the Windows 7 partition as being the C drive. When I have XP turned on, it shows the Windows 7 partition as being D drive and XP as being in the C drive.
View 2 Replies View RelatedBasically I'm trying to do an install on a partition.
1. I tried using a DVD to install Windows 7 and it would go through "Windows is Loading Files" and then the "Starting Windows" icon appears.
2. After that the install menu is suppose to show, instead the background appears along with the mouse but the menu doesn't.
3. I thought maybe it was a problem with the file or disc. So I tried using another file of Windows 7, and I tried using another disc but still stuck at the same spot.
4. Next I tried to install off a flash drive and still same thing happens, the install menu won't appear.
I'm not sure if it's called install menu but basically it's the screen where you select "install now"
I had installed Mint Linus as a dual boot through ML to try. After carefully removing it per instructions, when I boot I get the Windows Boot Manager, which I never had and don't need as I only have Win 7. How do I get rid of it (extra boot time).

View 1 Replies View RelatedI recently installed Windows 7 from a USB drive (16GB) instead of the disc. One of the issues I've encountered after was that in my Win7 boot up, I'm taken to the boot selection menu, which is usually reserved for multi-booting, or crash recovery. The options shown are...- Windows 7 Ultimate- Windows EMS Setupand towards the bottom of the screen some type of diagnostic option. I can't remember off the top of my head.Is there any way I can remove the setup option from this menu? I would like to boot straight into Windows without timing out, or having to select it manually.
