Ok I just noticed that I have 2 yes 2 of the exact same SSID and I have checked my other PC's and the only one that is showing this is my Asus Laptop?I have uploaded a PNG of the SSID's that I see the WNR1000v3 2 is the Duplicate the original is the WNR1000v3,I have the SSID broadcast disabled so I dought anyone could crack it and get past my password.

Over time our school SSID is pushed lower and lower, so when a user brings in their school issued laptop, the laptop tries looking for the SSID's that are first in line as their cached profile is logging in. Thus, our Proxy Server doesnt authenticate them, therefore they dont get internet access. I need to keep our school SSID on top. We are using Server 2008 R2 with Windows 7 and a handful of XP's and Active Directory.

If it says ssid (4) than I will have problems connecting to internet and other computers on my network, but if it says ssid (2) than I have no problems. The question I have is how to keep my laptop from adding the numbers to my ssid, so I have no problems connecting to my home wireless network?

I tried Samsung'site original driver for that model, and 3 other versions from Atheros site, but nothing change.The user has mistakenly started Samsung's factory restore, and has stopped it...the Windows 7 Home premium is OK with everything ; only wlan isn't ok anymore.There is a visible SSID in that house, and i can connect flawlessly with another laptop, or a smartphone.

Whenever I try to open a folder by simply double-clicking, it brings up an error message stating that I do not have a program assigned to perform the requested action. I checked my defaults and windows search is assigned to handle folder browsing. The only way into the folders is to right-click and hit Open, but along with that, cmd (in bold) is the first option in the right-click menu. If I click it, it says the same thing as trying to double-click.

I've tried re-associating txt files with Notepad to no avail. I use a seperate SDD on which I play DCS World Games .Win7 is also on that disk as part of a dual boot but here it only serves to operate the games and ancilliaries. I have found that when clicking on 'Computer' in the Start Menu or the icon on Desktop ; there is no response and I cannot gain access to computer on on that disk.I have run various malware, anti virus programs but all seems clear I have formatted and reinstalled Win7 and the games from DCS. At first all was well but the problem has returned . I should have mentioned that last week the problen extended to 'Task Manager' ans 'Waste Basket' ; neither would open to a double click.The fact that the problem has returned makes me believe that a virus is high on the list of suspects but I cannot locate it[CODE]

I had trouble connecting to the internet, so the technician who built it came and added a network adapter card and changed some settings. (Not sure what he did.) After he left, my drives were not detected at all, not in My Computer nor in Device Manager so I did a system restore, which got the drives back but then I had trouble connecting to the internet again. So, I undid the system restore and connected OK again. A day later, I noticed I could not open a disc by double clicking on the drive in My Computer. I have two optical drives and its the same with both drives. I can right click and open to view files but not play disc. ( Movie nor music.) I can play them through the autoplay dialogue box though. I went into safe mode and tried and they will play in there by double clicking the drive. What happens when I try to play by double clicking the drive is I got a message first saying, The file does not have a program associated with it for performing this action. Please install a program or if one is already installed, create an association in the Default Programs Control Panel. I checked the Default Programs and they were set properly. Then, when I tried double clicking the drives again, got a different message. This time saying, Windows cannot access the specified device, path or file. You may not have the appropriate permissions to access this item. I also ran MalwareBytes and MSE in both normal and safe modes. Nothing was detected either place. I also went into Device Manager and uninstalled the drives and restarted my computer for them to be detected again and they were but still didnt correct the problem.

I tried Googleing, and got a lot of mixed results, some people say its normal, others say delete both because its a virus (har har har). These are also the same people saying to delete sms and system 32 it seems.I have got one thats listed with a session name as a survive for session 0 eating 5k memory and another listed as console for session 1 eating 8k.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI have just set up a new ASUS zenbook prime. I set up the wireless network 2 nights ago and had no problems. I then installed Microsoft Office 2010 and the problems started. I started getting errors about ATK0100 driver missing and the wireless function stopped working. I re-installed the ATK0100 driver and that stoppped that error message. I then thought that the wireless adapter may have also been affected by the Offce install so I removed then re-installed that one (Intel Centrino(R) Advanced-N 6235). I also unistalled Office but still hasn't fixed the problem. I can connect via a 4G USB wireless adapter but can't connect to my home wireless modem. I have 2 other laptops (windows7 and vista) accessing the wireless modem. When I try to connect the error is "no network access"" and "Windows was unable to connect to "SSID"". I have tried removing the wireless network and adding it again but to no avail. I have also used the troubleshooter but it can't find anything wrong either. The wireless function is on and I'm not sure what else to try? I have trawled through lots of forums and it seems like quite a few people have the same problem but I haven't yet found an answer.
