View 3 RepliesA colleague of mine using the 64bit version of Windows 7 Enterprise has been having this problem for the past day or so. No matter what program he's using, as soon as he clicks print, the program stops responding. This even happens if you try to print a test page - Windows Explorer stops responding. It's not printer specific, since this happens before you have the option to select a printer (and he has several, one local printer and a few network printers). I've tried running the troubleshooting tool, but all that does is restart the print spooler, which doesn't stop the problem.

Pause for a while, then reboot. Figuring I might have old hardware profiles that needed updating, I went to check my windows updater and found it was disabled... A short series of checks and Gringo was head to head with a Zero Acess Infection, which he promptly kicked the backside of.However, since then, the black screen issue has returned. It seems it wasn't Malware related. It doesn't seem to have any obvious pattern. Sometimes it happens when nothing it happening at all, and when I get back to the computer there is just an error log.Sometimes it happens twice in a row, sometimes not for hours. View 9 Replies View Relatedmy system has been skipping for a bit now, basically a few things are quite wrong to me, and them seem to get worse. in chronological order;crackling in the sound (i use optical audio with the z5500 speakers from logitech) small jitters/pauses from time to time jitters/pauses got longer and more frequent video card crashing (im guessing caused by drivers)** very long pauses all video is affected (Internet causes a massive pause after about 30seconds, window goes green - flv player crashes/gets lines across the window) *note: when it the video jitters, so does the sound**what i mean by crash is, the screen will go off completely (as if in sleep mode), recover and the message will appear in the task bar saying the driver crashed.system resources will go to 100% for a brief moment while the system is unresponsive (all cores and memory to 100%). after a cold boot, it will not start for about 10 minutes, then it will start slowly and within an hour get to where it is regularly.
the computer itself is fairley new (june 2011), the hard drive, though is from 2008, i used it on another build and basically recycled it, (reinstalled the os multiple times since i bought it, clearing the drive each time.)things i have tried;kaspersky full scan ccleaner disk fragmentation disk check updated all my drivers boot to only necessary programs with msconfigmy system;os version: microsoft windows 7 ultimate, 64 bit processor: intel(r) core(tm) i7-2600 cpu @ 3.40ghz, intel64 family 6 model 42 stepping 7 processor count: 8 ram: 8174 mb - g.skill ripjaw series 1600 graphics card: nvidia geforce gtx 570, 1280 mb hard drives: c: total - 476836 mb, free - 103627 mb - wd caviar blue motherboard: asrock, p67 extreme4 antivirus: kaspersky pure, enabledi have gotten several error messages in korean from chrome, not sure what exactly they were saying. the screen will now pause when the sound does, then after a little while it will go back to normal but not before having the whole screen go black.
I watch a video (usally avi file) and after I pause the video for a few minutes it starts over.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a process that is always running on my PC (Win7 sp1) that I can shutdown gracefully anytime and will also shutdown gracefully when the computer is restarted or shutdown if only it is given enough time. I'd like to add a little time (maybe 20 seconds) between the time the computer sends the shutdown command to all open processes and the time it sends the kill now command to any processes that are left open.If my process shuts down gracefully it restarts in about 5 seconds, but when it shuts down ungracefully it takes about 10 minutes.

If I pause and then play a video the audio starts just fine but the video is frozen until I skip forward or backward. It is only an issue if I pause then play the video within ~10 seconds. Not sure what is going on here or how to fix this. I'm using Shark007 codecs.

The batch file (windows command script) I'm making is intended to do something fairly simple. It extracts a 7zip file into the TEMP directory then starts an executable from that 7zip file. All that is not a problem, but I really wanted to add some house cleaning functionality as well. Namely, after that executable or process is closed, the script deletes the extracted content from the TEMP folder. Also, but less importantly I was wondering if there is a way to hide the command prompt while the script & application is running, mainly so the command prompt window isn't closed while waiting for the application to end, thus missing the command to purge the TEMP files.

When ever im using a browser ie. Internet explorer and google chrome, my browser scrolls down automatically to the bottom page even if im typing or watching a video.2. when im playing a fulls screen online video my video tends to auto pause.3. when ever i donot have a browser open and i open any other window/application everything minimizes, though i haven't noticed these issues when im playing game in full screen.

I've got a 1TB hard-disk, so understandably that's a lot of data to overwrite. The thing is that I looked at my resource monitor and it's only using 3% of the CPU and 31% of the total RAM.
I tried setting the process at a higher priority but Windows won't let me change system priorities. I've already spent hours trying to get my folder permissions set-up, and now this. Is there any way that I can get full control over the computer I payed for?
Alternatively, is there any other way that I can allow programs more resources without being hit with "Access Denied. Exterminate! Exterminate!"?

Within the first few days I received a message upon login that the system was low on resources and I had to log into an account that was already in use. The problem is that all of the accounts are logged out. The problem is getting progressively worse and I have to reboot the computer virtually every time I log in. I've performed virus scans and have been observing the processes over time via the resource monitor.

I shut the lid on my laptop when I went to the store. I have it customized to where it goes to sleep, plugged in or on AC power, when the lid is shut. I was gone for about twenty minutes. When I opened it, the three users popped up at the log in screen. One for my roommates, one for me, and the third is for my fingerprint, which uses a built-in validity sensor, software being HP SimplePass. Now, when I tried to log in, it gave me the following error message:"Your system is running low on resources. You can not log in as a new user. Please log in using an account that is already..." (I can't remember that last part of this final sentence.)I restarted my PC and everything is now as it should be.
View 8 Replies View RelatedI have Windows 7 on a machine at home that the whole family uses. I've noticed that when i leave some applications running (ie...IE, Firefox, Mail, ect...) and someone else wants to login to do something they get the error message "Not Enough Resources to login".
So i will then have to log back in as me and close everything i left open so they can login.
There is no domain obviously since the windows fast switch user is being used.
Has anyone else had this issue or no how to resolve it?
I have Windows 7 SP1 Ultimate 64-bit that struggles along to see the shared resources of other computers on the LAN even if the "Network discovery" and "Files and Printers Sharing" options of the "Advanced sharing settings" applet are enabled. In other words, if I click on Network in Windows Explorer, no computer on the LAN is displayed; whereas, if I write "\<ComputerName>" in the address bar, I can see with difficulty its shared resources.
This fact is in each account. I have no firewall active, I use the network of type "Work" and I do not use the homegroup feature. The operating systems on the target computers are Windows 7 SP1 Ultimate 64-bit and Windows XP Pro SP3. The computers have the same time. How can I check whether the SMB protocol is working properly?

Windows 7 synaptics left click acts like right click after reboot and the right click doesn't work at all. I've downloaded the most recent driver & searched for a solution online but haven't found anyone who has fixed this issue. Did everyone just give up or am I not patient enough & haven't dug deep enough. If I use a USB mouse there are no problems it just seems to be with the built-in after I've used the USB mouse.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have an Optiplex 760 small form that I recently had to reinstall Windows 7 due to a hard drive issue,I am running Windows 7 Enterprise 32bit, I have 2 Gigs of Ram and a 3.00 Core2Duo processor. After the reinstall of Windows I am not able to set the proper resolution of my Dell 1909wf (widescreen monitor) the proper resolution of 1440x900, I am not able to select it.I have my monitor connected though VGA as that is the only connection on my computer. When I go in to Device Manager, I have a little warning triangle next to Intel (R) 4 Series Internal Chipset. When I click on properties of the Intel 4 chipset, the error is: This device cannot find enough free resources that it can use. (Code 12) If you want to use this device, you will need to disable one of the other devices on this system.I have downloaded the drivers for the graphics card and for the chipset directly from Dell by entering the service tag and have rebooted my computer several times with no success. I have even had Windows search for the latest update and It says I have the latest driver installed.I also have a warning triangle on Intel (R) Management Engine Interface. Keep in mind that my computers graphics card worked great and had the proper drivers on 7 before the hard drive was re-imaged. I have other 760s with the same specs and monitors that have no issues.
