Mar 6, 2011I use two powerplans and have created a shortcut/icon for each. Is it possible to create a single icon that will toggle between the two plans?I also have an open dvd door icon and a close dvd door icon that I would like to reduce to a single button/ion/shortcut operation. I am guessing the solution for one is the same/similar as the other? Currently, I have a shortcut/icon for 1. & 2. of the following that I would like to to have just one shortcut/icon or 'key' that toggles between the two :

Wireless Network Disappears From A Single Computer?
Nov 26, 2011I have a variety of wireless internet enabled devices in my house running Windows 7, Ubuntu, iPod Touch, and Android. All of them function perfectly fine connecting to my Verizon Fios all-in-one modem/router, except one. One of my Windows 7 desktop PC's can usually connect just fine, but occasionally, it decides that there is no wireless network to connect to. Randomly, the list of available networks, just blanks out, and I get the icon of the signal bars with a red X through them. When I AM connected, the connection is full, strong, and reliable.
There seems to be no rhyme or reason to when it goes away, except that it almost always seems to happen while I'm using it. I very rarely sit down to my computer to find it disconnected. Sometimes it will be off for a minute, sometimes an hour.
I have tried everything from DNS flushes to registry hacks and card drivers. I am pretty sure I have the most updated drivers for my card, and I have swapped wireless cards with other computers and the other ones work fine with this card, and it's still this PC that doesnt do so well. I do run bittorrent on the computer sometimes, but the outages do not always coincide with large downloads, or any downloads, but I have not ruled that out as a possibility.

Aug 25, 2012I have just set up a new ASUS zenbook prime. I set up the wireless network 2 nights ago and had no problems. I then installed Microsoft Office 2010 and the problems started. I started getting errors about ATK0100 driver missing and the wireless function stopped working. I re-installed the ATK0100 driver and that stoppped that error message. I then thought that the wireless adapter may have also been affected by the Offce install so I removed then re-installed that one (Intel Centrino(R) Advanced-N 6235). I also unistalled Office but still hasn't fixed the problem. I can connect via a 4G USB wireless adapter but can't connect to my home wireless modem. I have 2 other laptops (windows7 and vista) accessing the wireless modem. When I try to connect the error is "no network access"" and "Windows was unable to connect to "SSID"". I have tried removing the wireless network and adding it again but to no avail. I have also used the troubleshooter but it can't find anything wrong either. The wireless function is on and I'm not sure what else to try? I have trawled through lots of forums and it seems like quite a few people have the same problem but I haven't yet found an answer.

Over time our school SSID is pushed lower and lower, so when a user brings in their school issued laptop, the laptop tries looking for the SSID's that are first in line as their cached profile is logging in. Thus, our Proxy Server doesnt authenticate them, therefore they dont get internet access. I need to keep our school SSID on top. We are using Server 2008 R2 with Windows 7 and a handful of XP's and Active Directory.

Aug 13, 2011I have a home network that has been set up on a modem with internal router for ethernet ports and wifi. When computers connected to the modem via ethernet cables, they can easily discover each other through the 'network' icon. But when I connect my laptop to the network's wifi, only the desktop computer can see the laptop in 'network' and not the other way. The laptop can't see any computers. When I tried to connect/open the laptop through the computer, error code 0x80070035 network path not found came up.I tried pinging the computers (both with ip address and name), and heres what happened:-when I ping desktop to laptop, it didn't work-when I ping laptop to desktop, there was response. Then the desktop showed up on the laptop's 'network', and I can view/transfer shared files. desktop can also connect/open the laptop's shared files. Pinging from desktop to laptop also works.I've checked things like firewall, make computer discoverable in network, services. They all make no difference to the situation. Where unless if I ping the desktop from my laptop, the desktop won't show up and file sharing won't work.

Sep 15, 2011I have a Desktop PC and a netbook. They are in the same room and so is my router. My router is a 2Wire from AT&T. All these devices support wireless G. My file transfer speeds from my desktop to laptop is going at a dismal rate of around 800KB/s. I am connected to my router at 54Mbps with my WiFi cards on both the systems. I am trying to figure out where this bottleneck is and try and speed this up.
-I am in an apartment building. There is least interference on channel 11 so I have set my router to use channel 11.
-The router is set to work at either B or G but I know I'm definitely connected by G on both the computers since I'm connected at 54Mbps.
-I have full WiFi signal on both computers and there is hardly any interference in my apartment that I am aware of. My internet bandwith is perfectly fine.
-Transfer rates between these two computers through a LAN connection is blazing fast. Its connected at 1Gbps and transfer rates are around 100MB/s
-If I connect the desktop and netbook in the Ad Hoc mode, I get a pretty steady 2MB/s
-In the registry, I have set the NetworkThrottlingIndex to FFFFFFFF hex (so throttling is essentially turned off) but that makes no difference.

The most logical choice therefore would be to look under Network for a menu option to do this. Nope.... Not there either.
I found out how to do it. It may be easy, but not if you cannot find it. Users should not have to search that hard to find an answer.

Create A Homegroup On JUST Hamachi Network
Mar 9, 2009I created a VPN using Hamachi, it's listed as a second connection, I set it as a "Home" connection.
Problem is, the computer I'm trying to connect to is both on my local, and Hamachi network.
I decided, OK I'll just create a Homegroup on my Hamachi network!
I went to create it, but it appears it created a Homegroup within both networks?
I'm really confused here, I want to create a Homegroup on JUST the Hamachi network right now, but when I go to create one, it's listed on both.
Will I still be able to use Homegroups with Hamachi even outside the local server, because it's a VPN?
